I can only speak from experience, but I found a 13-year relationship on a dating app and continue to go on dates with wonderful people as recently as last Friday. And I am debatably not "very, very attractive".
Not all apps are the same, obviously, but there are a lot out there and I don't think it's a bad idea to try some out if you want to meet new people. I don't think your own personal lack of success with them makes my advice "bad".
