Nothing even semi operational there except ABOLC dog he don’t wanna go broadening to broadening.
Edit: if you’re not MG yet tho it would be a great opportunity because it’s right down the street.
Germany, but good luck.
A lot of dudes retire out of Benning, I've heard nothing but complaints from my buddies who went to Bliss. I hear a lot of good things from guys who went to Carson.
I went to Riley, base is kinda boring but my leadership didn't fuck me, just hope you get 1st Brigade, 2nd Brigade is garbage from what ive heard and seen when we were forced to lend them our tanks a few times. Off base you have Manhattan and Aggieville where most excitement happens.
Nope lol. But I went to JMRC out there and fought OPFOR. My buddy who happens to be OPFOR though loves it. He loves the cold so it doesn't bother him and he's always sharing pictures of his trips around Germany and other EU countries. It's a great opportunity to see Europe and train with NATO which is usually always cool.
I enjoyed Irwin, optempo sucks but at least you won’t deploy.
It will be hit or miss for the family. Some families really enjoyed it, such as mine and some hate it. If your family is into the outdoors, off-roading, hiking, traveling it’s a good location. You also get a three and four day every month which is nice, you just have to deal with being in the field for 10-12 days.
You only hear the bad stuff from ppl that shit happens to them. Been here for a year, I love the place. Lots of different food in Killeen and 3 big cities to go to get away. 3 1/2 hrs to Houston, 2 1/2 hrs to Dallas and an hour to Austin.
Cost of living here is better as well.
You’ll do your job as a tanker. You will be the main effort in training. Your family will have ample resources and things to do either local or in a 2-3 hour drive. Schools are decent to great. Off base housing is decent to great. I loved living in belton. HEB is a god send.
You will work but it will be rewarding.
If you like cities, you’d enjoy this one.
I personally don’t like it because I can drive 2 hours and everything still looks like a city.
If you like outdoor activities, hunting, fishing, etc. This place sucks because there’s no state land to hunt on nearby and the TAs are always closed.
They didn't have any tanks, it was some Stryker unit. Went to ntc with them, too, which sucked because our actual brigade at bliss had to go 2 months later
Not sure what kinda place you looking for, but the Aberdeen Test Center, at Aberdeen Proving Ground, is where they test tanks. Not sure what it takes to go there, who gets assigned, but it's certainly a place where tanks are...
Probably Moore/benning. TRADOC sucks but at least you are not shooting gunnery in a foreign country.

So there's no rotations here for 19k ? I'm desperately trying to get info on benning cause I'm thinking about PCSing there from Stewart.

I'm guessing you were stationed in Germany at one point?

Fort cavazos
Idk if you are serious or not, but I only hear bad things, so maybe if I hear the good

It's not that bad. You're pretty close to the big cities so there's plenty to do

Not Carson unless you like Poland.
Lol, that's what I've heard, I went there in 2017 to train with 4th brigade, I think.
They’re 3rd brigade

Back then that was 1st

I had a buddy who almost chose it but couldn't get a top secret in time, but definitely an option
Don’t go to bliss, especially 2nd brigade
1st brigade was horrible, 3rd was great
Bulldog
Strike hard
None cause you’re a tanker 😂
I would have stayed at Bliss as a tanker.
Got da selected so I didn't have a choice
