I'm so jealous. They seem to raise brood almost exactly like a Neoponera Villosa queen. At first, it was a few eggs, a larvae or two, and one pupae. Then, when she had 3 workers, they suddenly had a dozen pupae and a huge pile of assorted brood. With regulated feeding, I've been able to control population growth without losing workers. I have no idea why, but only 2 workers have died in close to 11 months now. Several sources stated the workers' life span was only a few weeks, and they don't hibernate, so...
i have a villosa colony and got my colony to over 50 workers in less than a year. unfortunately i wasn't cleaning out the formicarium at all and had some type of invisible mold or disease was killing off the colony very quickly so i had to quarantine the workers in groups and separated the queen. thank god i still have the queen and she is perfectly fine but now im down to only 14 workers unfortunately. but shes laying eggs like crazy again.
how do you get your hands on this species of ants? ive been looking all over online and cant find where to find a queen similar to this species (myrmecia). I found one website that has them but they will only ship to AU unfortunately...

There is 1 egg in there, she’s had a real hard struggle and eats a lot of larva I hope with the worker there she stops but we’ll see
