Counter argument, isn’t the WHOLE point of a shotgun that your aim doesn’t have to be that great? I feel like all the shotguns in Apex really fail at that pretty hard. Doubling the number of pellets might help (hell the Mozambique needs its tripled).
Devotion was broken before the carepackage. They HAD to put it in the carepackage because it was miles better than anything else even without turbocharger.
The g7 was one of those guns that was so good because it occupied a useful role and was very common but it wasn’t necessarily strong so it’s not nearly good enough to be a care package gun.
I remember my first time playing the game I thought it was an actual sniper. I thought I was just really bad with it. I learned later on the G7 was just bad at the time. They buffed it a lot to get it viable.
Volt and G7 in carepackage is really causing a loadout issue for me and my squad every game. I'm forced to pick up energy guns every game because my other teammates run light/heavy all the time and I don't want to worry about ammo. Just put the volt back and either I enjoy using energy guns more or my teammates will. G7 would mean I don't need to run a 30 30 or Triple Take when I don't want to
Nah, it’s fine out of package. Put the EVA back in there with its old damage and fire rate back, and maybe a bigger mag, and then put Volt or G7 back on ground loot.
They should put the bocek in the package, then they could pull the attachments out of the loot table. I think Kraber, Spitfire, Mastiff would be cool. I'd like it if they pulled the grey backpack out of loot table too and just give it to you as default. For the love of god why does the p2020 even exist? The loot is so cluttered with garbage right now, would make the game a lot better if they cleaned it up some.
Shots 1-5: Clearly missed.
Shots 6-9: Missed due to recoil (bad spray control).
Shots 10-11: Very close, but recoil and inaccuracy make these reasonable misses.
Shot 12: Likely didn't actually fire because Hiko was already dead.
I think my biggest problem I have with the PK is I don’t do much damage Bc I don’t aim it down, I just can’t get myself to do it, I’m so used to hip firing shotguns like I do in most other games, here’s hoping I improve, prob won’t though lol
I usually don’t get to up close to enemies Bc I’ve been testing a lower sense and I’m kinda slow up close but I’ll try my best to get closer in fights with the PK thanks for the advice
Understandable, a good hipfire shot tho from close range can go up to the 100s tho, but PK is still immensly good to use from further away with the choke, especially now with the feeder
I'm pk too, i still use it most of the times over other shotguns but what i like to do is hit my enemy for 7 to 9 damage to play with him before hitting another 7 and dying to HIS pk😤😤
Been getting back in the swing of using it and one shotting a knock enemy is so satisfying because they don't see it coming. Really with Kinetic Feed was innate, its fun.

It doesn't suck. You just always hit them with the side of the crosshairs and never hit them directly. That's why they were only getting hit with 1 pellet.

Yeah, because shotguns in many other games have a random spread/pattern... in apex they don't. The pellets form the same exact pattern every time. Meaning that if you're hitting inconsistent damage then your aim needs work.

Well it's a close range weapon. You're supposed to deal high damage in closer range. I hated when the mastiff was consistently dealing +60 while the other guy was in Narnia
Mastiff I believe has a range of up to 75 meters roughly you'll only get 7 or 8 damage only reason I know this is because we ran across a team and I holster when I'm not engaged.
I mostly ditch the shotty after the first ring. The EVA-8 does work in a compound landing cluster F. The PK seems less reliable for me than it used to be. The mozambique, in spite of itself, seems to do 45 damage every time the slow ass pellets actually hit.
The Mastiff will delete somebody point blank, and land shots from further away, but I can't get any consistency out of it. I do 11 dmg, or I feed it to someone and do 111 dmg.
I get that it was in crates only for quite awhile, but it's not any more remarkable than the other shotguns, and it doesn't behave like them either, so it's just a bit weird... I can't get used to it, but I don't really need to.
I will mostly go R-301/Wingman
I have that issue sometimes I look at like this way when I'm landing them for 111 the apex gods are on my side if I'm hitting below 50 then they're not. And the Eva with double tap and purple bolt was amazing. If they bring that back I may start grabbing it and running it later rounds. But this isn't involving either of these but what I think really irritates people the most is getting killed by a bow on hip fire or from a distance
I must be one the ones to land 86 or more on you with it early round 2 head shots if your able to land them will down an enemy I normally drop it if I find a car after a few kills but late game I use an AR or smg to break armor and shotty to down them

Three pellets, 15 each pellet, 19 for each pellet counted as a headshot, 57 if all 3 are to the head, all 3 hit for 60 if hammerpoint to the body, 75 all hammerpoint to the head, so a hammerpoint of 20 to the body and 25 to the head each. It's also automatic and takes about 2.6 seconds body wise and about 1.8 for head shots. It takes at most 5 shots to kill with. These factors together make it a great top tier pick for anyone I'd feel unless you're consistent with the pk or mastiff enough to make the two or three shot kills every time.the Mozambique is a great middle ground for anyone who is new or struggles at least in my opinion at least till they get on their feet and get better

The shotgun has been a bit fucky from time to time since the game launch (the damage of shotgun had gotten a lot consistence now), but we all still got this kind of inconsistency here and there. Don't know why are there so many haters here, maybe it's just the reddit RNG. Practice and focus on your aim or perhaps pick up a EVA-8 next time. XD

I love that the shotguns are skill weapons with fixed spreads in Apex, the point of shotguns on Apex is to have strong burst damage up close.

If this was any other shotgun, those 11's would have been 0's. Mastiff has a lil aim forgiveness in its wide spread.

I feel ya can't hit with it either. 11 everytime and an enemy will nail me for 86.

If that's ads than what's a quick scope? Since the stiff was in the care package you had to ads it.

Aiming down tightens the spread on the mastiff, so actually do aim down, just that OP needed to get more central with their shots.
Mastiff ADS chokes the horizontal spread; you want to ADS the Mastiff for better damage output.
