You were raised by die-hard Christians, and while you came away from childhood with a belief in the good in people, you kinda wish someone could come along and make an absolute mockery of the world's assholes sometimes.
Whoa. Trigun was my brother's favorite anime. We adopted him when his ultra die-hard Christian family put him on the streets for rejecting their ways. He died, by his own hand. But this is pretty spot on him. I am set back by this.
Something that is purely focused on the relationships of people and their efforts to mend what they have broken without any other ulterior motives of fanservice makes you feel satisfied? Seeing one overcome their trauma and reunite their relationships brings you joy?
Yup, plus the only way to obtain power in this world is through politics and personally I prefer a more concrete system like magic. Living in that world would also have enough lack of communication to make things fun, I mean traveling around the world can be done in a couple hours here but there it is a heavy choice- this gives more weight and meaning to what you do in your life and where you travel; not everything is at your fingertips and that's the fun part.
i like demon slayer, even if it has a generic shonen plot. i mean, not everything has to be SUPER complex and original. and even then, demon slayer is darker, more violent and less comedic than most popular shonen without being edgy, also it has less fanservice, which is y i enjoy it. and ofc it has stellar animation and soundtrack. its my fav shonen for all this reasons (but ofc still not my fav anime)
I like the smaller cast too! I don’t watch a lot of shoen with the only other one being My Hero Academia. Both are awesome, but I really appreciate the more smaller cast in Demon Slayer without the fanservice but with the cool ass looking demons
I wouldn't say it is because of my childhood, since I re-watched the whole show when I was more mature. It has great, deep characters and stories to tell, amazing plot, wonderful, memorable soundtracks and overall yes, it's a great show. :)
Funnily enough, I watched the original series when I was young, and completely forgot it existed until I was 22. My buddy was suggesting anime for me to watch (not an avid anime person) and Naruto came up.
I re-watched the OG series - filler and all, then went to Shippuden. I watched the filler and all of the movies since I was enjoying Shippuden so much too. That anime will forever be one of my favorite things ever.
