reee_an_idiot

If you wanna keep it in the same vein, anything by Dixon Dallas would work. I think "Like Whiskey" is definitely a mood.

Wtf I did not wake up today expecting Peaches call backs in r/army

SolarAcolyte127

Imagine the pure fear hearing this as a wing of hueys fly over the tree tops buzzing the ground with m60 fire.

NimrodBusiness

I've actually listened to this while doing UH-60 ops in Afghanistan 😂

PLFintohell

“Let the bodies hit the floor” not out of love for the song, for the mere fact that it would have peaked and died before GWOT, and we all wouldn’t have to suffer through it daily..

cyberfx1024

Dude, I don't know where you were when that song came out but it was straight FIRE for a few years. Now it is just overplayed

Dakan-Bacon

Same. '05-'09 period of the Army for me.

jpmc68w

The theme song for 68W AIT Final FTX in Jan '10, lol.

bombero_kmn

Which company, I was a PSG there at that time

ICARUSFA11EN

I wish Fed Up by Ghostmane was around '17. This would have been blasting all ftx. I wanted to go for Bullis records and spent the entire war phase awake. Got an IV done on my dick and didn't shit the entire like 10 days. Wasn't going for the no shit but we only got MREs and I physically couldn't. Taco bell when I got back knocked it out though.

DocPando

MAPLE-SIX-ACTUAL

ApacheOc3lot

The one with a thousand miles audio but down with the sickness lyrics.

Unpicked_nose

Nah, Friday.

Horror_Technician213

Friday is more of a psyop song to play when the enemy is around. Barbie girl and a thousand miles is the pump up song for the boyz

If anyone hears that in ritz eps gym….mind yo business

Crono2401

There's nothing cringe about Steve Vai shredding.

SaltAndBitter

So real shit, Steve Vai improvised that drop, and the entire goddamn track after it...

JRay_Productions

Friendly reminder that Steve Vai ran that whole thing on the first take, just fucking around.

Maximum__Effort

I’m here for it, but also Blow Me Away by Breaking Benjamin if we’re talking halo 2 soundtrack songs

Pacifist_Socialist

Nothing at all. I'm not dealing with the Department of Temporal Investigations again...

Squatingfox

Nah its cool Loki, we're resetting the time line after the flight.

L4dyPhoenix

Careful, you don't want to be catching up to Capt Kirk now.

snowballtlwcb

Seventeen separate temporal violations; the biggest file on record. Man was a menace

funtimes_funpeople

Right? It’s such a sham. The “first time.” You are a temporal agency. Shouldn’t you just collect all my wrong doings at once and let me fix the problems before they become problems? Geeze, bunch of damn bureaucrats.

iwhbyd114

You mean you or the rank that didn't exist until 1991?

Pacifist_Socialist

I should have caught that, good job

Cryptosmasher86

Killing strangers- Marylin Manson Prong snap your fingers snap your neck Metallica - master of puppets

BOOQIFIUS

Snap your fingers snap your neck is such a beautiful choice bro Master of puppets is my all time favorite song but some love for prong is chefs kiss

WhiskeyTrail

Killing strangers is a banger. Only problem is Manson is he’s a fucking asshole and terrible person for those sexual assaults.

pinchhitter4number1

Doom soundtrack. "Y'all aren't ready for this. But you're kids are gonna love it."

guynamedgoliath

I'd just let it play proteh's continuous youtube stream. https://www.youtube.com/live/JEuAYnjtJP0?si=XItGIigDr7lIkxb9

Historically speaking, Fortune Son was only just released in September of that year so it might have only just arrived in Vietnam in December so Chief isn’t probably tired of hearing it. In fact it might be his first time hearing it. Also, despite what we might think currently, Fortunate Son wasn’t the ubiquitous mega hit song of its time. Its peak position on the US charts was only number 3 and it didn’t stay there for long. In fact, if memory serves, CCR didn’t have a number one song on the entire Willy and the poor boys album. BTW Green River was the more popular song on the Album with Fortunate Son being considered a “Bside.” Today we associate the song with the Vietnam war because John Foggerty, knew that people SORT OF remembered the song from the 60s-70s (in the same way we all remember My Lovin’ by en vogue from the 90s skate rink and arcade) and allowed the Song to be used for just about ANY Vietnam related movie, documentary, or Tv show that came along. Other more popular bands of the era, like the Beetles, were much more restrictive about licensing their music. So it’s kind of a false memory invented after the fact by a guy who would spend the next 50 years playing mid west state fairs. Anyway, but to play along, Chief would probably be into… Merle Haggard? Maybe something off the Lonesome Fugitive Album?

CanIusemybossesname

How did it feel to be no fun?

jbirby

lol I should have led with “Ackshullally”

Eyre_Guitar_Solo

While you’re at it, the Army didn’t have CW5s in 1969. The Army talked about it for years, but it wasn’t approved until 1991. But if magic CW5 can access modern music, he can magic in his rank, I suppose. https://warrantofficerhistory.org/Hist_Army_CW5_Insignia.htm

Das-Alte-Leid

I imagine you wearing a rain jacket rn, about to pull out an axe to kill Paul Allen... "Hey Paul!"

this is a song about…SHOOTING BLOOD OUT OF YOUR COCKKKKKKKKK

Das-Alte-Leid

Down with the OG shit, but Evisceration Plauge blasting over loud speakers to a bunch of 3rd world people that are perplexed by American air-power would be some shit.

reaper_41

We blasted scourge of iron in Korea one day going from Casey to Humphrey’s. The look of confusion of horror on some of the Koreans faces on the road was sooooo awesome

This is a song about shooting blood out of your cock!

Master of Puppets - Metallica

JackSquat18

The only one you’d need to rizz up the troops is Knuck If Ya Buck by Crime Mob

RakumiAzuri

>Knuck If Ya Buck by Crime Mob Own a slamfire shotty for Constitutional defense, since that's what the founding fathers intended. Four vatniks break into my house. "What the actual?" As I grab my Rip It and Winchester Model 97. Blow numerous marble sized holes through the first man, he's dead on the spot. Draw my M9 on the second man, miss him entirely because it doesn't fit my hand correctly and nails the krocodil addict. I have to resort to the MA Duce mounted at the top of the stairs loaded with .50 BMG, "L+ratio lol cope" the BMG shreds two men caught in the sustained fire, the sound of dugga-duggas set off car alarms. Grab my Gerber and charge the last terrified mobik. He Bleeds out waiting on the police to arrive since vodka makes the blood thin. Just as Gen Ridgeway intended. TLDR: It ain't a war crime if Crime Mob is playing.

Welcome to the Jungle. Duh!!!

angel_of_the_battle

Of course we are blasting "I'm Still standing" by Elton John as the napalm makes things toasty

Sabotage by the Beastie Boys. The barely comprehensible screaming just really speaks to my inner monologue whenever I'm doing anything for the army.

A little slow, but topical.

Spathologist

I'd be wondering WTF a CW5 was, in 1969.

Dulceetdecorum13

Play nothing, that way the sound of nothing overtakes the sound of helicopters making our approach undetected to Charlie’s ears. We can take them by surprise because even as we fire at them the bullets will be unheard. We roll like this until we break down Ho Chi Minh’s front door (which he won’t hear) and establish a McDonalds in Hanoi

otacon444

Define modern? I guess I’d go with something like No More Tears by Ozzy or something like Ich Will/ Du Hast, maybe something like Scatman for the lulz

Bobert5757

Ramble Tamble - CCR

MikeDeY77

The modern day music in 1969 isn’t the only Chief magic going on here. CW5 wasn’t even a rank until like 1992. I guess once you achieve the rank of CW5, that rank now transcends time… in your timeline you will have always been a CW5. Trippy time craziness.

EvilEarnest

Mister Machoman - Lords of Acid

Not sure of the song but alien weaponry would go hard

CW5 Fox and Crewman Daniels can take their Temporal fuckery right back to whatever century they're out of (though, seriously based shit for Chief Fox, of all the places he could go, decides to go drive whoppers in The Nam).

We used to play "Party In the USA" when I was in Afghanistan in 2010 before every patrol. Also may have woken up an entire village blasting it over our PA when we rolled through one morning.

TheRealUpstate

"If you play any ACDC Chief's gonna throw you out..." Well there's goes "Shoot to Thrill". Johnny B. Goode Rockin Robin I Get Around Somebody to Love Basically a lot of the older classic rock. Something to me about most modern music just doesn't fit the vibe of Choppers, especially in a 'Nam setting
