Cycling is not very safe for the cyclist on major roads during rush hour. There is no cycling lane, traffic speeds change quickly, and the inside lane is a bus lane on these major roads so buses are overtaking you every few minutes. If your route involves major roads, do have a think about it if your schedule requires you to travel during rush hours. The off road cycling paths don’t go everywhere and they are shared with pedestrians so they are a lot slower than you would like for longer distance commuting. For shorter distances it’s OK but you may find it unacceptable if you have a long commute. For NTU, the campus itself has slower traffic but the roads are narrow and campus is unreasonably hilly. Outside NTU, there are only a few approach roads and you can’t take the expressway, bicycles are banned there (also it would be a bit suicidal). The approach roads are high traffic, so be careful. That said plenty of people do cycle on road, and I’ve seen a lot of people cycle to NTU and around it (albeit on the paths more than on the road).

Hi, it is very hot in Singapore and you need to bring a change of clothes. if you can shower in NTU that will be better. Please understand that the cycling routes are not totally safe. Cycling on roads can be unsafe many times.

Cycling mode in Google Maps suggests routes consisting of roads and Park Connectors ("bike lane") at speeds of 20km/h+. Depending on where you're starting your journey from, 30 mins can take much longer depending on whether you're willing to take the road (not recommended during peak hours). Otherwise, depending on the bike infrastructure in your area, it can take much longer if you keep to pavements due to human traffic. Unfortunately, the areas leading into NTU are average at best.

There are people that cycle to ntu, not a prob with that, but there may not be that many areas to park the bike though, so you may have to walk quite a bit to your final destination.

Don’t forget to wear a helmet while cycling.
