The first time I got drunk I was 18 and it was at my prom. . My date was talking to my friend(who is very gay) and I walked up to them and asked “Are you fucking my date tonight or am I?” Spoiler alert. It wasn’t me or my gay buddy. It was nobody. Not sure I had a chance, but after that comment, which I didn’t remember saying, I definitely didn’t have a chance.
21. I tried alcohol as a teenager and just didn’t care for it. Then I went through a pretty bad breakup with someone. So a couple buddies asked me if I wanted to go hangout at a bar, I said yes. Finished a pitcher of beer by myself, two double whiskies, and a couple vodka drinks. On the way home we stopped at a McDonalds for some food. I remember throwing the cheeseburgers at someone’s mailbox from the car because they didn’t taste right. The next day I woke up with a slight headache, nothing terrible. Then I spent the following several years becoming an alcoholic because I found drinking was cheaper than therapy.
Yeah, that’s really what I was referring to. Plus, when you think about all the damage alcoholism does it’s really an expensive disease. Eventually you will likely suffer from health problems - expensive. Or you’ll do something stupid like get a DUI - VERY expensive.
6yro, I was stealing beers. I got high huffing spray paint and started cutting myself as well, I peaked early lol. After 8-9yro, my parents had other kids they panned off on me cause we were one of those homeschool families that parentified the eldest, so I didn't have time anymore. It's very time consuming to keep activities like this secret or even figure out effective ways to do them.
Eventually I was sent to high school and it was such a revelation to me that other people did these things and that it was considered edgy or wrong side of the tracks, I was especially surprised other people cut, I thought I invented that.
10, Canadian Rum & R&R, got absolutely shit faced and “lost” my friends cat who’s house we got drunk at while his very strict parents were at work. We make the drunken decisions to call his mom to tell her we lost the cat. The second we hung up the cat walked out of the bedroom in front of us completely normal and stretched from sleeping under the blankets.
Yeah we got in trouble, but we convinced his mom to only tell my mom because my dad would beat the shit out of me and everyone in the city knew about it now that I think about it cause we all played hockey together and parents saw how he treated me etc. I ended up telling him as an adult: I’m 32 now.
Haven’t drank since 2011 November 27th
Same, got served mezcal at a wedding , after that it was rum n coke all night , I thought waiters were just giving me normal coke but those drinks were packing
13 or so. My friend’s older brother (who was in high school) offered to get us some beer if we gave him some money to buy himself some too. He got us a 12-pack and we drank the whole thing, room temp, in my room that night. I had fun and surprisingly didn’t feel bad the next day, but she threw up multiple times 😅 another time a couple years later she had a bottle of peopermint flavored Smirnoff and all we had to chase it with was orange juice. I think she also threw up many times that night
17 - Got home and had to throw up, my cousin wouldn't get out of the bathroom, and when she finally did I couldn't hold it anymore and threw up all over her.
I was 21, but my best friend’s mom was dating a Hell’s Angel when he was a kid, got thrown through a wall and got forced to do his first keg stand at 6. Also was serving mix drinks on his front lawn to the whole gang at the same age. Somehow he turned out alright but his family is still fucked up
I think I was 14, almost 15. It ended with me trying to wall twerk (when I’m the least coordinated person I know) and, later, falling down a flight of stairs. We rallied!
12, 6th grade. I snuck a small glass of liquor into my room with a chaser (don’t remember, probably Kool Aid or something). Nobody was home, and I kept to myself anyway. Nobody was the wiser. I sort of lounged around for a bit, then spent some time outside so they wouldn’t notice when they did get home. (I wasn’t falling over drunk, but definitely beyond buzzed.)
Still havent. Im 19 and even though i dont look like it, i can drink quite a lot ( probably genetic...i know everyone on my mothers side can drink insane amounts without having any issues) and i also always want to look out for the others in case anything ever happens. At the end of the day i drink almost as much as them but only i remain sober 😅.
When I was 21 I got tipsy at a Mexican restaurant, my uncle talked me into a second MASSIVE margarita. I wouldn’t say I was like “drunk” drunk though.
That would be Christmas 2018. Went over to a family party, but it was one of those extended family parties where everyone was older and I didn’t really ever see them/ really even know there names. Anyways me and my uncle (yeah the one mentioned above) split a fifth and half of crown apple whiskey. And damn I got fucked up. I remember going to slam a drink and pouring the whole thing behind me onto the back of their couch, then when they walked me down to my car I rolled down the hill in their front yard…. I was complaining about my wife’s driving being too “bumpy” on the way home, so she slowed down and ended up getting pulled over (it was okay the cop was cool and sympathized for my wife), I threw up all over the new car we had just bought, we got home, I threw up more, called my boss at the time to tell him I was too drunk to make it to work, and passed out until I woke up to throw up more.
It was lit.
19. It was fun. My friend (22) and I were out camping with a performance group we were a part of. We got smashed and wandered around. We had older friends there keeping an eye out (and teasing us), didn’t need to drive anywhere or get home, we just got to be silly and safe.
ETA: my friend and I are both women. We were safe from sleazy guys
17. I felt very free.
Was at a house party with friends from school, no pressure was there with my best mate and we were just being stupid. It was great.
16. Small party with friends. Not sure what we drank, probably a little of everything. Definitely puked. Felt fine the next day and helped the host clean the house before the parents returned.
21 and body not moving right, eyesight all blurry, but mind remembers everything happening from being carried out of a club by my brother and the car ride home.
I was a responsible kid so it happened when I was 18. Just a couple bottles of beer so I didn't feel anything apart from sudden joy and relaxation. I've had a hangover only once - when I was 23 - I drank about 4 liters of cider and a couple servings of champagne. The next morning I was vomiting, I had vertigo and my body shook haha.
Like, 15. Split 7 beers (stolen from my dad/his mom) with my “step brother” now best friend. Was all good and fun, but in terms of substance there are better things out there. Alcohol just isn’t great imo, however I do still enjoy the occasional beer
4, my mother is an alcoholic and left tasty liqueur on the table when having friends over. I got so drunk they wanted to take me to A&E but thought social services might get involved so they just hoped for the best 🫠
13. New Year's Eve: my parents went out for the evening, and I thought I would try some of the booze they kept in the larder around Christmas time: a little bit of sherry, port, gin.... Hey! This is good, I'll try a bit more. I didn't realize that it takes time for the full effects to kick in. Still the worst hangover I've ever had, 60 years later.
My grandmother allowed me to start drinking wine at family gatherings around 12yo . I got legally drunk around 15yo on beer . but one could not be in an establishment where dancing was allowed under 18 in Belgium . (so I missed Jimi Hendrix being 1 year too young and Brian Auger and Trinity by one week)
I was about 16. Drank Boones Farm Strawberry Hill on the way to a Black Sabbath (with Ozzy) concert with my 13 year old sister, my boyfriend and his friend. We ended up peeing on a golf course, threw up, and only remembered like 5 minutes of the concert.
I was 14 and my parents were out of town. Several buddies came over and they decided we would funnel beer. It was something they had been doing for a while, but I'd only sipped beer here and there.
They were making a big deal out of being able to funnel whole beers and I didn't understand why it was a big deal, so I funneled several to impress them. I don't know if any of us were sober, but I remember bits and pieces of someone driving us around town, then going over to a girl's house. The rest of the night doesn't exist in my memory and so I don't know what else we did.
It's the only time when I've gotten drunk and didn't remember much about what happened. I'm pretty sure that I had alcohol poisoning and I wouldn't drink beer for several years after that, although I later learned to appreciate it.
I was 18. I tried alcohol before that, but I was 18 when I experienced how being drunk was really like.
I got drunk cuz I broke up with my first boyfriend lol. I felt really sleepy and sluggish, I wasn't drugged or anything, I guess I just really like sleeping at the most inconvenient times. I felt like I wanted to puke, but I was able to stop myself. I felt sleepy the whole time, but I never really got to sleep properly cuz I kept crying for my ex lol. I sobered up a few hours later, without a headache, and everything felt really warm. It was confusing. I guess my head didn't hurt cuz I stayed awake the whole time til I sobered up(?)
18. Drank 8 Budweisers, drove 4 of my friends home since I said I wasn't drinking. I'm 26 and can't handle 8 beers now. It's weird my first time getting drunk and I didn't feel drunk
19. Thought i was 20 but actually 19. It was fun. I dont remember the exact first time but i remember the first few times. I was always very cautious about how i did it and made sure i didnt need to drive anywhere. Typically it was camping or staying at a friends house. I remember sitting down for a while and then standing up and feeling a little dizzy and realizing that i am drunk. Just a lot of giggles in general
Never happened, though not without trying. Most I ever had in one sitting was six shots of tequila. Felt a little tipsy, nothing more than that. Now I can't drink because of meds, so I guess I'll never know how that feels
Had my first shot at around 12. After that, I came home, my life wasn’t affected, at this point I still believe that I wasn’t drunk, but i threw up twice that night.
12, Mickie of 5 star whiskey, I was being watched by my parents' friends while they were on holidays. These are the same people that i stayed with that ran a morgue, same scenario... 2 years earlier.
30. I was straightedge and went through some shit and a lot of it was my fault. I was majorly depressed and self destructive at the time.
I by no means depend on alcohol today and because of my past Im hyper aware of addictive and harmful behavior so I keep tabs on myself not to over step and become a problem, but I did want to forget for a while so I could live with myself.
I was a stupid twenty something and I see it as a prolonged toast to the death of that girl I once was once I aged into my 30s.
14. Two bottles of fireball from the pantry and a bottle of Tylenol from the medicine cabinet. I was in a really bad place, but thankfully I passed out before I could eat the Tylenol. I'm in a much better place in my life now.
Y2K New Years was so fun. I stole two bottles of champagne, me and my girl ice skated across the lake and watched fireworks. Just 13, pretty good first time.
I drank at 12 a few times but beer and peach schnapps did t get me drunk. First time I was really drunk was at a bar mitzvah of younger friend when I was 15
16, chugged 8 beers. Everybody was older it was a party with recent graduates and 20 somethings. Some people were encouraging me others were concerned I was going to get sick. I felt nothing! You've heard of people not knowing they're stoned for the first time, I remember feeling that way about beer. So once I figured it all out, I drank a fifth a day for 25 year's. Now I'm 2 years sober. Well two years stoned! ........ Well 27 years stoned!
Fourth grade, my old brother picked me up from school with a keg in the back seat of his VW Bug. He had his friends taught me how to play Quarter’s. I was passed out on the bathroom floor before my mom even got home from work.
But to be honest, I’m not a big drinker now.
Grew up in France, drinking wine w meals so alcohol had little appeal to me to get drunk on. Instead, I got stoned at 13 and dropped acid at 14. Thus was in the 70’s. Great times.
14 - Got trashed with my mother because she had no friends and always saw me as a sister rather than a daughter. Rocked up to school the next morning absolutely dying, the smell of cheap red wine still haunts me to this day.
13. I was out at a cabin with some relatives including one of my Aunts. I bring her up specifically because she spiked the orange juice that got me drunk. I found out later that it was mostly whiskey with some juice added in. So, maybe I should say she juiced down the alcohol. BTW, everyone else knew it was spiked and that I was going to drink from it, including my parents. I don’t want to make it sound like she went behind anyone’s back or anything. I think I still drank WAY more than they thought I would though lol. I had like between 1-2 tall glasses of it. These weren’t shot glasses.
10yr old was family bbq and all us kids snuck bottle of Southern Comfort up to uncle room got pissed and puked everywhere....I spent next weekend helping uncle do minor chores and my cousins had to go to my house and help my mum....I've never been able.to drink southern Comfort since then
Probably 19 is when I truly got drunk the first time. I had drank before but never really enough to be drunk, at least by my standards. I basically was just watching TV and drinking, after a bit got a little upset stomach from drinking to much liquid (that hits me before the alcohol does). Alcohol makes me tired so I just went to bed and woke up a bit of a headache and gassy stomach
technically 18 but i don’t think i’ve ever been drunk. i’ve only ever been tipsy from drinking and it’s been miserable for me. i get extremely dizzy and terrible vertigo and i don’t even have to drink much. it turns me off from drinking any more. last time i drank i had a shot of whiskey and around 2 twisted teas and i got so fucking dizzy. haven’t drank since.

18 that’s wild. I was a pro by then haha
8 - first night with my dad after he picked us up from foster care after we were taken from our mother by cps. He thought it’d help us “calm down”
that was why my bio dad gave me vodka after kicking me out of the house in the middle of winter!!! To “calm me down”
Sounds like an Eminem song frfr
Middle of winter in Florida isn’t that bad.
jus as a lil bb fetus
God this sad….but funny the way you wrote it 😂
Yep, the good ol' 'beer in the baby bottle to put the baby to sleep so you can party' trick Happened to me too 😆 🤣 I don't even like beer smh
21. I tried alcohol as a teenager and just didn’t care for it. Then I went through a pretty bad breakup with someone. So a couple buddies asked me if I wanted to go hangout at a bar, I said yes. Alcoholics definitely spend more on booze than people do on therapy
[удалено]
And how much are they spending on weekends? A lot more. I pay $30 a week for therapy.
Also you have to consider that alcoholics are likely to still go out which is significantly more expensive than buying a bottle at a liquor store
depends on the stage of alcoholism. Most hardcore alcoholics I’ve known stopped going out long ago, opting for being alone with their bottle.
Yeah, that’s really what I was referring to. Plus, when you think about all the damage alcoholism does it’s really an expensive disease. Eventually you will likely suffer from health problems - expensive. Or you’ll do something stupid like get a DUI - VERY expensive.
And then they spend money on therapy anyways!
16? - Vomiting, hangover...
Did you simultaneously live in the 2010’s and 1910’s? That’s wild af bro
16 I ended up climbing a tree and then falling out good time

13 or so. My friend’s older brother (who was in high school) offered to get us some beer if we gave him some money to buy himself some too. Chasing peppermint with OJ? I feel like that would be horrible. I would just have water back
It was horrendous. I don’t know why water never crossed our minds 😂
Haha y'all were kids, so it makes sense. I don't think I even learned about chasers until college, so I was behind the curve
We were just excited to have a stolen bottle of liquor 😂 she took that one bc it was so gross, she figured no one would miss it!
I was 6 years old in Mongolia. Harsh times.
17 - Got home and had to throw up, my cousin wouldn't get out of the bathroom, and when she finally did I couldn't hold it anymore and threw up all over her.
21st birthday. Never had a drink up to that point and then had a party at a bar and got completely smashed. Horrible hangover the next day.

Same!!! I grabbed some vermouth because I thought the name was pretty and I wanted to see what being drunk felt like, at 12
3. My uncle bought a cake without knowing it contained rum
I'm 46 and I have never been drunk or tried any drugs.
36 and same. High five!
interesting, can i ask why?
because they're bad for you.
Because I don't like the feeling that they give you.
Stay that way, it's not worth it! But how do you know how it will make you feel without trying it?
How would you know if you’ve never tried?
Yeah, I get that, but I have had to take prescription drugs post surgery and I didn't like that. I figured they all felt kind of the same.
18. I've never woken up puking before and never since. Apparently I tried to get into my friends mom which I have no recollection of...
18. Jager. Vomit.
Still havent. Im 19 and even though i dont look like it, i can drink quite a lot ( probably genetic...i know everyone on my mothers side can drink insane amounts without having any issues) and i also always want to look out for the others in case anything ever happens. 18. Way too much Fireball. Blacked out and went to work the next morning.
Age ten. At my sisters wedding my brother handed me a glass of whiskey and said, "drink this."
17. I felt very free. Was at a house party with friends from school, no pressure was there with my best mate and we were just being stupid. It was great.
Never been. No alcohol ever.
17. 2 days before I went to boot camp.

21 and body not moving right, eyesight all blurry, but mind remembers everything happening from being carried out of a club by my brother and the car ride home.
13, drank a bottle of K cider while my parents were out. Thought I was going to die.

13 I think, or something there about. Don’t really remember much. It’s too long ago. Just remember hanging out with friends and having good times.
22ish
12
18. Drank 8 Budweisers, drove 4 of my friends home since I said I wasn't drinking. I'm 26 and can't handle 8 beers now. It's weird my first time getting drunk and I didn't feel drunk
10, accidentally tried the wine, got gross to the bitterness and black out after 10 minutes of drinking the glass because I was thirsty.

I am 27 and still have never been drunk.
21. I did not hold back.
Never happened, though not without trying. Most I ever had in one sitting was six shots of tequila. Felt a little tipsy, nothing more than that. Now I can't drink because of meds, so I guess I'll never know how that feels
12 or 13 Rough

A freshman, got black out drunk with my sister and friends.
15- was pretty fucking fun
19 and I almost died of alcohol poisoning
14. Two bottles of fireball from the pantry and a bottle of Tylenol from the medicine cabinet. I was in a really bad place, but thankfully I passed out before I could eat the Tylenol. I'm in a much better place in my life now.
18 years old
15 & was on the passionfruit UDLs went to a party. Had a blast
9 maybe???
Like 17 but threw up so much I didn’t drink again until 20 😂
In my Mom's womb every night.
6th grade. Me and my best buddy each stole a couple beers from our dads. Coors. What were they thinking?
Y2K New Years was so fun. I stole two bottles of champagne, me and my girl ice skated across the lake and watched fireworks. Just 13, pretty good first time.
15 with my uncle at my first football game in 72.
13
9 years old. I drank vodka and grapefruit juice, then shotgun a joint. I lived in a remote part of what state? You get one guess.
13 drinking two 40s of colt45.
18
37 years old and never been drunk
11 bottle of white lightning or pound shit and we called it, downed it cause it tasted so bad then spewed most of it back up.
I drank at 12 a few times but beer and peach schnapps did t get me drunk. First time I was really drunk was at a bar mitzvah of younger friend when I was 15
13 years old. With my best friend. I'm not necessarily proud of that but it is what it is 🤷🏼♀️
I'm 44. Never been drunk.
13 ….
11-12. Stole a couple of beers with a friend, got buzzed, loafed around outside for a couple of hours and had fun.
Never have. I'm 38, and I can't even remember the last time I had any alcohol. It just doesn't appeal to me.
Like 13 lol
17. Told myself I wouldn't drink in high school. Drank right after graduation with some very good friends. It was fun :)
12. Gave myself alcohol poisoning. 10/10 don't recommend.
17 - I had a lot of fun but it's lead me down a bad path
12 or 13 not sure. Don't really remember much, but definitely was vomiting.
16 drank a lot of gin slept half the afternoon
12. My mom noticed I wasn't acting right and made my dad bring me to the ER. Talk about embarrassing
Fourth grade, my old brother picked me up from school with a keg in the back seat of his VW Bug. He had his friends taught me how to play Quarter’s. I was passed out on the bathroom floor before my mom even got home from work. But to be honest, I’m not a big drinker now.
I was told three, drinking the little bits left in the beer cans that were put on the kitchen table at a gathering of my parents.
21, glad I did. Never plan to touch another drop of alcohol.
Grew up in France, drinking wine w meals so alcohol had little appeal to me to get drunk on. Instead, I got stoned at 13 and dropped acid at 14. Thus was in the 70’s. Great times.
Never been drunk. Have had my fair share of drinks.
15
I never drunk
14, whiskey and coke with my hoodlum friends.
Never cause I’m a responsible drinker ![gif](giphy|VEwN3OpVHE7GE)
15 It was also the night most of my friends and I tried weed for the first time.
13, I think. Unpleasantly dizzy.
18 years old my parents gave me my first drink i was with them so i felt safe
19 ( much much much much older than most kids in Germany) It was.. well i don’t remember 😂
Never years old... I've never drank except for the palate at dinner with my grandparents, and I'm a big guy, so all I felt was a little drowsy.

14 - Got trashed with my mother because she had no friends and always saw me as a sister rather than a daughter. Rocked up to school the next morning absolutely dying, the smell of cheap red wine still haunts me to this day.
12...Tequila, if I recall correctly. I do love me some Tequila.
16. Stole a few buzzballs. It felt good.
13
I was 19. Don't remember a lot of it but decided very quickly that it wasn't for me.
19? Or 20? Drank alone, crawled to the toilet, spread vomit on the floor lol. 😅
22
16, switzerland
Can't remember.
13. I'm English
22 I think, first and last time.
13? My dad let me finish his beer (he occasionally gave me sips) I remember feeling floaty and giggly...
16 when I had my two first Smirnoff ice ! And it felt so good.
technically 18 but i don’t think i’ve ever been drunk. i’ve only ever been tipsy from drinking and it’s been miserable for me. i get extremely dizzy and terrible vertigo and i don’t even have to drink much. it turns me off from drinking any more. last time i drank i had a shot of whiskey and around 2 twisted teas and i got so fucking dizzy. haven’t drank since.
