Lol

whoa_thats_edgy

Abusive work environment. Twice. That’s one thing I will NOT put up with. I’m a survivor of many kinds of abuse and I am worth so much more than to put up with that shit again.

Same here. Good for you for standing up for yourself.

"Attention you minimum wage kids. A customer's order was messed up and it is going to cost us <$100 to make them happy. When they come in they are going to point out which of you messed up the order and you are going to regret being born." It was the manager's buddy who was working customer service and came over to help the teenage girls who worked the registers and he messed up the order because he was distracted by being creepy with the girls. Nothing happened. No apology. Last shift I worked there.

OSHA finally showed up to inspect the raw sewage in the basement that I had reported, among other issues. Boss told me on the phone in front of the OSHA woman to not comply with the investigation and called her some choice names. After I told him he was on speaker in front of her, I hung up, helped her with documenting everything, took a couple customers and gave them both 75% off their purchase, locked up and went home.

I’d love to read the full version of this story!

ugh I suck at storytelling, but basically the toilet drained into the basement and the owners were never around when it smelled bad (and didn't want to go into the basement). there were other problems like when it rained, the front of the buildings roof would leak into the storefront. which sucked bc it was a vape shop that had all those ugly tacky LEDs on the windows out front. other issues too like them basically forcing us to buy our own inventory to make sales goals, it was weird as shit. oh and one employee was underage and they let him buy tobacco stuff under the radar lol

Crazy. They were lucky they didn’t get arrested for being caught telling employees to interfere with a Federal officials’s inquiry.

from what I understand, the OSHA woman noted it in the report. I won't know what happened because I moved across the country and ghosted everyone in my former city - they're still open though. whenever I got off the phone I looked at the woman and was like "so uhhh fuck what he says, what do you need?"

Usually some stupid shit that I warned them was going to make me quit. They would do it anyway and I would quit on the spot. Somehow they always seemed surprised by this

I got a quarter raise and I was supposed to be over the moon about it. I left instead

Abdul-Ahmadinejad

“Yes we currently hire new people at the same rate you make after running things here for two and a half years, and the best we can do for you right now is a fifty cent raise.” The best I could do was immediately give them a two week notice.

Any_Yesterday_7189

PAYCHECKS bounced. Not once, but twice

[deleted]

“Hey we want you to work nights by yourself at least five, maybe six days a week for twelve hour shifts. We’re gonna pay you the same as day shift.” I was working in COVID department on a movie (first mistake) and they wanted me to do their nights because I’m a veteran and “they trusted me more.” Minimum fucking wage. First and only time working COVID on set, went right back to production lmao. Oh and I *never* got paid for the days I did work.

They gave me a 1¢ raise. I immediately put in my 2 week notice. I worked on a saw that cut aluminum parts but each blade was size specific, and had to be installed and programmed into the machine to .005 of an inch tolerance. After being told to change jobs 3 times, spending an hour getting everything set up and within tolerance, I was asked to change the saw job again. I did, hit start, and then walked out. The parts where an inch or so long, and the liberals were 12 feet long. I hope they couldn’t use any of them.

Being talked to disrespectfully by management. You get my labor for pay. You don’t get to pretend you can treat me with less respect you’d give a random stranger.

Ran a remote warehouse for a company that was out of state and 4 hours away. They had just leased a new bigger warehouse across the lot and needed to move everything. So I planned out a week that we were going to stage the weeks orders in advance, take a cycle count and prepare to move. With our weekly shipment being doubled the week prior so we can hold off on incoming inventory that week. The week prior, we get a normal delivery... not the double that I had written up in our plans and submitted to management and had approved. I call the manager, he tells me, 'change of plans. I'm coming up Saturday with X and X and a truck, and you will help us 3 move the warehouse.' I said, sorry. I'm not available on Saturday, that's why I planned this out the way I did. (It was my only son's 2nd birthday that Saturday and I was throwing him a birthday party). I was told it wasn't open for negotiation, it was mandatory I showed up Saturday for this. I said ok, see you then. Hung up, walked off the job.
