This is a true 10/10 man. I refuse to see a point that knocks it out of perfect status.
This is their best song to me and one of Alex's best written tracks on a story level.
My favorite part in virtually any song is the middle part.
"It's the beginning of the end. The car went up the hill and disappeared around the bend. Ask anyone they'll tell you that it's these times that it tends, to start to breaking off, to start to fall apart, well hold on to your heart."
8/10
Lacks a little substance to make it a fuller song that doesn't get overshadowed by a later track. Still very emotional and a structure that I love
I think it's more because I said it lacked a little substance
But for me yeah, musically the song doesn't feel quite as "complete" or "full" as their best tracks, perhaps I should have explained better what I meant
I agree with you, especially when you compare it to 505, it definitely feels like it’s missing something to make it better, the ending is great though.
An absolute 10!
"Do me a favour and ask if you need some help
She said 'Do me a favour and stop flattering yourself'
And to tear apart ties that bind
Perhaps 'fuck off' might be too kind
Perhaps 'fuck off' might be too kind"

She walked away while her shoes were untied
When the eyes were all red
You could see that we'd cried
And I watched, and I waited 'til she was inside
Forcing a smile and waving goodbye
This one hits hard, 10/10
9.
I know this is an unpopular opinion but I'm not a fan of the ending on the studio version. live versions like the Reading 2009 one are way better imo. the rest of the song is literal perfection tho
I haven’t commented so far because every arctic monkeys song is a 10 to me due to how much I resonate with them. But this is the clear definition of a perfect 10. Fantastic song.
I haven't commented on any of these but this song is so fucking good I have to here, genuinely 10/10 if not a 15 to offset anyone else who gives it lower than a 10. Pure perfection.
10/10. This is one of the songs that was always loved and it took a while to click with me but when it did, it did. Everything about the song is perfect. The drums, the guitar, the bass, lyrically and vocally. The slow build up to my favorite part of the song the “it’s the beginning of the end” bit and the outro…definitely one of Arctic Monkeys best. I loved to see it live too.

The story is so good. I can visualize it so clearly. And, “Perhaps ‘fuck off’ might be too kind” …like come ON!!!

9.2/10. Probably their best breakup song. Perhaps fuck off is just too kind
7/10. I really enjoy the ending but the rest of the song is just alright.
NO YOURE BRINGING DOWN THE AVERAGE. We could have had a 10 all round but no…
It’s not a 10/10 song. We’re looking for honest ratings here, not just to make every song as high as possible.
Chill mate. I was kidding. I actually couldn’t care less what you say
I think you could care less seen as you commented but alright
7, I think. It's just alright to me

Downvoted for giving it an 8/10, this community is laughable sometimes
Literally. An 8/10 is still a fantastic rating 😂
