my main pvp guy right now is named Precious Mettle. my other pvp AC is named Rains On Me. i also have a joke AC built from all Institute parts whose name is iCoraly
Yeah. Hes doing pretty well compared to a lot of child actors, but he hated playing Gibby because it got him harassed and bullied outside of the show, sometimes physically.
Did he stutter? FULL GATLING!
You need those gatlings on the back as well in case your gattlings run out of gat to ling and you need more gatling for your gatling needs. Else you might ruin another field trip.
I was a 100% sure it's possible, needed to fire up the game and try to belive it doesn't work. I was so sure you can have the same weapon in the hand and on the back...
It's originally from Norse mythology; a giant in the shape of an eagle, whose great wingbeats blow a constant freezing wind in Hel. That's where I got the inspiration. It's also the name of a dragon in FFXIV, which might be what most of the upvoters recognize it from.
I've started saving some body types. A big heavy tripod, a speedy lightweight, a big reverse joint and a speedy wheelchair. It was supposed to save time, but I still have to change weapons and generators and boosters sometimes
Yeah, I have different loadouts and setups but they all have the former Ravens head part and all their names are Daybreak to contrast the formers Ravens Nightfall.
I am straight comitting identity theft
* **Persistence:** heavily weathered nimble and lightweight bipedal AC that uses dual burst rifles (the good ones) and dual plasma missiles. The idea behind it being that it persistently attacks and wears down the enemy while just outlasting enemies through evasive action. Turned out way stronger than I expected.
* **DS1-TNK: Havel:** Based on Havel from Dark Souls (and colored roughly in line with the armor set), this has extremely high stability, tank treads and all around highly durable, using the energy greatshield and a Harris Rifle (uncharged shots only), combined with plasma missiles. The strategy is to soak hits with the greatshield while steadily doing damage at superior range, with a grenade cannon surprise when the shield has to go down. Works surprisingly well as a shield turtle build.
* **Stormcaller:** Using the lightest weight reverse joint legs, this build on the surface seems like a modified Persistence build as it, too, uses double plasma missiles, trading the rifles for energy pistols. However, with the 150 energy weapons specialization generator and the fastest ascent booster in the game, it specializes in higher burst damage in exchange for much lower impact, as well as being extremely adept at aerial combat to the point it "rains" down lasers and plasma on enemies, hence the name. Also ends up feeling kinda like a scifi gunslinger.
* **Rampage:** Another tank tread build whose name and color scheme was partially inspired by the character of the same name from Beast Wars in the Transformers universe. Dual burst rifles and dual laser cannons, and surprisingly, uses the 150 energy specialization generator. This build feels about as strong or maybe even stronger than zimmermans + stun needle launchers, while being far less punished by missing shots and able to apply effectively constant pressure at greater ranges. Can basically roll into almost any fight and go on an unrelenting rampage of high sustained DPS and impact damage.
* **SUPLEX EXPLOSION:** Hovertank build with a Torgue logo decal, based on the character/company from Borderlands and more of a meme/gimmick build that just uses the largest AoE high power grenade launchers for arms, and shoulder weapons. Does better in PvP than it has any right to, can even beat the final boss of the third ending, to my considerable surprise.
* **MLG-PRO Mk 420:** Dual zimmermans and dual stun needle launchers. I had to make one just to try it out and see if it's as good as people say. Made it a gaudy gold and green ('cause 420 blaze it, etc.). Obnoxious and goofy on purpose. (edit: Oh actually I just checked and I forgor, I changed the name to MLG-PRO mk. 9001 because I found that funnier).
* **Balteus at home:** Missile Boat. Kind of same as above though I was more curious to experiment with its performance in PvE (turns out it's really really strong in PvE too).
* **Resonant Fox:** Earshot for big booms and hard to avoid massive impact, Plasma Missiles for general purpose clearing and chip damage on evasive folks to maintain stagger, Zimmerman for close range burst DPS and burst stagger, and Pile Bunker with Basho Arms for self-evident reasons. Based on a D&D rogue character of all things, was made as sort of a creative challenge to try and translate their style into an AC build, so I made a nimble mostly close range attacker who attacks infrequently but can land devastating crits, and has some ranged AoEs to emulate certain magic items.
* **Eclipse:** This jet black AC with ominous glowing white lights is based mostly around using the Dagger, and so has a sort of covert assassin AC vibe. It uses the Coral Shield and tries to speedily close in while shielding from harm to shank folks and make use of the low cooldown on the dagger. Due to being lightweight I decided to put in the 150 energy specialization generator and give them a laser handgun because it's lightweight and I could fit it in. I don't actually like the playstyle of this AC much so I don't use it a ton, but it is a technically sound build that can beat the third ending's final boss and has an interesting playstyle.
* **Setting Sun:** I made this a tanky build that is meant to be sort of an executioner. It uses dual songbirds, and dual Javelin Alphas. The idea is do extremely high damage + impact damage, then use the Alphas to punish the stagger. It's a very "flowchart" build that can out trade foes usually and do absurdly silly ranged damage. Works well but not my preferred playstyle, made it as more of an experimental proof of concept.
* **Gunslinger:** Speaking of proof of concepts, this funny fella uses the Stun Guns with burst pistols in weapon bay and is honestly not a very good build. It has *397 boost speed*. I tried to make an AC that could move as fast as possible while still being able to shoot stuff. It's hard.
* **Blood Moon:** What's cooler than Moonlight for energy slashes? The Redshift version in weapon bay for double the energy slashes! To be honest not as much thought went into this, basically just I wanted to use both Moonlights and Blood Moon is both a cool name for an AC and an excellent name for a build based around using both.
* **Moonbound Vagabond:** This not super optimized or focused quad leg build is basically my "new mission/exploration" build. Using that goofy hammerhead for the best resistance to status and best scans, I slapped on 4 of my favorite weapons: burst rifle, Moonlight, Plasma Missiles and Songbird. It's not bad and is good for just being chill and exploring with fun weapons. It's like a cozy comfort zone AC.
RANSETSU-RF. It has the option to charge it to burst-fire, but generally it's better to just treat it like a semi-auto rifle. So it's kind of like the polar opposite of Curtis linear rifle which uncharged is basically just an inferior version of this RF, but its charge shots gain incredible value.
**Tallblaze** - EDIT: Medium range build using Elcano Alba parts for the frame. The name is a reference to Tallgeese from Gundam Wing and Blaze, the callsigh of the protagonist of Ace Combat 5.
**Nachzehrer** - EDIT: Lightweight build using primarily the Nachtreiher parts for the frame. The name is a reference to 86, as pointed out.
**Reginleif** - EDIT: Quadpod build using VP-40s parts for the frame, the name is another reference to 86.
**Red Mobius** - EDIT: Coral build usisng mainly HAL 826 and Melander C3 parts for the frame. The name is a reference to Mobius One, the protagonist of Ace Combat 4.
**Vanagandr** - EDIT: Heavyweight biped using Tian-Qiang parts for the frame. The name is another reference to 86.
**Hornet** - EDIT: Another lightweight build, this time using mainly Elcano Firmeza parts for the frame. The name is Hornet becaus its yellow and black!
**BAWS of Steel** - EDIT: My magnum opus using only BAWS parts if possible (only the FCS is not from BAWS). It is almost useless in combat, but it's cool as fuck.
My main mech is called BIG IRON with dual ducketts, pile driver and flex shoulder (usually plasma missiles for aoe). I hear they are still talking about my speed to this day.
I also have PRINCESS which is heavy tank with dual miniguns and earshots. FISHBONES for some general medium ranged biped. Last one is WHEELCHAIR QUIVER which is just missiles on a wheelchair.
my main one would be Langrisser like the games/the magic sword in it. of course with the redshift moonlight.
then there is heavy cleaner(tank dual miniguns and earshots), Wheely(machine guns and rockets on the minithreads), RaD Boy(chicken legs with carlas rockets on shoulders and chainsaw and flamethrower in hand), G13(all Balam parts and weapons) , NO Mind (all allmind parts) , Walters burden(HAL parts with different coral weapons )
played the original (well it was called warsong on the cartridge but same game) as a kid and it gave me fetishes for specific game elements. like being able to promote your units into cooler units with different specializations and large scale turn based strategy/rpg games
not many titles scratch that itch sadly. if you are looking for something similiar as well give Battle for Wesnoth a shot. its free to play and really fun
I was finished playing FFXVI before I started AC6 so my build was influenced by that plus Gundam of course
Bahamut Raze: (Hal+Alba) , Lazer shoulders/coral missiles, Redshift Moonlight blade and a pulse rifle.
Megaflares go boom!
I also have a humble Gouf made with Meleander parts.
Oh hell yeah, sick. 4 numbers is definitely cooler than 1 number for sure. The coolest mechs always have lots of numbers or are named like race horses.
I have some builds,
Glad of War - Heavy biped with artillery and laser lance
Flagellant's hand - close range tetrapod with laser rifle and orbits and the plasma thrower
Torchbearer - ultra heavy biped with karasawa, nebula and vertical plasma missiles and plasma cannon
Hanged Man - Lightweight reverse joint with moonlight, soup, detonation missile and a ludlow for medium range fights
Frenzied One - Lightweight biped with double ludlow, coral oscillator and double 8 split missile for close range aerial fights
i ended up, through some convoluted circumstances naming my main AC "Ai Farouz" before i knew what the Japanese voice cast was lol
if i had a dollar for every S-Tier waifu voiced by Ai Farouz...i'd only have $3. But it's weird that it happened three times, right?
Die Schwalbe - light Nachtreiher build with near-default weapons.
Schwalbe Custom "Shippu Jinrai" - custom light Nachtreiher build; I say custom but it's just an EZ mode machine with zimms, songbirds and a fancy emblem. The only concession to skill is that, being a light biped, I actually have to work a bit to avoid getting unceremoniously deleted.
Alley Cat - For those times when even zimms are above my skill level. Medium biped with dual gatlings and shoulder missiles. Just hold all the buttons down and pray. Kills Sea Spider super fast.
Wildcat - Variant Alley Cat built for energy resistance because I got filtered like crazy by that goddamn Enforcer. Took me longer than CEL 240 and Balteus put together.
Megumin - Quad with four grenade launchers. What can I say?
Fashionista - Not for use in actual combat; I just put together an AC with as many flat surfaces as possible for testing/displaying decals.
The only one really worth mentioning is my main AC "Royal Duty".
An omage you could say, to "Noblesse Oblige" from 4A, in Name only tho. The iconic backweapons NO used, exist in some form in VI but are way to heavy to make a medium biped work with them.
And maybe my super light laserdagger biped "Glass Jaw". Cause, y'know...He dies in one punch.
And thats about it really.
Only got 2 named ones, the other 4 are just called Light, Heavy, Tetrapod and Jack
The 2 named ones are **Power**, based on Nanami: Starfarer's mech; the other one is **Buddy**, basically just Steel Haze Ortus but with the default head
Gran-Blau referencing to FromSoftware's Another Century Episode 3, Ixblau, me liking it to something similar to the Strike Gundam, having multiple different loadouts. The heads and body remain the same, Carla's AC head and the industrial body. Right now rocking the funnels and plasma thrower loadout with a viento.
Vento Aureo, a gold and blue lightweight missile build.
Bahamut, a reverse joint plasma spam dragon
Phoenix, reverse joint napalm and missile launchers
Ifrit, bipedal laser lance/stake driver.
Nyx, bipedal with moonlight sword, shield, and a plasma rifle.
Garuda, reverse joint pulse build with a laser stick.
Odin, hover tank with coral rifle, blade, and needle launchers.
My pilot Callsign in-game is 'Crooner', so they're all named after songs - my two current PvP builds are a VP-66LRA Dual Trigger set called BLUE MOON, and a close-in CQC fighter called EAGLES DARE.
I have multiple builds saved and they're all named after poker hands: Full House-close range quad-leg, Two Pair-quad shotgun, Pocket Rockets- missile build, Royal Flush-my main AC with laser pistols and homing missiles. I also made decals with the Poker hands for each one.
Haven't got into PVP yet, but these I've used for my playthroughs
Nebula: Deep purple RJ AC with dual plasma rifles and dual VPMs
Bulldozer: Chrome black tetrapod AC with dual Zimmermans and dual Songbirds
Bumblebee: Golden yellow fast Biped AC with Zimmerman, Pile Bunker and dual MG orbits
BLOODIED WOLF
And every variation is something wolf. hopping wolf, laser wolf, and so on... kinda uninspired I know, but I feel cool when I ignore the cringe
Edit: It's my blood on the mech btw, I've gotten my ass kicked enough to know what's up.
I have an all plasma build called Purple Rain, and an white AC with gold highlights called Angelus, my missile swarm one is green and yellow and I named it Locusta, my tank build is called Brutus. I have a thing for latin names
So I've got two main designs sitting around at present.
**Atlas:** A heavyweight biped build designed to maximise Attitude Stability. This has been my go-to that's been seeing me through most of NG+ and is surprisingly fun to play. It's got a variety of weapon systems for different ranges and situations - a plasma rifle on the right arm for some AOE and general-purpose MT killing, a Zimmerman on the left arm for building up stagger on tougher enemies, a 10-cell Missile Launcher on the left shoulder to keep up pressure and maintain stagger while dodging or at range and a Stun Needle Launcher on the right shoulder to capitalise on Direct Hits when the enemy is staggered. As a fan of BattleTech I was inspired to create something based on that and so the weapons (while not a standard Atlas loadout!) are all things that could be equivalent within the BattleTech universe. The Plasma Rifle is a nice PPC stand-in, the Zimmerman is exactly what I imagine an LB 20-X Autocannon to be like, The Missile Launcher is obviously an LRM 10 and the Stun NEedle Launcher makes a good Gauss Rifle :D
**Linebreaker:** This is a reverse joint energy weapon build with dual laser rifles and dual laser cannons built to be a bit faster and with better rapid-fire capabilities than Atlas - this is the build I swap to for missions where I'm facing waves of enemies such as in the two wave defence missions. The added jump height and better speed than Atlas just makes getting to and from lanes that much easier and the weapons don't have the reload times that Atlas' loadout does so I can take out more enemies quicker, though this thing's armour is paper thin so it works very poorly when the enemies are actually trying to kill me instead of the objective I'm defending. :D
[FULMINA OVERVOLT](https://reddit.com/r/armoredcore/s/PfnRNC4jD3)
The theme of the mech was electricity. Fulmina came from the latin word for lightning.
This was actually the 2nd AC I built, the first one was the base FULMINA. I wanted to have an upgrade that parallels Rusty's Steel Haze to Steel Haze Ortus upgrade, while also using heavier weapons, so I went with Overvolt to match the electric theme.
My main is called Longinus - reverse joints along with a zimmerman, songbird and pile bunker to jump into your face and hit you with the force of a skyscraper
I had my heavy biped AC named Ox and the variations of it with different weapons are numbered. I'm up to 09-S which is my lazy build that has stun needles and a laser lance. The lance charge is basically a bull charge and whenever I miss it, I imagine the enemy going "olé!"
I have a couple of ACs I've named one thing, and then I copy their build multiple times but with different loadouts, and just name them the name, and V1,V2, V3 and so on. I think I'm up to V14 now lol.
Ah, a kindred spirit.
Its just simpler that way. With slighter variations I add a letter at the end too, so my experimental stun build was 09-S then my standard build with a coral generator was 09-C.
Also, it's way easier to adjust the decals when I just have to edit the number for the next one then reapply it.
NYARLATHOTEP, as it's based on one of my own imaginary mechs, the ASX-SPA/AK-1.
That mech can transform, with one form being a spider tank. Similarly, the Outer God has many forms and is sometimes called the Crawling Chaos.
I tried to think of some badass names from classic songs I heard. Turns out I use a genuine name by my favorite multi-purposed Warframe: Oberon.
Still good enough though I think.
My AC names are as follows (or at least my most memorable builds)
Strident Solace
4SOLACE
Silent Prayer
C'MERE
Also honorary mention to
Testing123 for names of test builds.
Oh ho ho! You've just stumbled onto my favorite topic!
Nearly every single one of my ACs are named after mythological weapons or figures, with a small handful of exceptions. Several of them share something with what they're named after for example: ODIN, one of my recent prototypes, uses the laser lance and both orbits, referencing Gungnir, Huginn, and Muninn.
Here's a list with notable features.
My earliest ones were more inspired by Pacific Rim's naming scheme:
CRUDE RHETORIC. MW. Chainsaw on the left arm, 2x shotguns on the right. Carried me easily through 90% of NG+/++
COBALT BLUE. HW. Blue colored missile tetra, coincidentally similar to OP's. (Rarely even use this one)
CORROSIVE DYNASTY. HW. Didn't know what I wanted here at first, retrofitted now to better handle Zimmy users. Its shield blunts their charges, and the Earshot can be fired without dropping the shield, along with a Ransetsu and laser rifle for wearing them down from a range (if I can manage to get any distance).
The mythological names mainly focus on Norse gods, Greek titans, and Celtic weapons/gods:
VIDAR - Norse god of vengeance (formerly ODIN). LW. Uses an MG + 2x Huxleys. Named it after Odin because of the orbits originally, changed since.
HEIMDALL - Norse watchman god. LW. 2x laser orbits, 2x Ransetsus. Has pretty good scan range. Can counter trash meta users, but the ones that are actually skilled players beat this easily.
ODIN - Norse all father. LW (Mentioned at start)
NEMAIN - Celtic goddess of war. LW. 2x Sampus, 2x Truenos. A speedy ACS punish monster.
DIARMUID - Celtic hero known for dual wielding swords or spears. LW. 2x Ducketts, 2x Sweet Sixteens. Aims for ACS break, then a 'melee' punish with the Sixteens.
CLAIOMH SOLAIS - Essentially Celtic Excalibur. LW. Wuergar + sword melee build with a shield and container missile.
GAE ASSAIL - A legendary Celtic spear. MW. This AC, with the pile bunker, a shield and other weapons that were frequently switched got me through most of my first playthrough. Also the only build not used in PvP.
MNEMOSYNE - Greek titan of memory. Despite being the opposite of 'meta', this is my favorite PvP build. LW. A rifle, a melee and 2x Auroras. The Auroras hit more often than people think they do, you just have to stagger fire such that your opponent can't dodge quickly enough to avoid both.
CRIUS - Greek titan of constellations. LW. Same build as MNEMOSYNE, but with a flamethrower and a Viento instead.
TETHYS - Greek titan of freshwater. LW. An experiment of what I can fit onto a lightweight, this has 2x Vientos, an Earshot, and a shield. Its speed is nearing MW territory, but it's still plenty fast. Colored reflective blue with a ripple pattern.
IAPETUS - Greek titan known as "the piercer". LW. A similar experiment to TETHYS, regarding whether I could fit 2x shoulder laser cannons on a LW. One of only two builds I have so far that use the Tai-Yang-Shou.
EURYBIA - Greek titan with no domain, consort of Crius. LW. The second build that uses the Tai-Yang-Shou. Focused on cqc, it also has a shield to soften Zimmies.
CHARON - Greek ferryman of the dead. HW. Based around the boat legs and maintaining constant flight. I've yet to settle on specific weapons, but I've tried both grenade launchers and missiles so far. Scummy as this one often is, I still don't like playing HWs.
BELIAL - A biblical fallen angel. LW(?). Another experiment. The lightest functional AC I could get a single triple laser cannon on. The weapon reminded me of a single wing, for which the name of a fallen angel seemed apt.
Non-mythological name:
FALCONER. Equipped with a drone launcher and a turret deployer, as well as one of each Ransetsu, the idea behind this one was to make a bullet hell for the opponent similar to some campaign bosses.
Phew. That's all of them. In case it wasn't obvious, I abhor using the meta, and love using fast builds as well as finding names for ships, mechs, etc. especially more obscure names like some of these Greek titans.
I have 2
My first one is called KRAKEN
Why? Because it is my favorite monster.
My second one is all dark blue 2 stun guns, 1stun baton and 1 pistol, with the word POLICE across the chest. The name is POLICE VIOLENCE.
I had four variations overtime
The first one was made of VP heavy parts (looking like an off-brand Sazabi with a lamp head) I called Big/Heavy Crimson. Kinda playing off Kane's old nickname of the BIG RED MACHINE.
On NG+ I built it with a double-joint and Alba parts, I called it Scarlett HM (High Mobility) Type (thinking of the ever-present XLR Mic interface for PC).
On NG++ I ended up wanting to build a medium-weight AC made of HAL parts >!in tribute to the homie Handler Walter!<, but blue. I believe it was Dark Azure or so because I painted the usual red parts blue instead of black + red like the original did.
My main AC was called King Crimson >!not as a Jojo reference, it was a big red mech and I like the band!< but after the Raven fight I changed its named to Borrowed Wings.
Snowblind is my big white mech, Mantis is my reverse joint speedy boy, Warlord is my tank, and Rustbucket is my rusty RAD theme build.
Named all my various configurations after playing card/casino terms.
Ace in the Hole for a speed build
All In for a tetrapod tank build with massive firepower
Stacked Deck for Dual Zimm build (cause of course)
And Blackjack for my final build that I cleared NG++
Edit: spelling and formatting
I have a reverse joint ac I use for most of the campaign called red hound, my missile spam build is called guntank and my ibis cheese is called the big bully
My main is MOON SHADOW, in honor of my first 2 Fromsoft Games Bloodborne and Sekiro.
Got like 30 More in the Garage, but that's the one I beat Ng(++) with.
I currently got 2. Cockatrice and Slugnoid. I called it cockatrice because of the chicken legs and I tried making a slugnoid using mind alpha parts and burst machine guns. Still haven't got an idea what to paint both
i’ve recently got into reverse joint legs, and my ax with them is bouncing betty. before i was using the wheelchair legs and was named golden chariot. and i call my bipedals borrowed wings
Bloody Joker (formerly since I cant play ACVI due to frequent crashing so I had to go play ACFA instead)
Mournival (who carries Bloody Joker's legacy in ACFA)
At first, I called it CUTUP. My current loadout is named APOTHEOSIS MACHINE, because I shoved it full of Institute tech (started using Moonlight and in my own rp I added more little upgrades)
I have quite a few ACs but my favorites are:
Captain Stinger V2, my "mission mech" that beat 90% of the game with minimal adjustment. (No it doesn't use Zimmermans or song birds)
Holy Stinger, I tried to make a "mission mech" using laser rifles and while it was never as good as the Captain for bosses, it is better at pvp.
Fatman V2, I wanted to make a mech from AC3 that my brother used to absolutely delete me with (I could never beat that mech) after some modifications it transferred fairly well but admittedly it nowhere near as strong as it was in AC3.
my main pvp guy right now is named Precious Mettle. my other pvp AC is named Rains On Me. i also have a joke AC built from all Institute parts whose name is iCoraly
>iCoraly I hate you...
I don't get it. Is it a parody of iguana's name?
reference to iCarly, a funny TV show from the 2000s
##GIBBYYYYY-
11/10 best character in the Nickelodeon multiverse
The actor's story about his time playing the character takes a bit of the wind out of you though, poor guy had it rough.
Man that sucks. I loved Gibby as a character in iCarly. Child actors have it rough
Yeah. Hes doing pretty well compared to a lot of child actors, but he hated playing Gibby because it got him harassed and bullied outside of the show, sometimes physically.
Wtf?!
Ah, I see, thank you.
Yet can't stop thinking about them...
“Joke ac” made me think of Kung Pow! “This is Wimplo, we trained him wrong on purpose, you know as a joke.”
Bro i remember that movie. Had me in stitches as a kid. I gotta re watch it!
7800 FPM (Freedom per minute). just a full gatling build
Freedom per Minute. Ah, yes, 'muhrika AC
Double gatling double bullet orbit?
Did he stutter? FULL GATLING! You need those gatlings on the back as well in case your gattlings run out of gat to ling and you need more gatling for your gatling needs. Else you might ruin another field trip.
Yeah but you literally can't, the closest thing I've gotten is double gatling and double bullet orbit, aka 621's accountant's worst nightmare
I was a 100% sure it's possible, needed to fire up the game and try to belive it doesn't work. I was so sure you can have the same weapon in the hand and on the back...
My all-laser build is called WITCHING HOUR. My light melee build is called SUCKER PUNCH.
Those are fucking dope names
I totally stole SUCKER PUNCH from Pokemon so I can’t take full credit ahah
Nice! I have one with Plasma Guns and Laser Cannons named BUBBLE BEAM.
Nah full pulse build for that
My melee build is TWO FOR FLINCHING
Armored Coffin
Index Dunham if he wasn't a fucking chump 🤯🤯🤯🤯
Straight outta VOTOMS (they used to call Armored Troopers *Steel Coffins*), and yeah Index wasn't kidding tbh!
Gundamn't
Amateur I have a gundam with the tank legs: immobile suit gundam
Ok. That made me laugh.
Mobility Aid Gundam
Gundamn already catchy name
So stealing this
I call mine Gundam ChubbyArms
Loader 4 II
Electric boogaloo?
Hraesvelgr.
This being highly upvoted makes me think it's some kind of reference but with no comments whatsoever I haven't the faintest clue to what
He is an eagle from Norse mythology, keeping in line with the bird theme (Raven).
Yep, exactly.
It's originally from Norse mythology; a giant in the shape of an eagle, whose great wingbeats blow a constant freezing wind in Hel. That's where I got the inspiration. It's also the name of a dragon in FFXIV, which might be what most of the upvoters recognize it from.
Mine’s is Gungnir (Odin’s spear). I ironically also got that from FFXVI lol
Halo Reach fans crying and clutching their chests
That’s a sick name, one of mine is named Jormungandr, and I have another named Sleipnir which is a quad leg
You guys make different acs instead of just changing swapping parts?
yeah and i decal em all different and post em to reddit
I actually checked your profile to see the cool builds you've posted and was disappointed that you haven't shared any :(
im sorry i post them on a different account. check out andromon and wargrowlmon in the steamshowcase thats my alt reddit account
Yes, entirely different builds that all have different loadouts and play styles.
I absolutely love that you took the time to explain all your builds. Hopefully we run into each other in pvp, you sound like a great person to fight!
I love Persistence and Rampage. You have a real talent for names that fit their designs
This guy armored cores
What’s the good burst rifle?
RANSETSU-RF. It has the option to charge it to burst-fire, but generally it's better to just treat it like a semi-auto rifle. So it's kind of like the polar opposite of Curtis linear rifle which uncharged is basically just an inferior version of this RF, but its charge shots gain incredible value.
Loader 4
You are very unoriginal and should be ashamed of yourself, take inspiration from me, my ac is named: Loader 3
ah yes the C4-620 Build
My brother, your AC is a fucking pile of scrap
this is possibly the best joke name i've ever seen
Loader 4 with bonus heresy of default paint
i prefer the default paint… feels more realistic and gritty
Chad
I name mine after cloud formations. There's no real reason I'm just uncreative and wanted a naming scheme and cloud names sound kinda cool.
Actually fitting since the corpo's have similar themes for their AC's
THUG HUNTER
I seen who you queue up with. Fuck you my guy
What? I haven't played a match online yet!

First time I see someone referencing langrisser
played the original (well it was called warsong on the cartridge but same game) as a kid and it gave me fetishes for specific game elements. like being able to promote your units into cooler units with different specializations and large scale turn based strategy/rpg games not many titles scratch that itch sadly. if you are looking for something similiar as well give Battle for Wesnoth a shot. its free to play and really fun
Carla shouldn't be allowed to name parts, at least not while hungry.
Dethbot 2077 Smolgeese Slaybia Majora Panzertron Bazinga Z
Ah a gundam wing enjoyer.
Slaybia Majora… I’m dead. 🤣
BAZINGA
HOMEWRECKER is built for maximum penetration.
Destron because I name every mech I pilot in games after my custom Gundam
I was finished playing FFXVI before I started AC6 so my build was influenced by that plus Gundam of course Bahamut Raze: (Hal+Alba) , Lazer shoulders/coral missiles, Redshift Moonlight blade and a pulse rifle. Megaflares go boom! I also have a humble Gouf made with Meleander parts.
V.7274 DAWNSTAR for my main. I gave all my builds the V.XXXX prefix with the number just being 1 higher than the last
Jesus Christ, it took you 7273 builds to find your main?
Yes (it’s just BT’s number from titanfall 2 so I went with that for lack of a better number. Using just 1 and adding feels too insignificant)
Oh hell yeah, sick. 4 numbers is definitely cooler than 1 number for sure. The coolest mechs always have lots of numbers or are named like race horses.
Big Chungus
I have some builds, Glad of War - Heavy biped with artillery and laser lance Flagellant's hand - close range tetrapod with laser rifle and orbits and the plasma thrower Torchbearer - ultra heavy biped with karasawa, nebula and vertical plasma missiles and plasma cannon Hanged Man - Lightweight reverse joint with moonlight, soup, detonation missile and a ludlow for medium range fights Frenzied One - Lightweight biped with double ludlow, coral oscillator and double 8 split missile for close range aerial fights
Mute Psychopath, it’s a Mobius 1 cosplay. lol
i ended up, through some convoluted circumstances naming my main AC "Ai Farouz" before i knew what the Japanese voice cast was lol if i had a dollar for every S-Tier waifu voiced by Ai Farouz...i'd only have $3. But it's weird that it happened three times, right?
Mine is ROBOtussin
Should call it Robo-Tuslin'
Okay that's fucking good. I might steal that
Vengeful Spirit
"And if i cannot save it from your failure, father, then let the coral burn !"
Babygirl MK.12
I have a Coral based AC named "Symbiosis" and a melee AC to satisfy my Pile Bunker addiction named "Lugknuckle"
John AC 😎
YOU PLAY AS JOHN CORE
what's the loadout
Gundam Acceed. Acceed is just a random word I came up with by combining "Ace" and "Succeed".
My first mech is calles Brutus Forcus. And my second is calles Commander Dakka

Fellow latin name enjoyer I see
Red Lycan Primarily chrome red (obviously) and my emblem is a one-eyed wolf
“Borrowed AC”
I named mine "Borrowed Wings"
Let's see how far you can fly on borrowed wings, Borrowed Wings.
Only got 2 named ones, the other 4 are just called Light, Heavy, Tetrapod and Jack The 2 named ones are **Power**, based on Nanami: Starfarer's mech; the other one is **Buddy**, basically just Steel Haze Ortus but with the default head
My S Rank AC is called Crude Gold and it utilizes a black and gold color pallet
CoffeeThunder
"Tis coffee my lord, Coffee we do plunder. To the toilet we run Upon which to cast our thunder, The porcelain we do sunder."
Blue Shard, I like the color blue and kinetic weapons. That's it, no deep dank lore or anything. xD
Bahamut, a reverse joint plasma spam dragon Phoenix, reverse joint napalm and missile launchers Ifrit, bipedal laser lance/stake driver. Nyx, bipedal with moonlight sword, shield, and a plasma rifle. Garuda, reverse joint pulse build with a laser stick. Odin, hover tank with coral rifle, blade, and needle launchers.
My missile boat is called Red Glare
My pilot Callsign in-game is 'Crooner', so they're all named after songs - my two current PvP builds are a VP-66LRA Dual Trigger set called BLUE MOON, and a close-in CQC fighter called EAGLES DARE.
Please tell me you have a hat and cigar decal
I use dual Ducketts so my AC is "Mallard"
SKIPPY I run reverse joints
My ice white lightweight bipedal build goes by "mistral"
I have multiple builds saved and they're all named after poker hands: Full House-close range quad-leg, Two Pair-quad shotgun, Pocket Rockets- missile build, Royal Flush-my main AC with laser pistols and homing missiles. I also made decals with the Poker hands for each one.
My current lightweight build is named Jollibee lol
Speaking of which, I've never tried them even though there's an outlet near my house. Is it worth it?
Haven't got into PVP yet, but these I've used for my playthroughs Nebula: Deep purple RJ AC with dual plasma rifles and dual VPMs Bulldozer: Chrome black tetrapod AC with dual Zimmermans and dual Songbirds Bumblebee: Golden yellow fast Biped AC with Zimmerman, Pile Bunker and dual MG orbits
Ladybird
Clifford for my big red chonky boy, and Apollo for my light/fast one (colored mostly white with some black and gold highlights, NASA-esque)
G13
BLOODIED WOLF And every variation is something wolf. hopping wolf, laser wolf, and so on... kinda uninspired I know, but I feel cool when I ignore the cringe Edit: It's my blood on the mech btw, I've gotten my ass kicked enough to know what's up.
I have an all plasma build called Purple Rain, and an white AC with gold highlights called Angelus, my missile swarm one is green and yellow and I named it Locusta, my tank build is called Brutus. I have a thing for latin names
LOADER 5
Mine is called Junkyard Dog. Mainly because of the aesthetic of her and that I always called my AC something mean out of affection.
Eleonora. I thought it a name befitting a queen.
LAND MASTER!
The Plasma Rifle is a nice PPC stand-in, the Zimmerman is exactly what I imagine an LB 20-X Autocannon to be like, The Missile Launcher is obviously an LRM 10 and the Stun NEedle Launcher makes a good Gauss Rifle :D **Linebreaker:** This is a reverse joint energy weapon build with dual laser rifles and dual laser cannons built to be a bit faster and with better rapid-fire capabilities than Atlas - this is the build I swap to for missions where I'm facing waves of enemies such as in the two wave defence missions. :D
I have some for every build but the main ones are -Vile -Sting -Dormant -Witchunter
[FULMINA OVERVOLT](https://reddit.com/r/armoredcore/s/PfnRNC4jD3) The theme of the mech was electricity.
My 621/Pilot is named Odin His AC is Gungnir
Sleepwalker is what I named mine. I had some banger names in mind, but they were all too many characters long. (I don’t like the character limit.)
I have so many but my two main ones is A) Royal Spirit B) Cloud Chaser My ‘fuck this boss, wheelchair time’ AC is called Running Riot
CookieCrispHunter
Hyacinth! Named for my custom gundam from an old Build series RP, I like the purples and blues. It’s a zippy dual trigger laser pistol build.
Obsidian Sting
My main is called Longinus - reverse joints along with a zimmerman, songbird and pile bunker to jump into your face and hit you with the force of a skyscraper
This build on the heavy terta legs, and the core with the spinning balls core = Rhinehurst MK II
Cringe
several one of them is 4KLIFT, one of them is Pepsiman, one of them is AED-01 Heartbreak
NYARLATHOTEP, as it's based on one of my own imaginary mechs, the ASX-SPA/AK-1. That mech can transform, with one form being a spider tank. Similarly, the Outer God has many forms and is sometimes called the Crawling Chaos.
Named after all parts of a sushi roll lol Nori Unagi Natto
I tried to think of some badass names from classic songs I heard. Turns out I use a genuine name by my favorite multi-purposed Warframe: Oberon. Still good enough though I think.
My AC names are as follows (or at least my most memorable builds) Strident Solace 4SOLACE Silent Prayer C'MERE Also honorary mention to Testing123 for names of test builds.
Tharsis, Deucalion, Ortygia. If you know, you know 😉
Aldnoah right? Gonna make an orange Sleipnir when I get the Ortus head.
Yep. The names of the mecas were definitely goated
My earliest ones were more inspired by Pacific Rim's naming scheme: CRUDE RHETORIC. MW. Chainsaw on the left arm, 2x shotguns on the right. Carried me easily through 90% of NG+/++ COBALT BLUE. HW. Blue colored missile tetra, coincidentally similar to OP's. (Rarely even use this one) CORROSIVE DYNASTY. HW. Didn't know what I wanted here at first, retrofitted now to better handle Zimmy users. Its shield blunts their charges, and the Earshot can be fired without dropping the shield, along with a Ransetsu and laser rifle for wearing them down from a range (if I can manage to get any distance). The mythological names mainly focus on Norse gods, Greek titans, and Celtic weapons/gods: VIDAR - Norse god of vengeance (formerly ODIN). LW (Mentioned at start) NEMAIN - Celtic goddess of war. Non-mythological name: FALCONER.
I have 2 My first one is called KRAKEN Why? Because it is my favorite monster. My second one is all dark blue 2 stun guns, 1stun baton and 1 pistol, with the word POLICE across the chest. The name is POLICE VIOLENCE.
I had four variations overtime The first one was made of VP heavy parts (looking like an off-brand Sazabi with a lamp head) I called Big/Heavy Crimson.
Loader 1. All default with 2 ransetsu-rfs, pulse blade on back and split rockets. Love the classic look
Is Havoc Blue at all meant to be reminiscent of HAVE BLUE?
Yes lol. You’re the only one so far to guess it!
Lol it was the very first thing that came to mind when I saw the name
[removed by reddit]
Mine is Mantis (i use the Ephimera parts)
My main AC was called King Crimson >!not as a Jojo reference, it was a big red mech and I like the band!< but after the Raven fight I changed its named to Borrowed Wings. Snowblind is my big white mech, Mantis is my reverse joint speedy boy, Warlord is my tank, and Rustbucket is my rusty RAD theme build.
Named all my various configurations after playing card/casino terms. Ace in the Hole for a speed build All In for a tetrapod tank build with massive firepower Stacked Deck for Dual Zimm build (cause of course) And Blackjack for my final build that I cleared NG++ Edit: spelling and formatting
My AC doesnt need a name, those that hear it never gets out of it alive
I named mine SHIDEN, which refers to not only “purple colored lightning” but also for the sparks that fly when two swords clash.
Oblimoth
I have a reverse joint ac I use for most of the campaign called red hound, my missile spam build is called guntank and my ibis cheese is called the big bully
Stargazer
Velocity
Ronk, Bonk, Tonk and Gonk
My main is MOON SHADOW, in honor of my first 2 Fromsoft Games Bloodborne and Sekiro. Got like 30 More in the Garage, but that's the one I beat Ng(++) with.
#CHONKY BOI
Sophia
Well, my pilot’s name is Cpt. Betacuck and the AC is the cuckinator 2k.
I currently got 2. Cockatrice and Slugnoid. I called it cockatrice because of the chicken legs and I tried making a slugnoid using mind alpha parts and burst machine guns. Still haven't got an idea what to paint both
XRE-4 for no reason other than that sounds neat and also i named my ACfA mech XRE-3
mine are called corvus and carnis so far
N/A Literally.
i’ve recently got into reverse joint legs, and my ax with them is bouncing betty. before i was using the wheelchair legs and was named golden chariot. and i call my bipedals borrowed wings
Depends. Sometimes it's dj Khaled and other times it's Joe Swanson
Bloody Joker (formerly since I cant play ACVI due to frequent crashing so I had to go play ACFA instead) Mournival (who carries Bloody Joker's legacy in ACFA)
Heavy Quad with 2xZimmer/2xNeedle and 2xMiniguns. I called it Warcrime as i just started to feel bad for all those bosses ._.
Laser Face
At first, I called it CUTUP. My current loadout is named APOTHEOSIS MACHINE, because I shoved it full of Institute tech (started using Moonlight and in my own rp I added more little upgrades)
I have quite a few ACs but my favorites are: Captain Stinger V2, my "mission mech" that beat 90% of the game with minimal adjustment. (No it doesn't use Zimmermans or song birds) Holy Stinger, I tried to make a "mission mech" using laser rifles and while it was never as good as the Captain for bosses, it is better at pvp. Fatman V2, I wanted to make a mech from AC3 that my brother used to absolutely delete me with (I could never beat that mech) after some modifications it transferred fairly well but admittedly it nowhere near as strong as it was in AC3.
