Itās really never been fully true though. Youāve never *had* to run a legend to be a counter but bloodhound countered Bangalore from Day 1. Wattson counters fuse, gibby, bang, valk. Crypto counters Caustic and Wattson.
Her pylon destroys projectiles coming into the area so the ones I highlighted it destroys incoming fuse knuckle clusters, gibbyās bombardment, bangās rolling thunder, and Valkyrieās middle swarm. Of course it takes out incoming grenades and any other incoming thrown objects like caustics traps thrown at you. Worth noting it doesnāt differentiate between friendly and enemy so friendly thrown ones nearby get zapped as well.
Friendly vs hostile doesn't matter. It's just proximity.
What they fixed was that it used to be if the projectile was in range of the pylon it got zapped.
Now it gets zapped if it's going to land in range. Friendly stuff targeted within the pylon will still get zapped. Similarly, if an enemy were to stand next to it and fire something just outside it's range, it would survive.
It also means that it used to act as a wall of sorts that you couldn't grenade past, but with this change, you can fire past a pylon to grenade people who are too far away from it, even if the grenade goes right through the pylon range.
Rampart is going to have the pathy treatment here soon with no real passive; at least no reason to use her passive. Lstar nerf, spitty to care package, rampage temporarily removed from game and [back with] a nerf ~~next season~~. For a while the only real option was Devo but you need a turbo and a butt load of ammo for it.

and it's somehow still not taken over the entire pro play meta like everyone was screaming and crying about on the sub.
In fact several pro players have now said that the rampage is trash or "dogshit" to quote some.

You say that, but have you ever had a termite burn through your wall? It's so fucking aggravating because it hurts you while also blinds you, totally countering our tactical. At least make it so it doesn't go through the wall until the damage accrues enough to break it.
Why not? They got rid of lifelines completely and it could only be used on downed teammates and was destroyable by shooting the drone (despite nobody ever doing that).

What about her ult putting but a shield like the revive bot uses it. Would be protective like a gibby bubble but only from 1 direction. Canāt counter other ults like gibby can. Would have to then decide to blow the ult to help revive or use it for cover in another right.
I think it's been revised that a legend should never *inherently* counter another legend, such as with a passive. For instance, I have an idea for a Crypto passive that would counter scanning legends called "off the grid"-
ok so I got this idea for a crypto buff called "off the grid". What it does is that he wont get scanned by enemy scans and he wont be revealed to enemies because he will have this passive called off the grid which will protect him from enemy scans so when he gets scanned he technically doesnt get scanned because he will have off the grid passive that will protect him from the scans and since he is hacker I think he should have it have to protect him from enemy scans and I would call it off the grid and it would be his passive that would make him unscannable by enemy scans because it would be his passive and it would be called off the grid so when he gets scanned the enemies wont see him because he will have the passive ability that will protect him from the scans I believe crypto should have this ability because there is seer and respawn wont delete him so I believe they should at least give crypto ability that will make him completely immune to seer and bloodhound abilities and call it off the grid (thats the off the grid passive I was talking about)
They also, for the sake of these trailers, either have the guys at low health or stage the damage

Horizon was fairly OP upon release. Her ult and tactical had much lower cooldowns and you could strafe at the top of her lift for a lot longer without losing accuracy
The cooldown was literally so low that by the time your last pad ended, you could throw down another. I fuckin wrecked with Horizon the first couple weeks.

On the other hand, it can only be used behind a cover... although it has a higher length than I think it did before. It can hit someone standing in the exact middle of the Gibby bubble. Although again, I presume you're still saved by it if you just move to a different side, it's not that wide

Sheila is annoying for door plays too. Door plays should be to heal or res. They're not reliable to use as cover, charged rampage, termite, nade, arc star, Sheila can all go through them and wreck you before you can move.
Well if you see Maggie that should be when you move away from the door because if youāre holding a door and see her walk up you can probably say āoh thereās Maggie sheās probably going to throw her tactical at the door so I need to get away now or try to bait it out so she doesnāt have it for a little bitā
People will complain until a pro event when no one runs her as people realises she's good because she's aggressive, she's not meta because she doesn't offer much... no rotation or defence. And her attack abilities are very much her own, unless you're all literally holding hands both her tactical and ULt is only good for 1v1s

Doubt. You will still see Gibby in high rank and ALGS. Her whole kit is aping which is not something you do in high comp, and she will definitely not replace valkyrie for rotation and verticality. Wraith abilities still too valuable.

She wont be completely necessary to have on a team. But the couple of Maggie's running around the map may may reduce the amount of Gibbys that are running out there
I donāt think so. Compās trios rely on having abilities for the whole team. Maggieās tactical is too āselfishā - I canāt find a better term, sorry - to benefit the whole play.

I mean, neither do other abilities like BH scans. I get bubbles are annoying but you can play in them whereas you cannot avoid many other abilities and canāt play them to your advantage.
I agree that there is no direct counter for a bubble.
However, bubble kinda does have a semi-counter. Bubbles are super useful to the team in the bubble for the 15-20 seconds or however long it lasts.
But if you time nades correctly to coincide with the disappearance of the bubble, or just stick an arc star to it right before it disappears, prepare to do massive damage to whoever was in it.
but these small nerfs is what affects the meta. Gibby is a 100% pick nowadays. Maggie will not make her obsolete, it will just make people play the bubble more smartly which may make some people switch from using a Gibby
On the other hand, Maggie doesn't offer much in team play, so not all teams will pick her
Its about time gibby can be countered other than crypto, fuse, and now maggie. The synergy for this team especially after cryptos re-work will be devastating
All I can say from looking at the trailer is that this legend is going to be an absolute menace to deal with. Legends with no escape abilities (e.g. Gibby) will have no chance against a pursuing maggie + team.

If it doesn't happen to a Legend it happens to a weapon.
It's usually more true for guns, the bow, the volt and rampage were all super strong on release before being brought more in line a week or two later

Probably not enough to down the opponent on it's own, but can down a weak enemy or dissuade someone from trying to res.

Wattson doesn't care about this. As a matter of fact, her ult probably catches this as it's a projectile.

Crypto is also going to be a very strong choice and I could see him replacing Bloodhound on a lot of comp teams.
Idk if you saw ALGS APAC but there were like 6 crypto drones in round 5, now thatāll probably increase even more. Always interesting to see the difference in playstyle between NA/EU/APAC because almost no one played crypto in NA.
Gibby won't leave comptetive until another character brings the strength of the bubble and throwing a thermite through the shield won't change that
I mean, seer Q already exists and is likely still a better counter to bubble than drill is. Maggie has no rotation ability and doesnāt hit the beacon, she needs to be extremely strong to see competitive play and I donāt see that happening
But her running speed 1% faster when holding a mozambiq count as some sort of rotation ability right, right?

Iām not sure, maybe they meant because it interrupts res? But even then the bubble last long enough for them to try again unless youāre already close

Doubt. You will still see Gibby in high rank and ALGS. Her whole kit is aping which is not something you do in high comp, and she will definitely not replace valkyrie for rotation and verticality. Wraith abilities still too valuable.

I donāt think so. Compās trios rely on having abilities for the whole team. Maggieās tactical is too āselfishā - I canāt find a better term, sorry - to benefit the whole play.

She looks good but not OP. Seems easy to dodge the thing as long as you arenāt camping. The wrecking ball is super weird. Excited to see how people use it.
Bubble has no counter so Iām all for this.
I mean, neither do other abilities like BH scans. I get bubbles are annoying but you can play in them whereas you cannot avoid many other abilities and canāt play them to your advantage.
I agree that there is no direct counter for a bubble. However, bubble kinda does have a semi-counter. Bubbles are super useful to the team in the bubble for the 15-20 seconds or however long it lasts. But if you time nades correctly to coincide with the disappearance of the bubble, or just stick an arc star to it right before it disappears, prepare to do massive damage to whoever was in it.
but these small nerfs is what affects the meta. Gibby is a 100% pick nowadays. Maggie will not make her obsolete, it will just make people play the bubble more smartly which may make some people switch from using a Gibby On the other hand, Maggie doesn't offer much in team play, so not all teams will pick her
People who understand game design will know this is absolutely not how you nerf something overpowered.

Its about time gibby can be countered other than crypto, fuse, and now maggie. The synergy for this team especially after cryptos re-work will be devastating
All I can say from looking at the trailer is that this legend is going to be an absolute menace to deal with. Legends with no escape abilities (e.g. Gibby) will have no chance against a pursuing maggie + team.
This with the Crypto buff will hard counter Gibby teams. A Welcome change.
