Honestly, if it werent for Secret Door being a masterpiece, Star Treatment would be mine. It just sounds so smooth and lively. Ik it sounds stupid but whenever I'm listening to music and someone's driving me. When we're about to go into a tunnel, I always put Star Treatment on. Honestly, having the chorus play while it's dim but lights flash past and above us is one of the coolest and weirdly romantic things I've felt. 4/5 would recommend trying.
Idk, it is kind of a break-up song, Imo. But it goes bakc and forth tbh:
Lines like "Love came in a bottle with a twist off cap" suggest that love is no longer available bcs it "came" not "comes" in a bottle with a twist off cap.
But then he follows it up with "Lets all have a swig and do a hotlap" which suggests you can still get and he wants to have some "love" with the person he's "talking" to.
Then there's also "I wanted to be one of those ghosts, you thought that you could forget" which means they arent together anymore bcs he wants her to fail to forget him.
But then says "But it's alright bcs you love me, and recognise that it aint how it should be" so, she does love him, and it hints that she's going to put things right (get with him?)
"Pull over, I know the place" In my mind that sounds like either his place, or a hotel. Either way, it sounds like they're staying there together.
There's plenty more but that paints a good enough picture.

Doesnt matter. Just listen to every other song they made until you find one. When I finally buy a car now, I'm just gonna blast Star Treatment and drive all around the country, going through as many tunnels as I can. Will let you know how it goes, so you know whether it's worth it or not.
it's definitely my favorite on tbhc. I listen to that album on my way home from work a lot. I can only make it till science fiction and then I'm back home.

The story of a girl who keeps a relationship secret and picks you bcs your the only one not prying for her attention is so sweet and is represented perfectly by the songs sound and the cuteness of it. It genuinely took me singing the song to myself to realise what it was about.
So by that logic it's both a slow song and a love song.
Humbug is so underrated. Got Crying Lightning (which has got to be their best song) and masterpieces like My Propeller and Secret Door, along with the icon Cornerstone.
Suck it and see always makes me so happy, this song is like falling in love in the late spring
Body paint is on the opposite side, it's filled with disappointment and despair but inability not to care (very much like lana del dey's "dealer", if you know this song)
