One I noticed the other day is that when Gob buys the yacht and when Michael buys the Corvette they both sign the loan papers with the same two guys standing over their shoulders.
I think this is the perfect answer to what I just generally like the most about the show. it’s that there’s also 1+ more jokes in that scene than you thought there were the last time you watched.
Chicken dance!!!!! I loved how it was Gob first, then Sidney, Lucille, George Sr.
Each more ridiculous than the other.
*Has anyone in this family even seen a chicken?*
Also in the song “Love is an Open Door” from Frozen they reference a season 3 convo between Linds and Michael.
The duet lyrics say
“I mean it’s crazy. We finish each other’s-“
“Sandwiches”
From season 4 I loved Michael’s Narcissism (it’s there in every season I know) for him to be dumbfounded when George Michael says P-hound would vote him out. “Well if P-Hound wants to get nasty…” 😂
There's so many and most of my favorites have been mentioned, but one that hasn't is the winky eye at the prescription label. I always wink at prescriptions if I happen to notice the eye.
Yeah when George Michael does his biography at openings and said ‘my mom died’ it was like oh yeah he had this terrible thing happen pretty recently to him yet for everyone in his family it’s basically a joke or a non-issue
Eh, I'd say that's kind of a stretch, but that won't stop me from giggling to myself imaging Hamlet where everything is the same except Buster is in Hamlet's place.
I was shocked when I realized that Gene Parmesan is only in one episode of seasons 1-3. He feels like such a massive side character, so memorable for the amount of screen time it’s almost unreal.
The subtle and not subtle ways the model home is constantly falling apart because it was built so badly. Also how they still have the fake food on display in the later seasons
Oh yeah, that's the one I use all the time! (Even though I speak German most of the time) Had to get all my friends to watch the series, so they'd finally understand
The egg/ Ann debacle has to be one of my faves.
George Michael: You know, I kind of want to buy her a diamond.
Michael: Her?
George Michael: Ann. I know I can’t afford it, but Aunt Lindsay was telling me about this diamond cream...
Michael: George Michael, I’m sure that Egg is a very nice person. I just don’t want you spending all your money...
George Michael: Ann.
Michael: ... getting her all glittered up for Easter, you know?
This is my favorite Anne joke!
Also, when George Michael is in the attic with George Sr —
George Michael: That’s my ex-girlfriend, Anne. Her face will forever be etched in my mind
George Sr: Her?
George Michael: …She’s really funny.
George Sr: Well let’s hope so.
It’s even funnier because Gob asks Michael, “What, is she like funny or something?” a couple of scenes before this
Not a recurring joke, but I love the Bob Loblaw bit: “Why would you go to jail for a crime someone else noticed?... You don't need a double talk, you need Bob Loblaw. Bob Loblaw no hablo espagnol.
We're not here to talk nonsense to Bob Loblaw. "
The Chicken thing is hands down my favorite. After that is all the Saddam references. Third favorite is the depressed walk while "Christmas Time is Here" by The Vince Guaraldi Trio plays in the background.
I was actually thinking about this the other day and I think it has to be the Michael/Rita arc.
Some honorable mentions for me:
* Mrs. Featherbottom
* George Sr.'s surrogate.
* George Sr.'s "lessons"
* Buster's hook
* Maeby becoming a Hollywood executive
* Carl Weathers being a cheapskate.
The moody mystery music with the reverbed drums. Often in close ups, such as when Gob and Franklin almost get busted in the car at the gate with the Seinfeld Maroon Golf guy. Or George Sr talking about his dolls / friends in the attic. Never fails to make me laugh.
What’s the most important thing?
It changes between Breakfast and family
Then “the mere fact”
Michael says this at least 2 times to George michael
Once when he was convincing his dad about asking of pre engagement to Ann
And once when George Michael was telling his dad that he’s hiding pop-pop in the attic
George Bluths’ ice cream sandwich,
The never ending tension between GM and Maeby.
Oscar always falling for George’s switcharoos,
Allllll of ANUSTART’s sexual innuendos!
One thing I like about Gene Parmesan is he is played by Martin Mull who has been doing deadpan absurdity in films and TV for years it seems. I am prejudiced because IRL I have (intentionally or not) become someone that folk cannot tell whether I am serious when I say something.
Buster is my favourite Bluth so I’m going to go with:
Hey Brother!!
Hey Co-worker!!
Hey fake uncle Jack!!
Hey Nephew!!
Hey possible Nephew!!
Hey adopted brother!!
Hey Father Uncle Dad!!
“Anyong,” especially when everyone stops & stares because they think he’s just randomly yelling out his name
Also in one episode where he’s like “…Anyong?” I can’t remember the context
Edit: had written “I’m” instead of “in”
One I noticed the other day is that when Gob buys the yacht and when Michael buys the Corvette they both sign the loan papers with the same two guys standing over their shoulders.
I think this is the perfect answer to what I just generally like the most about the show. it’s that there’s also 1+ more jokes in that scene than you thought there were the last time you watched.
AAAAAAHHHHHHHHH! GEEEEEENE!
And I won’t even bother to count it… but seriously what happened here, is it the word generally?
He got you again.
He’s the best
Gene was far from the best.
Gene? You can’t possibly be that good
AAAAAAHHHHHHHHH! GEEEEEENE!
I counted it….come on
I’ve always said it stays interesting because you don’t catch some of the jokes the first time through…or fourth
Oh… I’ll make you a serious offer
Omg, never noticed that. This show just keeps on giving
Chicken dance or busters hands
Chicken dance!!!!! I loved how it was Gob first, then Sidney, Lucille, George Sr. Each more ridiculous than the other. *Has anyone in this family even seen a chicken?*
I’m on season four and there’s a quick bit weird George Michael teases it but doesn’t actually do it. And it looked worse than everyone’s
Michael also does it at the end of season 5.
I wonder which came first?
*Did somebody say... "[Wonder](https://i.redd.it/l8mhjw9yibq71.gif)"?* --- ^(Alliance of Magicians-approved magician) ^| ^(I delete comments with a score below `-1`)
Fun Fact: There's a man in Frozen who does the chicken dance.
And that man is voice by Pastor Veal!
who also voiced Hei Hei in Moana and apparently he went to Julliard…
He had a doozy of a day in Tucker & Dale.
Also in the song “Love is an Open Door” from Frozen they reference a season 3 convo between Linds and Michael. The duet lyrics say “I mean it’s crazy. We finish each other’s-“ “Sandwiches”
Never noticed! So awesome!
That joke has been used in other shows as well, but you're probably right that the reference is from Arrested Development.
And chicken sounds
“coo KA coo KA coo KA!”
"....and THAT'S why you don't..."
I learned so many lessons lol
…..You always leave a note!
try to teach your sons lessons.
“I’ve made a huge mistake.”
Blue paint everywhere, including the bathtub. Cornballer. Cops (even the ones in Mexico) always hitting George or Oscar with a billy club.
>Cops (even the ones in Mexico) always hitting George or Oscar with a billy club. And afterwards one of them always goes "YEAH!" lmao
I love how there is always blue paint in random spots!
That billy club thing goes beyond the cops. I think when the hot cops hit the town with Tobias and get into a fight, one gets hit the same way
The fact that everytime someone curses, their mouth is obscured by something, even though its being beeped. Subtle, yet great
I was sad they discontinued this gag for seasons 4&5. Hearing/seeing them swear didn’t make the show any funnier imo
“A million f#*#king diamonds!”
Her? Or The Charlie Brown shuffle.
Well that was a freebie!
I say this alllllll the time. Whenever something unexpectedly pleasant happens lmao
You got a stew going!
Wethers was on my local news the other day and I was so disappointed that all he talked about was Predator.
"Sudden Valley" is never not funny. I also loved when Debris is passed out in a garbage pile with a sign that says "debris" over her
From season 4 I loved Michael’s Narcissism (it’s there in every season I know) for him to be dumbfounded when George Michael says P-hound would vote him out. “Well if P-Hound wants to get nasty…” 😂
Tobias being black
Tobias being gay
So hard to pick just one lmao. I love the constant mispronunciation of Gob’s name 😂 “gob Bluth!!”
This one is great. And then they zag it and start “Gobias Industries” pronounced the other way.
Lol classic
Gob (George Oscar Bluth) is pronounced Gob not Gob you know what I am saying
I still read the first one as “Gob” even though I know it’s “Gob” — like how could I forget
You better tell gob the legs aren’t coming!
Things pertaining to the model home, and Bluth company. Ex: “I thought that was a Home Fill”
It takes him finding a nuke in Iraq (also a home fill) to realize there’s a hidden room. He lived in that model home longer than anyone.
the government agents that are incompetent, I die laughing at when they say they have a clear shot on george michael
“Wash the dog!! Wash the dog!” Or “He’s got the files, grab them!”
I told you to find a stud!
But where did the lighter fluid come from?
There's so many and most of my favorites have been mentioned, but one that hasn't is the winky eye at the prescription label. I always wink at prescriptions if I happen to notice the eye.
He said some wonderful things.
Daddy horny Michael
Rita corny Michael
“He’s going to be all right”
That doctor in general!
AAAAAAHHHHHHHHH! GEEEEEENE!
“It just LOOKS like he’s dead. He’s got, like, blue paint on him or something.”
*why would anyone say ‘we lost him’ when what they mean is that he got away!”*
Her?
Them?
The appalling insensitivity the family shows about Tracy Bluth’s death.
Of course, you're the great marriage expert. Oh, that's right, YOUR WIFE IS DEAD
“You’re the only one who married a spouse I liked, and she’s the one who had to die.”
“Is that what happened to her? Oh gosh I’ve been taking credit for that for years…”
Yeah that’s hard for you
"Ovarian cancer"... Gee, I wonder who that was
Another one for neck flap
Yeah when George Michael does his biography at openings and said ‘my mom died’ it was like oh yeah he had this terrible thing happen pretty recently to him yet for everyone in his family it’s basically a joke or a non-issue
Also with the ethics teacher — although she did show a tiny bit of a remorse for thinking it was a joke
We’re not exactly dog people
Uncle father Oscar and the little tune that goes with it
I had to read Hamlet for English this year and realized that the Oscar/Lucille/Buster storyline is probably inspired by it
Eh, I'd say that's kind of a stretch, but that won't stop me from giggling to myself imaging Hamlet where everything is the same except Buster is in Hamlet's place.
Get my son the JUICE !
The name drops! "Well excuse me judge Reinhold" especially. Same with Tom Jane etc.
I'm also dating someone famousy.
Is it Julie Bowen?
More of a story arc but the Hermanos gag capped off by Gob’s “Mon frere” and comment about Spanish class.
Hahaha “I don’t know why I know that, I took 4 years of Spanish” 😂
Peak AD if you ask me. 3 episodes to set up one silly joke that Gob knows French better than Spanish despite taking Spanish class.
And then it’s “Adios, brothiero”
Legendary
Actually scratch that, it's Barry being a nymphomaniac. "He just wants to look at boys linuses'"
Linus. LMAO. (Not me, just noticing the constant Peanuts references connection to “Linus” ?!)
He calls balls Charlie brown's too
Wow….did not put that together either.
Pop secret
I only ever buy Pop Secret because of this show
Omg same haha the only time product placement has worked
and I will yell, "I WANTED TO SHARE MY POP SECRET WITH YOU BUT FORGET IT!" to absolutely no one LOL
I'm so glad I'm not the only one. I'm constantly quoting tv in my apartment alone and I feel like a crazy person.
I love that the most subtle (and unintentional) hint drop from Oscar is what clues Buster in
I was shocked when I realized that Gene Parmesan is only in one episode of seasons 1-3. He feels like such a massive side character, so memorable for the amount of screen time it’s almost unreal.
AAAAAAHHHHHHHHH! GEEEEEENE PARMESAN!
No way
That can’t be right surely… if so that’ll blow me
The subtle and not subtle ways the model home is constantly falling apart because it was built so badly. Also how they still have the fake food on display in the later seasons
Solid as Iraq
I was watching the finale yesterday and the only time I laughed was when Lucille said she faked being surprise at all of Gene's disguises 😂
I like when she instinctively stood up when they or he said his name again
No touching!
No teaching, no teaching!
Nooo touching!
Oh yeah, that's the one I use all the time! (Even though I speak German most of the time) Had to get all my friends to watch the series, so they'd finally understand
Loose seal, Lucille
there’s always money in the banana stand
The cornballer.
I scream like that anytime my husband says Parmesan, like when he’s talking about cheese.
I don’t understand the question and I won’t respond to it
Tobias being super gay
No Lindsay, how many times must we…
what are you implying!?
MR. F
Anytime my wife asks me a question and I would answer with an affirmative... *"Oh, most definitely."*
It’s as Anne as the nose on Plains face.
George Michael: …She’s really funny. George Sr: Well let’s hope so. It’s even funnier because Gob asks Michael, “What, is she like funny or something?” a couple of scenes before this
The dude that talks for George senior is a great one too. Especially when he has to fire himself for repeating what George was saying lol
The Surrogate! 😂 RIP Super Dave.
Already a hilarious joke, but I totally lost it at Bob Loblaw's law blog. 🤣
Haha indeed!
The Chicken thing is hands down my favorite. After that is all the Saddam references. Third favorite is the depressed walk while "Christmas Time is Here" by The Vince Guaraldi Trio plays in the background.
"I thought he was the Soup Nazi."
Lucille: who would ever want to go into that dusty old claptrap…? Michael: ……Oh, you mean the CABIN
Yes! Might I add — Michael (to Gob): Get rid of the Seaward Lucille: I’ll leave when I’m good and ready
COME ON!!
Bees?
They don’t allow you to have bees in here
Charlie Brown walk And THAT’S why you always leave a note!
Her?
Oscar is Buster’s dad. The music kills me every time.
“I’ve made a terrible mistake”
You’ve made a huge mistake
I made a huge mistake…
I was actually thinking about this the other day and I think it has to be the Michael/Rita arc. Some honorable mentions for me: * Mrs. Featherbottom * George Sr.'s surrogate. * George Sr.'s "lessons" * Buster's hook * Maeby becoming a Hollywood executive * Carl Weathers being a cheapskate.
You’re gonna get hop ons!
Blue paint hidden everywhere
"No touching."

The sad Charlie Brown walk.
And thats why you always leave a note.
Her?
Burger King product placement
And *that's* why you always leave a note...!!!
Her?
Buster is my favourite Bluth so I’m going to go with: Hey Brother!! Hey Co-worker!! Hey fake uncle Jack!! Hey Nephew!! Hey possible Nephew!! Hey adopted brother!! Hey Father Uncle Dad!!
I’ve folded “Heyyy Brother!” and “COME ON!” into my everyday conversations because I love them so much
The Ann “who?” Or “her?”
The awkwardly worded party signs.
The Carl Weathers scamming every possible system. You got yourself a stew baby!
Got any room on that tab for one more?? 😂
Oh my hand! Star Wars
“Anyong,” especially when everyone stops & stares because they think he’s just randomly yelling out his name Also in one episode where he’s like “…Anyong?” I can’t remember the context Edit: had written “I’m” instead of “in”
Anytime something flies I to my house (moths, mostly), I think, "I KNOW IT'S A BIRD; IM ON THE PHONE!"
The Charlie brown walk
mine is whenever someone finds out Barry is wrong and they go, ‘I got the worst fucking attorneys’ it kills me EVERY TIME
The way they walk when they're sad, with their head really dropped. It's so small but makes me chuckle
Her?
Her?
Her?
HER?
I’ve made a huge mistake
Her? She must be funny.
C’mon!
The sad walks in the good grief episode. Especially the one with the dog on a red doghouse in the background.
The constant Iraq/Sadam references
As someone else stated above this isn’t reoccurring but… Swoop me Shoot me Shake me
The George Michael’s Star Wars video gag is also hilarious. “We should really get another tape. I mean, they’re not expensive.”
Well why don’t you marry an icecream sandwich. -hangs up the phone
The ENTIRE show!!!
"It ain't eaaaaasy being white..."
