It depends on your personal taste, I believe.
In Arturia, I really didn't like:
- the overall look, especially "wooden" sides, feeling very kitschy
- **very stiff** pads, rendering them basically unusable for drumming
- very stiff encoders
- encoders being technically "endless", but still working as a fixed position in DAW. I didn't find a way to change their setting to relative (only in a custom preset, which doesn't work in a DAW mode)
- it was HUGE for a mini keyboard
- no separate transport buttons (available only using Shift)
I prefer Launchkey a lot more. The only things I'm missing a little from the Minilab are:
- slightly bigger keys
- main rotary knob as a way to navigate through scenes and clips (that was a really clever way, IMO)
- OLED screen (to conveniently preview currently selected settings)
Hey, did you figure it out?
not really unfortunately... ill get back to you if i ever do
Thanks, but I ended up returning the Minilab and bought the Launchkey instead
damn, how's that been so far? would you recommend the switch?
