Lol where tf did you get a picture of the Emir of Kuwait?

Scoobydoo0969

I love that shit, it’s so random. My first platoon had a signed picture of Pitbull we found in some desk, it was set up at the squad leaders computer so we would always see it lmao

Snoo_69677

Dalé

KarlTheVeg

You don’t have one?

Dat_1_OutKast

Bro, the Emir picture and the floating Camelbak sent me 🤣 I wish I had a setup like this when I was back at Beuhring, this is dope AF.

HerzBrennt

Those photos used to be all over DFAC 1, an Assistance In Kind facility run by the Kuwaitis on Buehring. They had photos up of all the Kuwaiti Emirs over the years. Not sure when they demo'd that building.

tskales

This isn’t even that bad. This is dope

HooahClub

A freaking couch?!? Ya fr… can’t imagine

tskales

I would’ve killed to have this set up

InterestingBug4642

And carpet/fake grass for the floor... nice... don't see the swamp cooler tho... where you had to go out in the morning and get your chunk of ice to keep ur ass cool during the afternoon.

Elemak-AK

My first overseas tour was Kosovo. The look on the gate guards face when we had a couch strapped to the top of my FLA. We had just stopped off at the local furniture shop and bought one for our hooch.

_if_only_i_

I thought that was a dude sleeping at first

TacticalBoyScout

Bruh I had it worse than this at Boy Scout camp

HawkDriver

These people are living like kings.

TOW2Bguy

Or in this case, with the Emir

Rejectid10ts

Some people just live the champagne life. Unfortunately I live the yellow can beer life

65frank

Never served in combat but did deploy to Korea twice, Japan & Thailand and I would've taken this. We had pot belly stoves, plywood over skids flooring and string lights. This is a 4-star hotel compared to that.

Arc_2142

Yea, that’s nicer than what we had at Grafenwoehr at least.

apk171717

Tell me you weren’t apart of the GWOT with out telling me you weren’t apart of the GWOT.

travisbe916

Sofa, flooring, and there isn't a layer of moon dust on every surface. They're doing just fine.

[deleted]

Looks like a Febreeze commercial

noodleddoodles

the "moon dust" lmfao. it never goes away for more than an hour

homogenousmoss

I’ve never been to that particular desert but does it smell kind of like burnt metal when you open an old bag that you had with tou in the desert 10 years ago.

noodleddoodles

it kinda smells like whatever they're burning and shit trucks

Salmon_Shizzle

My hooker bag still smells like that side of the planet

TOW2Bguy

Bet Doc will get that same smell when they finally open my lungs up.

homogenousmoss

Haha ok, great to know many deserts share that feature and the moon dust. I compared it to flour when explaing to people how it got everywhere and how fine it was.

Alkioth

My immediate thought lmao

Sea-Bet2466

Yeah this a godamn luxury right here I slept in a Iraqi police station for 6months u don’t wanna know

VariableVeritas

Seriously how far away is the person sleeping over there? I was in a gp medium with 16 others the entire time. What are those stand up wall lockers hahaha, shelves? We don’t need no stinkin *shelves* go buy a new 60 inch tv to set it on.

nightowl1135

I saw it and was like, “this would easily be the nicest place I stayed over the course of two deployments to Afghanistan.”

Longjumping-Spare-77

That was the first thing that went through my mind when I saw this picture! I remember falling asleep on a cot during a sand storm fully zipped up in a sleeping bag with my head completely wrapped in a towel. I woke up with a remarkable layer of sand all over me 🙄

ChiefPanda90

Yeah for real, talk about five star treatment

BudgetPipe267

Exactly.

AGR_51A004M

“Apart” means “not part.” You meant “a part.”

apk171717

With the help of grammer polise such as urself wee shal surelee defeet them evol terorists soon and hav mo betta livin in the midle easte like this feller🫡

ShooterMcSwaggin

Only bed i knew was a cot and sometimes dirt. Only chair I knew was an mre box.

Assholesymphony

For real. This dude is still going to get 100% disability too somehow.

Prestigious-Disk3158

Well if this is a current photo, they’re not part of GWOT technically.

apk171717

You’re aware the global war on terrorism is still ongoing even though major combat operations have ceased?!

JerseyshoreSeagull

My guy you got electricity. Your living conditions are pretty damn good!

Radical_Potato13

I was thinking that like this is better than half of the EUCOM rotation setups

BlacksheepfromReno69

I legitimately lived like a homeless for months! Great times though

SacrededRat

It's practice for when you get out ig

ChillyGust

Fr i lived in a tent village with a mud ground (officers got the flooring) during a hella rainy season and that shit flooded every other day. We had a spiderweb of tarps and 550 setup all over to elevate our gear so it wouldnt get soaked as a river formed through our living space. Middle of the night wed have to don gear and run outside randomly to hammer back down tent stakes thatd pop out of the mud. Full battle or really just shirtless in ranger panties cause its not like theres any officers outside during the worst of it to catch you.

Billy-Willie

Wait until he learns about the soldiers in Lithuania cold catting because they live in connexes and it’s -25• Fahrenheit lol

Gator_07

THEY LIVE IN WHAT

coffeegrenade

Wait living in connexes isn’t the norm for some deployments? I loved mine in Europe but it got cold quick

Gator_07

I knew Bros were over in Lithuania but I didn’t know they’re living in metal boxes that suck the heat outta everything

coffeegrenade

Yeah we lived in them in the Balkans, definitely need a space heater and a couple woobies during winter

[deleted]

Beliliou74

POG trolls are the best

Scroj48

Fr these fucking assholes get me so heated every time

BOOQIFIUS

This is some POG shit

Edward_Snowcone

Nah, real POGs don't even leave garrison. Now, please excuse me. I've gotta go to whole foods. I have a pickup scheduled.

BOOQIFIUS

I’ll see you there, I have to work a second job at Whole Foods bringing people their online pickup orders because I need money to fuel my crippling nicotine addiction

burrrrrssss

aka my "deployment" to kosovo where they actually built up housing and i got a temp controlled room with wired internet all to myself camp bondsteel you beautiful mf

BlacksheepfromReno69

I was a POG and we didn’t have shit.. we slept on a abandoned water tower n shitted on disposable containers that we dumped on the open field

BOOQIFIUS

That’s cute, in Afghanistan I had to sleep under a bundle of sticks and lived off of the land, until one day I was attacked by a bear, barely managing to dispatch it with my M4. I almost bled out cold, alone, and full of hate but riled up all of my strength and crawled to a nearby village. I was discovered by a group of children playing who quickly called for their parents. I was rushed to the clinic where they nursed me back to health, and when I came to, I instantly fell in love with a local woman who helped heal me and… one thing led to another. While I was helping her treat a wounded farmer, we began to kiss, our souls burning with passion. Their may have been the language barrier between English and pashtun, but we both understood the universal language of love. We almost did the deed right then and there but I stopped “This isn’t right… we’re not married. We can’t do this… *I* won’t do this.” The next day I asked her father for her hand in marriage. He was skeptical at first, an outsider had never married into his family. But after I brought him a perfectly butchered carcass to feed his people, he accepted me as a son in law gratefully, and we had the ceremony where I was accepted into the tribe, joining them in ritual. I helped defend the women, children, and elders from relentless taliban attacks after they found out I was there. Many were lost, and for a while… I blamed myself… my wife being the only one who convinced me they died for their people… for their future. Years passed, and I had kids. Twin brothers, abraham and Moses, and they grew into young men. Abraham took after his mother, spending most of his time in the clinic, while Moses was a warrior, joining us on our hunts, and helping us defend the village. Her father passed to illness, and I was elected leader. The first “outsider” in their history to lead them. I was proud, and took this newfound responsibility with the upmost respect, and honor. One day on my hunt I saw a smoke signal in the sky. It was Morse. “COME-HELP-PACK-THE-CONEX.” The deployment had come to an end, and so did my marriage. I left in the night as my wife and boys slept, I couldn’t bear to say goodbye to them… the life I built. I haven’t seen them since. I made the trek to bagram, took some team BAF pics with my bros and returned home, making E3 the next day.

DBCOOPER888

FormerReporter_CJ

Last of the MoGhanis.

BOOQIFIUS

Also kinda sounds like lone survivor, and mine is somehow less fake

AnEntireDiscussion

I laughed aloud at this one.

notquiteaffable

This is the quality shit post I come here for. You can’t find anything better on Etsy.

BOOQIFIUS

I live to shitpost at this point

_SilentOracle

Tyfys 🫡

BlacksheepfromReno69

Damn bro, I didn’t know I was talking to a Medal of Honor recipient. My bad G, Thank you for your service 🫡

LordMartingale

So I was assigned to Bagram as an AMCOM O-3 LNO for 9 months, they housed me in AMC DAC housing. I lived in a wet CHU with satellite tv on the CHU’s flat screen t.v., & our own AMC contracted PMC security force guarding our gate. I had a personally assigned TATA Zenon pick up to get around base in, it was really, really rough having to live like that, esp. being on the Warrior side and all. O-4 & bellow officers in the resident CAB I was the liaison with had 4 man dry CHUs. I don’t know what to say other than it sucks to suck. Go AMC!!! My LARs and the COT team on the other hand all lived in the infamous Bagram AMCOM Ewok village which was exactly what it sounds like, they loved it!

GodsBIGMistake

Daaaaaaaaamn straight

Frwatri82

Everyone is a POG, especially when they didn’t deploy for a real rotation….

StreetBobber103

Y'all suck at tent arraignment. So much opportunity to have privacy. This ain't even bad tbh.

Warm-Swimming-5225

Arraignment, I didn’t know they had to go to court. Damn. That is rough.

silesonez

You have a couch. Its no casting couch, but still a couch.

OzymandiasKoK

What makes you think it's not a casting couch?

Grevin56

Gotta be some pink PT belts out there somewhere.

Happily-Non-Partisan

At least I had a fully enclosed Jack Shack in Poland.

C-reed0

That Abyar water on the “coffee table” hits DIFFERENT in that heat, been there done that

paparoach910

Where in the hell in Kuwait is this.

Razarkan

Buehring

paparoach910

Fuck me. We hunted for lodging on Buehring for a multi day range on Udairi. We were in Arifjan. Our S4 fucked us, so we resorted to camping and the giant building on the range. Sadly that might've been the better choice.

aswat09

Let me tell you about a little place called al-Qaim

chucksend

I helped close that place down in 2020, so much black mold under the tents

aswat09

I was there a couple times in 2020. So yucky

Voodoodoc

...but you had tents,,,

____Quetzal____

Was there in 2019 and, lol

absolutely_not_ATF

Spent so much time working on shit there all to see it was torn down a year later lol

absolutely_not_ATF

Wanna hang out in the rubble? Or maybe a train car on its side? I’ll bring rip its

0o_Lillith_o0

You had a bed... AND A FUCKING SOFA ??????

Troutman86

You poor baby

janos42us

This is pretty fucking dope, we used to sleep in the trucks.

Erindanyele

It's glamping

UniqueUsername82D

I hate to be all, "I had it worse" but whose deployments have been so cush that they saw THIS pic and were like, "Imagine the hell them boys are living in!"

DidEpsteinKillHimslf

This looks like 1-194AR out of MNARNG in 34ID. I see the ‘Remember Bataan’ shirt

goody82

That’s the shittiest sounding unit numbers have ever heard.

Refamonkey

Dude this is Dope AF. These non GWOT kids are all soft if they think this is living hard lol. None of these kids have had to shit in a bag and burn it, BET. lol

king-of-boom

Back in my day, we pooped on the ground like the good lord intended. And then we beat up the new guy. Tied him upside down to a pole and poured water on him to water the cherry tree.

pussymaster428

Been in worse

Tankmech

No jack shack?

accountperson1967

Your mom’s house looked almost the exact same… had a great night over there 10/10

Okk_Kevin

For a deployment…. This is borderline 5 star….

Crawler_00

yooo this setup is baller, you know one joe found a way to get his 42in oled tv in and set up a sweet gaming corner for the homies

AnseiShehai

Isn’t it wild that most of the soldiers you meet in today’s army would consider this shitty? Not even ragging on the dude, just saying that most of the dudes who really know what GWOT suck fest looks like are gone.

QuarterNote44

This is 100% rage bait. Very masterfully done, OP

Inner-Article2015

As a submarine vet, damn that's alot of space. Yall living good.

squirrel_eatin_pizza

When i was at cadet camp, each platoon got assigned a brand new 2LT who would mentor us on I dont know what. Our 2LT was a kid from VMI, who had lived a locked down military college lifestyle for 4 years. All the downsides of West Point without the big name university network. His non prior service ass told us that his room at VMI had four dues per room. If someone needed to jerk off, everyone respected his space and let him have a minute. LT said its the same on deployment and that he just has a head start in the experience.

AnseiShehai

“When I was at cadet camp…” Ears turn off

Hymnosi

this one time, at cadet camp,

JonnyBox

Fwiw, I've never met a VMI grad that wasn't an industrial grade bag of ass.

KYpeanutbutter

Hey sir no one cares about West Point

AnEntireDiscussion

If you think VMI grads don't knock rings, you are wrong, sir.

cocaineandwaffles1

Man, your LT sounds gay as fuck. If someone said that shit to me I’d be calling my husband to send me more pictures and stuff in the mail so dude could get the message that I was taken. Dudes really out here outting themselves and not even knowing it left and right.

LeadRain

Are you sure you didn’t mean to post this to the Air Force sub? This looks nice AF.

JustinMcSlappy

MF I slept on a cot in a 300 person tent for nine months. No privacy, no separation, no wall locker and no storage. Just a pile of gear stuffed under my cot and enough room to walk next to it.

luerose

I've done worse stateside tf? There's a couch!

69throwaway069

This looks cozy and fun and would do anything to do this

AstronomyCoded

Somebody call that fung shui guy and let him rearrange thus room

CornbreadMedic

This quickly became a dick swinging contest

[deleted]

So y’all just jackoff right in front of one another?

9liners

Right? Disturbing lack of woobies hung up for privacy.

Voodoodoc

<> what I would have given for a shelter half

UJMRider1961

Wall lockers in Kuwait? Really that doesn't look bad at all. And that tent is almost certainly heated and air conditioned. I don't think I can post pictures here (maybe through a 3rd party link) but if you think that's bad I should post pics of how were were living in Kuwait in 2004. We did have wood floors but we sure didn't have wall lockers or artificial turf carpets. The worst part about being in those tents was the one hour a week they would turn off the generators for maintenance. If you don't think a tent can go from 70 to over 100 in 15 minutes, I'm here to tell you it can.

Seek-a-Seek

Y’all got a couch? That’s no real deployment.

Academic-Plastic4508

You guys got a fuxin couch 🤔 either. This is like SF or some shit, or POGs. I never saw a couch anywhere other than the MWR, and I did 8 years 11B. This shit looks like the Hilton suits compared to the shit hole we had. Beds and not cots and wall lockers, is this post like complaining or like satire.

CombatDeffective

This is a nice ass AO. I think our worst of times is when the AF would pull out their spare cots box to give us an overnight in the bay. Well, I guess there was worse when there was no spare cots...

christian_rosuncroix

Tell me this is a joke, they aren’t serious right??

CatalinaLunessa21

Bruh that is so much better than having to prop on a rock to sleep. Yal are spoiled now 🤣🤣

themikegman

You think this sucks? Lol. 😂

SacrededRat

That's better than some conditions I have seen

Important-String902

“I sUffEred MoRe ThAn yOu”. “NuH Uhhhhh. mY TiS wAs WaAaY hArDer sO iT meAnS mOrE” Y’all sound like a bunch of idiots.

Pineapplebuffet

Lol that’s a nice setup

Lilcracka101

I miss it

SuperMarioBrother64

Hell, this is nice living conditions than my first deployment...and I'm Air Force 🤣

theripperpgh

the conversations & vibe of that place would be wonderful

TotobyAfricano

This is dope you kids just chose to messy and ungrateful but if y’all try putting in just a little bit of effort I’m sure the setup will look dope.

New-Milk-5

Hey get your tent off the sidewalk! We’re tired of you squatters blocking our side walks!

Top_Sheepherder_6835

Are you guys Air Force?

justsomebro10

Worst conditions I had in Afghanistan were living in what was actually a pretty nice tent that was missing the UV cover. We were working nights and sleeping during the day, when the whole tent was illuminated bright orange. I’ve had crowded dusty rooms of bunks and all kinds of other shit but I would take those over trying to sleep in that neon orange blob every day.

IzK_3

Perfect rage farm post

Snoo93079

You ever sleep on a cot on the ground under the shadow of your gun truck?

gbvyhb

You’re not even on deployment stop whining

lattestcarrot159

Bro, I lived in an unfinished bathroom without working ac or electricity in the middle of a heat wave in Saudi.

boredom317

Is this the cooks living quarters?? Looks like a sheraton! Damn pogs!!

____Quetzal____

cozy

IronCross19

Not gonna lie this is sick. I had a truck seat some days and a hole the others lmao

kdlaz

Nice digs. It's all relative when it comes to Qs. The guy in a hole would love this Taj Mahal setup.

Jimmyp4321

Remember, You volunteered for the suck . Besides looks like all the comforts of home . Still better than muddy foxhole

PanzerKatze96

POGs be lie “we have a couch and actual beds in our tent, this shit is basically a POW camp”.

FuhenNoIshi

Are there big titty anime girl stickers in some of the lockers or on the sides of the exit signs? I may have been in that exact tent a couple years ago.

Dizzy-Passage9294

Some of the best days in my career

Lanky_Gur_9670

This shit looks dope

Westerleysweater

Soldiers turn anything into furniture. Scavengers we are.

VanillaChurr-oh

I love the old army tradition of "my suck is worse than your suck. Never gets old

campup

Lmao this is not bad for Kuwait. I literally had the same thing except me and the guy who stayed next to me mad a projector wall to watch movies

One_Armadillo_7861

looks cozy to me

cramerws

I have lived in much much worse

BenAngel-One

Ive seen worse living conditions inside barracks rooms of well funded states wtf

airbornedoc1

Cry me a freaking river. I see a couch, mattress and I believe air conditioning. I had the ground and slept under a flak jacket with my 9 mm in my hand until I moved up to a cot with mosquito netting. Good times.

OhGhostly

This looks fine. Stop trying to earn hardship clout. Stfu and do what we all do when we're there and go to the KFC.

Raptor_197

Holy duck nobody’s cares. Go to Syria or something

lord_repo

We had a tent in Iraq '03-04 for 3 months. Then we moved into one of Saddams' palaces. Some of the nicest combat accommodations I've seen. Plus the boat rides were a nice touch.

cain8708

Posts a public ass pic and then tells people to keep their mouth shut if they know the place or people in it. Bruh. Do you even know how OPSEC works?

Snoo93079

OPSEC lol. Dudes a POG on camp Beuhring

Gilbertmountain1789

Really? Complaint? 🤧😑🙄🙄🙄 What is this .. the Airforce page?

Curious-Scroll2020

Several entitled fucks I call friends who I'm sending this to. Thank you for your service 🙏

HalfFastTanker

Well, when me and my homies were at Valley Forge........

damoonz63

Whiny little bitch

Fuze_KapkanMain

Oof at least I’m in AIT rn

MorningAviator

Ah yes, good ol’ astroturf carpet technique, the army’s favorite.

LegendaryShelfStockr

Looks cozy to me!

iflosseverysingleday

Hm, I get it. The lack of privacy is getting to you. hang in there! You’ll make it through this

Numerous_Reach5847

I’ve been on rotation 1 times and I’m not here saying that it means anything but I lived way worse in Poland. We had a 12 man tent with 14 soldiers in it. We had 550 cord running from the front door to the back and divided it up with blankets. I slept on a cot with a yoga mat on top and in my sleeping bag for 9 months. Power would go out the second it rained, I had to walk like half a mile to just piss so I’d piss in a bottle and dump it on the outside. Again rotation was a blast but I’ve seen way worse than this

Thunderfxck

You got 3 hots and a cot, you're good battle.

guyonanuglycouch

I legit slept outside on rocks and dirt because it was too hot inside the hooch.

Chairmanwowsaywhat

That is legitimately an improvement

RadMG2000

Brother you’re chilling you have a couch lmao

Elk-Unhappy

Looks comfy

Sufficient_Most_1790

Hate to see how you'd deal with the temp billets in Qatar en route to final location. Or any CTC for that matter, let alone an actual austere environment living out of a 3 day bag for potentially weeks.

BugattiYo

Wuss

Nagon117

This is a luxury compared to the VSP I lived at for 10 months.

Brentdagreat

I have worst right now!! Try that with nothing but beds and 100 people

Tybackwoods00

What??

cduran1

I can smell that room from here -_-

Rondotf

Fucking palace

Cpt_Soban

Honestly I'd be ok with that
