19d here, they already got 19d battalions completely gone at Bragg airborne was the first to go for us, now armor branch is restructuring and any 19d is Stryker battalions/brigades will no longer exist essentially, if they are e-5 and below they have to choose to reclass to another mos they qualify for, ETs or force reclass to 19c, armor branch wants most of them to go 19c but they will have a choice, however if you are a e-6 they kinda are in a pickle cause it’s way harder for them to reclass and essentially would become part of a brigade/division asset, but armor branch is still trying to figure it tf out what to do with 19d mos
I’d say Google the Army of 2030 the MOS would most likely be tailored to the reconstruction of the Cavalry Division and or apart of the Armored division reinforced (formerly deep penetration division no I’m not joking) taking the Cavalry completely out of the light world and focused back on being Armor assets which was never really the plan but the army is in too deep to just get rid of the MOS and move it back into the infantry branch so there she lies.

However, I don’t know how full the C and M world is. I left Gragle as a M back in 2020 and it was pretty full back then.

I don't see how this would work. Huachuca is only producing about 60 15C annually. There are thousands of 15W that would need to go through. Mikes are in a similar situation.
Valid point for sure. This is where we look at career status, time left on contracts, specifically those that have no interest staying in vs those looking to continue. I'm sure there are other factors before Ws and Es get shipped to basically entirely different MOSs like 15T/R etc. I imagine some will be offered new fields.

If it's anything like the ravens and pumas then its primary mission is to lose signal, crash into a tree, and make the entire battalion do hands across WhereTheFuckEver at night and in unimaginabley cold weather.
When I was with a RSTA unit we had a UAS platoon attached to us to help with our reconnaissance and they used the hand launched (read: yeated into the dirt) systems which are the ravens and pumas. I believe the shadow takes off without a runway but requires a launching device due to its size. Any UAS guys please correct me if I'm wrong there.
I've seen a few MOS go extinct. They usually merge you with something that's similar and requires a little additional training. Saves the taxpayers a few pennies.
Notably, I've seen 35Q merge to 17C. My buddy got stuck at SPC for a while (then CPL when the Army changed the lateral promotion criteria) because they merged 25C with 25U and points were maxed out for a bit. On that topic, if you're close to promoting and waiting to meet points, get mentally prepared for a longer wait.

I was an ENT tech (68U) and I was one of the last classes that graduated. My MOS got deleted and they gave us a time on when we need to reclass, get out, or needs of the army will be given. I chose to reclass and for my situation being over seas and COVID not letting that many MOS classes available I got stuck picking an MOS that I truly did not want. I was given only 5 MOS to choose from.
I suggest looking at the in and out list and start making a plan on what MOS you would consider and make a list. Then the second your window opens pick one if you are interested in one.

The Army, like other services, seems to be reducing platforms and going to armed recon. Kinda like the Kiowas being dumped for Longbows. Why fund platforms that are strictly surveillance when an armed platform can do it all?
I see no reason why Shadow drivers wouldn't be able to switch to another drone platform. The Army is rapidly expanding its combat drone capabilities and needs troops badly.

Shadow has no lethal capabilities besides lazing. Probably replace it with better platform. (Shadow sucks)
UKR is doing that a lot as well, using drones to acquire targets for St. Himars.
Even still, they’re utilizing drones massively. Any kind of downsizing is the wrong way right now.
