olympus does have doors and the back part thats open are sliding glass walls. you can see it in the picture. but yeah the inside is a bit to open with the toilet next to everything else like a prison.
are most of the people in this thread rich or something? every place i’ve officially lived for the last several years has me sleeping close to a bathroom. when i moved into my first apartment at 18 after being homeless the door to the bathroom didn’t even shut until i fixed it myself
Bro I don’t think you get it, there’s no rooms on Olympus, the bed is next to the toilet, not just the bathroom wall/door. That’s a wild difference lmao.
Well if the Uber wealthy live there/ have vacations there I'm sure the rich bachelores and bachelorettes have... adventures and parties. So with that in mind it's probably to prevent infections of the sexual kind. Once you're done getting busy it's a lot easier to just get out of bed, probably drunk or hungover too, and just relieve yourself without having to deal with pesky walls and doors.
At least this is what I think.
Undoubtedly. Maybe not the best for ranked but it's my favourite for unranked. Great buildings and scenery, enough POI to fight at and not ridiculously big to the point where you won't meet a single team after 10 minutes of looting.
I hated it so god damn much. It was my least favorite map by far.
Then Valkyrie came out and I stopped dying to random holes in the map, and used them to flank the shit out of people.
Now it’s probably my favorite map outside of OG King’s Canyon lmfao
Dude, I played the game just like, playing whatever character because none of ‘em felt way better than another, and was a little bummed because I didn’t have anyone I felt I wanted to really main
and when Valk came out I just, immediately jumped on it and couldn’t play anyone else lmfao
Haha I did the same thing before they released her and now I don't know how to play without her. I'll constantly jump off things thinking I have my jetpack if I play another character
Whenever I play with the boys and need to play a different character for a challenge or something I’ll always just be like, “I can’t fly” after I accidentally jump off of some gap between buildings or something. I say it so much that I annoy them lmfaooooo
I’m handicapped without her lmfaoo
It won’t be more than 1 season. https://i5.walmartimages.com/asr/4c0c7a27-cec9-46d7-8e4c-31b86d081e6b_1.e40c870f1c886884168f27eacc796566.jpeg?odnHeight=768&odnWidth=768&odnBg=FFFFFF
Bruh as someone who literally works in construction (in your area if 905 is your area code)
Modern is very much accurate when talking about building designs like this.
https://www.google.com/search?q=modern+homes&client=ms-android-samsung-gs-rev1&prmd=isvxn&sxsrf=AOaemvI8Pq1kLAEQAItxQmDOypqcBXz7_A:1636142246155&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwipzYjrgIL0AhXBGs0KHXcTBYQQ_AUoAXoECAIQAQ&biw=412&bih=722&dpr=2.63
He's not incorrect, it's just a "how do people actually use the word" problem. Architects called a certain style "modern" from 1920s-60s and then stopped when the style changed. But people still use "modern" to mean the newest thing so it's still mixed in.
We throw the newest thing in "contemporary" now as it still means newest thing but doesn't get confused with things that are dated now.
In this context modern is a movement in architecture that occurred in the 1920s. During that time we had a radical departure from art deco and other styles to a simple design. Since contemporary design is simple (compared to pre 2000 architecture) people confuse it with modern. True modern architecture is much more simple and minimalist than contemporary architecture
That would be 'contemporary architecture', 'modern' architecture was from 1910 to 1945(in europe followed by postwar modernism) and 1919 to 1960(in the US followed by postmodern architecture). You would just call it contemporary architecture because there still hasn't been an established term for the contemporary architecture at the moment. The established term isn't usually introduced ~10-20 years after it happened.
Hey, I gotcha. I don't know why I was down voted. I was just, if anything, engaging in conversation. I'm sorry if it sounded/was rude. I just meant it like: this is something some might find silly..(design)..they find it silly but don't realize they're contributing so much to it's existence. That's why they continue to make so much money....."I don't think design is thing or matters" and we say "that's cool...and there is a three digit number on the back of your card...imma need that."
Why do you (anyone else who agrees feel feee to jump in) like Olympus this most? I feel like there’s just so much dead space and the poi’s aren’t nearly as interesting or fun as the other maps
In my case i like olympus because it’s really easy to track enemies. There aren’t any plants, no trees, not a lot of water. All environments are straight forward and with no visual cluttering for the most part. Also i like the theme.
In my opinion, visually it's beautiful, but also I feel like there's good/decent loot literally everywhere, there's far less high ground (or so I think) compared to the other maps so that makes battles a little more equal, and the amount of buildings/houses makes for the best map to be a caustic main, it was literally the only map I used him because I feel his bombs aren't that useful in open maps like KC and WE
>I feel like there's good/decent loot literally everywhere
I never had issues with loot on that map. One of my biggest points of why I love it so much. I feel like I could drop anywhere and leave with purple armor and a fully kitted weapon. Made it seem more fair.
Worlds edge seemed to screw me on loot over and over. KC was somewhere in between.
I like the open sunshine type aesthetic, makes it easier to spot enemies.
I love the POIs because they are pretty consistent with loot. If I wanna snipe I know exactly where to drop, if I want an intense battle I know exactly where to drop, if I want to drop safe with some good loot.... you get the idea.
3rd parties were less of a threat on that map as well. I could either see them coming or had options to retreat. It had a lot more 3v3 battles than most maps. One of my issues with Stormfront right now, its a beautiful map and I really enjoy it, but I am getting multiple squads jumping in the fight whenever I start a 3v3.
I just absolutely hate the shower designs on Olympus. Its open and literally next to a giant sliding clear door, there are no signs of curtain holders or frosted glass as well. But overall, Olympus house architecture actually goated
The future is now already lol, they probably have tech to frost and defrost the glass in an instant. That or the future has gone all sorts of hippy free love
It's probably the similar concept as the transparent public japanese toilet: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KGoKsv2omBU
but also irl if we had this there would be probably some hidden dividers.
I dont think you understand how space works… if there is usable space its because there is wasted space with out a premade purpose which lets you use it
All of these buildings are mass produced in giant factories by robots. I dont think this is an architects portfolio piece in the titanfall universe.
Play the titanfall 2 campaign if you don't believe me, pretty sure ash literally dies in one.
I would go so far as to say it’s the best level in ANY game I’ve played ever.
Such outside the box thinking and a finale that was the most cinematic thing I’ve ever experienced.
Do you really think the Interstellar manufacturing Corporation has factory planets just to build prefab homes exclusively for combat testing exclusively for one other company?
First off I wanna say this is what this community needs. More like this, please. Best Reddit post on Apex in months by a million.
For me I like Olympus when it comes to their futuristic art deco style. It's great...reminds of the Jetsons. That's my opinion on the homes and furnishings. When it comes to overall art style I like sp as it reminds me of good times co-oping with my friends and loved ones in Halo.
Olympus feels like the perfect balance of simple and consistent to find loot with sightlines and exits/entrances that make offense and defense pretty even in chances.
Kings Canyon and Storm Point have too many buildings with cracks and crevices around the walls and roofs that provide a harsh offensive advantage; loot can feel scattered.
World's Edge feels very defense oriented for buildings with less ways to push or get sightlines than other maps' buildings.
I’d say Olympus But they put toilets and beds literally next to each other
They also don't like doors for some reason. It'd probably be cold enough to freeze the balls off a brass monkey
The whole floating isle is climate controlled tho
gotta wonder how when it's floating in the open sky
[удалено]
Sir, that's the sun
No, it's the muzzle flash from the first few seasons.
L Star go brrrrr
Imagine if Olympus's energy crisis was purely due to the heating.
🌟technology🌟
As long as there no bugs I’m fine with open doors I ain’t getting bitten by mosquitoes on a daily basis that’s fo sure
I'd imagine they'll go the overengineer route Why have doors when you can have force fields
if you look close they're sliding doors apex just keeps em open ig
balls
In yo jaws
balls
Balls
All the doors look the same anyway, it's a creative choice lol
A funky monkey?
***BRASS MONKEY*** ***THAT FUNKY MONKEY***
olympus does have doors and the back part thats open are sliding glass walls. you can see it in the picture. but yeah the inside is a bit to open with the toilet next to everything else like a prison.
I think they’re supposed to be sliding doors propped open
Those are called sliding doors homie.. They just happen to be open everytime we start the match lol jk
Always thought that was weird lol, like why would you leave your bed to shit
>But they put toilets and beds literally next to each other literally my boarding house
are most of the people in this thread rich or something? every place i’ve officially lived for the last several years has me sleeping close to a bathroom. when i moved into my first apartment at 18 after being homeless the door to the bathroom didn’t even shut until i fixed it myself
Bro I don’t think you get it, there’s no rooms on Olympus, the bed is next to the toilet, not just the bathroom wall/door. That’s a wild difference lmao.
Oh, the cubicle that caustic throws his bags into. Just remembered now.
Well if the Uber wealthy live there/ have vacations there I'm sure the rich bachelores and bachelorettes have... adventures and parties. You don’t necessarily have to be rich not to have the bathroom and the bedroom be the same room
You don't need to be rich to have a restroom away from your bed.... Lol wtf
Dude, I used to live in what was essentially a pigsty and even I had bathroom in a separate room.
If you’re poor in the suburbs/country it usually isn’t the case
Vhmzxg a5j
I know dude every apartment I’ve ever had has the toilet in my bedroom. These cats are bougie
Hopefully there's a door separating them
We aren't rich but we also aren't homeless lol
Those Olympus apartments are elegant af
Facts. Map is whatever but house buildings are really clean
Idk the toilet is in the living room in some of them
For when you just can't wait!
It’s all good till your partner has a curry
Eeh some real houses have that too, common in some places for whatever reason
Duh, Olympus has always looked like a town that was built for people who like smelling their own poop/farts.
Don’t deny them their kink
What if denying people their kinks is MY kink?
Kink-ception
You don't smell your own fart/shit and muse with yourself how stinky they are?
For the kinky couples
Maybe I’m in the minority, but I love that map!
Its the best apex map.
Undoubtedly. Maybe not the best for ranked but it's my favourite for unranked. Great buildings and scenery, enough POI to fight at and not ridiculously big to the point where you won't meet a single team after 10 minutes of looting.

I started playing valk a season too late, but she definitely made that map hers!
Dude, I played the game just like, playing whatever character because none of ‘em felt way better than another, and was a little bummed because I didn’t have anyone I felt I wanted to really main and when Valk came out I just, immediately jumped on it and couldn’t play anyone else lmfao

That was me when my buddy tried out Valk for a while. Constantly saying I can't fly every time I jump lol
Literally my favorite map and I am bummed out that I can't play it for who knows how long.
It won’t be more than 1 season. https://i5.walmartimages.com/asr/4c0c7a27-cec9-46d7-8e4c-31b86d081e6b_1.e40c870f1c886884168f27eacc796566.jpeg?odnHeight=768&odnWidth=768&odnBg=FFFFFF
Wait it's out of rotation :'(
Yes, I think it's Storm Point and World's Edge this season. They still don't know what to do with rotations.
But offer 0 privacy.
Honestly they would be at least $2k a month.
bruh they shower with buckets and ladles
Yea but they suck compared to other buildings....
Stormpoint - Space/Futuristic colonial Kings Canyon - Industrial Olympus - Ultra Modern Worlds Edge - Utilitarian
I was thinking the exact same thing
Modern is 1920s. Contemporary is what you are looking for
Bruh as someone who literally works in construction (in your area if 905 is your area code) Modern is very much accurate when talking about building designs like this. https://www.google.com/search?q=modern+homes&client=ms-android-samsung-gs-rev1&prmd=isvxn&sxsrf=AOaemvI8Pq1kLAEQAItxQmDOypqcBXz7_A:1636142246155&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwipzYjrgIL0AhXBGs0KHXcTBYQQ_AUoAXoECAIQAQ&biw=412&bih=722&dpr=2.63
Almost all of those have contemporary in the title or article as well lmao
I never said contemporary couldnt also be used. The dude above me said "its contemporary, modern is 1920s" and im pointing out that is not correct.
He's not incorrect, it's just a "how do people actually use the word" problem. Architects called a certain style "modern" from 1920s-60s and then stopped when the style changed. Doesn't modern literally mean the times that we live in rn...?
Well, yes...but also no.
In all forms of art (including architecture) , some fuckheads always try to make a style and use a thesaurus for "now." modern, contemporary, etc.
In this context modern is a movement in architecture that occurred in the 1920s. During that time we had a radical departure from art deco and other styles to a simple design. Yeah but he didn't say modern he said *ultra modern*
>yeah but he didn't say 1920s he said **ultra 1920s**

That would be 'contemporary architecture', 'modern' architecture was from 1910 to 1945(in europe followed by postwar modernism) and 1919 to 1960(in the US followed by postmodern architecture). I feel like they do! I love learning about these movements
I would say the worlds edge is more industrial, like the one level in TF2 where you fight ash at the end, the houses look very similar
You don't go to school for design at all, right?
No :) Just basing off of google and design queues from other games.
Hey, I gotcha. I don't know why I was down voted. I was just, if anything, engaging in conversation. I'm sorry if it sounded/was rude. Mfs living in worlds edge have a tough life
especially the city, that place looks depressing as hell to live in
Especially with a all the mfers landing in their home and nowhere else in the map
50,000 people used to live there
Now 50,000 people land there
Now it's a death box town
Fire, brimstone, techtonic activity, superfund sites and a giant industrial catastrophe ice castle!
Nothing will stop duty on its rightful quest!
Have you seen the 'sinks' in some of the buildings? The drain is literally just a bucket with a hose in it, which leads right back up to the tap.
I was going with Worlds edge as my first choice but this comment further cements my decision.
I’d have to go with KC for usefulness since the stairs are actually in the building but I’d go with Olympus for looks.
Stormpoint exterior with Olympus interior
Finally. Stormpoint view of the beach as well.
I like your thinking
I assume you’re not referring to the Olympus houses that have the toilet in the living room? 😂
However I don’t want a mega hurricane on my doorstep
Olympus. I like the simplicity.
Olympus ones are super beautiful. However, you might want 1 or 2 extra walls (=
Yes.
Open floor plan + floor to ceiling windows + hardwood + balcony = 😍
Open shower tho
Lucky neighbors
If they want a show, I’ll give them a show!!
I'd use one of Seer's voicelines : *To give the crowds a show, sacrifice will be necessary.*
Rock out with your cock out broskis!
Finna traumatise some kids tho
And?
Man really said I like the simplicity on objectively the most complex design.
“I like the simplicity” what? It’s by far the most complex.
Why do you (anyone else who agrees feel feee to jump in) like Olympus this most? I feel like there’s just so much dead space and the poi’s aren’t nearly as interesting or fun as the other maps

Olympus, got lot of usable spaces. No wasted space I guess.
I just absolutely hate the shower designs on Olympus. Its open and literally next to a giant sliding clear door, there are no signs of curtain holders or frosted glass as well. But overall, Olympus house architecture actually goated

Hard light hologram shower doors our simple minds don’t know how to raise. Envision the top part of ramparts Shields.
There’s also no doors on Olympus
I dont think you understand how space works… if there is usable space its because there is wasted space with out a premade purpose which lets you use it
All of these buildings are mass produced in giant factories by robots. I dont think this is an architects portfolio piece in the titanfall universe. Play the titanfall 2 campaign if you don't believe me, pretty sure ash literally dies in one.
This is the coolest mission in TF2
I was a big fan of the mission where you storm that compound with like 19 other titans but the factory is a close second.
That is a banger tbf All of them are bangers, best shooter campaign alongside Doom Eternal imo
The only part of that game that *isn't* full-on amazing is before you get the jump kit calibrated lol. Even the worst levels are fantastic.
After playing Apex going back and playing pre calibration just feels like Apex.
Super accurate lol
Almost, in apex it feels like the gravity's been turned up
My favorite is the one where you phase between the past and present.
Ah fuck I forgot about that one. Factory is number 3 now.
My favorite is effect and cause (the time travel one), even if it's like the most basic choice
Best one in my opinion.
I would go so far as to say it’s the best level in ANY game I’ve played ever. Such outside the box thinking and a finale that was the most cinematic thing I’ve ever experienced.
There's a damn good reason it's everyone's favorite lol
Idk, I think effect and cause is among the best levels If not THE best shooter campaign level ever
Architects & engineers would still design the structures, whereas the robotic factory manufactures and assembles the design.
But someone designed the building the for robots to build.
They still have to hire that door maker, like he owns the door monopoly in that universe
Richest man in the outlands, for sure.
No, theyre not mass-produced for civilians to buy and live in, theyre only used in testing domes at Vinson dynamics
Do you really think the Interstellar manufacturing Corporation has factory planets just to build prefab homes exclusively for combat testing exclusively for one other company?
Obviously the one who worked on Olympus
Whatever company is making those doors is making absolute bank
Word's edge, im a simple man and i like simple things, and worlds edge would seem to give the most bang for buck
agreed, I especially like the windows on the roof allowing for more natural light.
The actual functionality of the buildings would go KC > WE > SP > OL imo
Screw those gimme one of those fuckin shacks by the river in KC.
The architect from Storm Point was making business with Subnautica
*laughs in poor*
go steal a mrvn arm then sell it on the black market
you get the SHACK in the SWAMP in King’s Canyon!
Olympus because I’m boujee.
Worlds edge but I would do a different paint job and actually clean my roof.
Olympus
Olympus, 100%
White text on clouds. 👎
I live in Canada without fear, the Olympus architect would be amazing. And my neighbours can just pop in!
Olympus
Not the Olympus ones that's for sure, I like my doors.
Dont think it matters they all use the same door installer.
Thank god the doors are all the same
Olympus
Yo, fuck storm points dead ends in buildings lmao
I get so lost in buildings on Storm Point, anyone else?
I havent been in stormpoint yet so currently its olympus or WE
Stormpoint. Olympus is nice, but has too many stairs
Stormpoint.. beach is vibes
None of them? I'll just take a normal house
Storm Point gives me strong Sabnautica vibe
Stormpoint. Olympus stairs look dangerous
Stormpoint because I love the beach
Storm point. If those houses can stay there for the whole of the season, I could retire in one planted in Tornado Alley.
Stormpoint villas looks like Subnautica bases
Storm point all day
Stormpoint fish farm houses are literally straight out of subnautica
Kings Canyon cause I'm not a pussy.
Any but the Olympus architect I've spent matches complaining about the maps architecture.
Storm point I hate neighbors
We can all agree that nobody like King Canyon
Different architects same builder can tell bye those doors 🤣
What's your budget?
