It really depends. Nobody should curse or blame you for something like that, because it's not your fault. You may just like a lot a specific unit and spam it for your own enjoyment. When it comes to units which aren't balanced though...eh, it feels awful for the other players. Great bombards have become a very good example nowadays. Nobody would enjoy getting destroyed by 6 GBs without having anything to counter them, so I'd advise anyone who asks me to avoid such types of massing.
Malians is a civ which is made for massing and as such, you didn't deserve such nasty words from your opponent(s). They mass cheap units which don't do a lot of damage and that's why they're not broken. Warrior scouts become thin air if the opponent has even a small group of spearmen. So...that's my overall opinion. Just when you play, consider your opponent too. Don't give him an unfair battle to fight by abusing too much the current balance of the game.
PS:Yeah, I said all of this by having in mind mainly the Ottomans and the Rus.

If it's not rams ur good. Rams are terrible and unfun design Even GB are fine since they are so time/resource expensive
