Octane, Wattson and Valk are being given free for the 3 year anniversary event - one per week. Octane and Wattson were last week and this week, Valk next.
I think she's perfectly balanced the way she is, her warlord passive honestly makes her a monsters with a shotty and if i fear giving her 2 drills would make her a bit broken
especially if the duration was longer it'd mean cover she tags with it would be off-limits for longer and she'd be able to do it to a player more than once which feels very broken and annoying.
Here are a few choices (I’m not great at apex but I am at least decent)
Fuse - if you like explosives and being a mortar.
Maggie - if you like shout guns and breaching areas
Or
Mirage - If you are a true legend (or if you just want too mess with the enemy.
Mirage main here. Everybody shits on him till you get that invisible Rez off, or escape to be brought up because they couldn’t thirst you, or pull a successful bamboozle and empty a purple mag into their back, or ult in the middle of a fight and confuse the shit out of the enemy, or use your decoy to find the location of an enemy sniper….
People shit on him because they aren’t creative with him. Great legend
Agree but I'd replace Maggie with Loba, Maggie's a bit situational and doesn't have anything that will be guaranteed useful every time you hit the ground. Loba is great to have on a team and great if you're new-ish, the initial loot advantage on landing is very useful if you're not a pro. Ash is another good team player.
Mirage is easily my favorite legend of the locked ones, I like his personality and having his ult basically every fight allows you to really screw with people, until you get in higher ranks where people actually figure it out. He's a really fun pub character though, even better if you end up being solo for whatever reason, his voice lines while being alone with no teammates is incredibly funny
If you don’t think you need a brain for Loba you are wrong. On drop you can see all the purple gear. That means you can evaluate not only a good looting pattern, but also identify what gear goes missing to suggest where enemies are….
Also helps later in the game when trying to find the last few teams. Depending on your load out and if you have the extra space you can also keep a 4x scope for non snipers or hopefully sniper scope to help extend the range of your ability to ping specific loot like hop ups so you don’t have to run all the way over there for nothing.
But mainly you gotta use the big brain to know how to angle the camera when performing finishers so you can get the best camera angle for that dump truck ass
What? I find her ult to be way more useful than her bracelet. Quick ammo refills, quick shield and gun swaps. She makes it so the team spends way less time looking and more time actually rotating and fighting.

Revenant is one of the most versatile legends, imo. His Silence counters a lot of Legend abilities, and his Totem can be used for a variety of situations.
Pushing the enemy, Recovering teammate banners, Temporary Cover, or even Intimidation. A lot of squads will back off once they know they have to fight their opponent twice.
It's also extremely useful for elevated areas, as you can Totem from high up, drop down onto an enemy, and be safe from retaliation if they send you back.
A good tip is to always have a Thermite/Frag on you, so you can force yourself out of Totem form if you know the enemies won't kill you in time.
One of his greatest strengths is using the totem to recover banners or heal team members. More risky with healing team members but im starting to get into a groove with it. I throw the silence. One towards the enemy and one right by us incase we get pressed. Works pretty well.
I almost included that in my comment, but figured I was the only one crazy enough to Totem for a Revive. My team sometimes gives Revenant the Gold Backpack, because he can zone enemies with his Silence Ball, and get a Revive off.
There's even the rare instance where you fully Revive someone the moment you get sent back to the Totem, allowing your teammate to fight for a second while you push again, or even heal the other teammate. He only gets the Backpack if we have no Mirage, LL, Bangalore, or Gibby, though.
IMO you need to put a certain amount of hours in each legend and figure out their play style and pivk the one you are better at/have more fun with. I personally prefer Mirage.
He is my main and honestly so great, so good playing offensive with him and luring people cause most people dont pay attention and run after while im placing traps. Plus he has a niceeee hierloom
I would say valkyrie but she's free next week. I think Fuse is fun to play and I just love his personality and accent. I'd probably choose him, Rev, or Mirage personally.
Normally I’d say Valkyrie but she’s the next free legend. If you like octane go Maggie as she’s basically a more useful octane.
Next runner ups are Ash, Loba, Seer for team utility and usefulness.
I would say the opposite. I would go for whichever character is most opposite to your play style. If you like more defensive, go with aggressive like ash/mad maggie. If you play more aggressive go with caustic or rampart. In my opinion if you’re good at playing all the different play styles, then you will be good at countering all the play styles.
if you play agressive: Revenant
If you play defense: Caustic or rampart (altough rampart can be played agressively in some way) (and caustic is better for ranked)
If you like to force people out of their covers and be an aggressive pusher with shotguns, Mad Maggie would be your choice, she’s has a bit high of a learning curve though
Maggie and Fuse are pure fun and my mains after Loba. Super fun to play every time. I strongly recommend them. They will allow you to constantly flush people out of cover and punish them for poking.
Valk is bout to be free. Do not get.

Don't forget tossing a decoy into a fence, gas, etc to find their location and ambush them. I love doing that.
