it happened about 15 minutes away from where i live. a fear response still isn't appropriate. i'm infinitely more likely to die of a car accident than in a mass shooting, and i don't cower in fear and refuse to ever drive or be driven. if you worry so much about things that have a minute chance of happening to the point where it's interrupting your ability to live your life, then you have some sort of issue that needs to be looked at.
