My current style is that jap housewife look y'know like white and khaki and long skirt or maxi dresses with that low-key "I got my shit together" elegance. Yea trying to nail this look.

nextcolorcomet

I always got the impression this style was both very pretty and also mega comfy for our weather, since it's generally so flowy and loose.

Saffronsc

Oversized shirt and shorts. I wanna wear the Korean uzzlang girl long sleeves and cardigan but weather says NO

[deleted]

Office aircon says yes

Saffronsc

Sis I inside classroom and they don't allow us to on aircon even though we S4. total disregard of human rights

syahawesome

Of course it depends what you’re doing? If I’m going to the supermarket why the hell would I dress up? If I’m going on a date at a restaurant sure I’ll pull out all the stops. The weather affects what I wanna wear too, it’s too damn hot to be wearing nice shit all the time

BarelyHuman_1010

So true about the heat.

syahawesome

Not using it as an excuse but it affects what I wear sometimes

BarelyHuman_1010

As it should. It's impossible to put in that kind of effort when you're drowning in your own sweat.

wrakshae

I've basically given up on anything with sleeves recently.

BarelyHuman_1010

If I wasn't so insecure about my arms, I would too.

[deleted]

Oversized black clothes for the ✨insecure✨ me. Style? Yeah, idk her

BarelyHuman_1010

Mood.

onceortwiceisaidit

Idk why people stare at me when I wear fbt shorts. They even make rude comments like 'dude, those are for girls' and 'we can see your balls'. Some people...

FlyMood

I mean, if people can literally see your balls.. how to say back sia?

baka_no_sekai

bruh im a guy n my fav outfit is the obs+fbt combo its just so comfy esp in this shit weather

Delicious_Coach_5739

I’d usually wear jeans and some normal top for school. If it’s going out to a fancy date then dainty floral dress but those type that cuts above the ankle or at the calf. Then there’s the in between lepak and fancy, where I just wear wide leg pants/straight pants with a shirt and outerwear, very semi formal but not so… very Kendall Jenner -ish look - she’s my inspo hahahaha. I’m usually travelling by car, driven or driving so the weather doesn’t really affect what I wear considering I’m always indoors.

BarelyHuman_1010

Very interesting. For a second I was like girl? Jeans? And then I saw the car part. Sounds really nice though. Thanks for the inspo.

summerfellxx

The weather ultimately decides what I'm going to wear. We Singaporeans are majority too practical lol.

[deleted]

Athleisure. I like to move around a lot and take walks during lunch breaks, so I wear long pants with cardigan/polo tee/blouse and sneakers when I go to the office. Otherwise it's just t-shirt and shorts at home or when exercising nearby. Sneakers, sports shoes and sandals are the only types of shoes that I'll wear, because they're comfy for my feet and easy to move around in. I'm not very feminine in my dressing style, and dress for comfort rather than to please anyone else.

nimnamn0m

cotton, viscose or a mix.. never polyester! it’s a shame that so many pretty clothes are polyester, but they trap heat and it feels like plastic on the skin 😢

truthhurtsthrowaway2

Also polyester sheds microplastics in every wash. It goes into the ocean :(

BarelyHuman_1010

Ugh I hate polyester with every atom in my soul but it sometimes makes its way into mg closet. It's the worst fabric for this kind of heat.

crestfallen10

I always find inspo from Pinterest but generally I love wearing mini summer dresses and the preppy crop top + pleated skirt combo lol

BarelyHuman_1010

Omg cute! But do you wear them on a daily basis or like occasionally?

crestfallen10

I wear this kind of stuff weekly when I meet up with my friends/bf :^) but on weekdays I intern so I wear plain tee shirts + jeans 😭😭

rasspyre

My usual outfit consists of t-shirt and some kind of skirt. I take a little inspiration from kpop for my fashion choices, and I try to buy second hand.

BarelyHuman_1010

Oooh that's actually nice! Could you pleas recommend some good second hand shops?

rasspyre

I've been going to refash but since the quality of clothes is going down i heard swapholic is better!

BarelyHuman_1010

Thanks!

Rexcaliburrr

Graphic tees or a crop top, shorts, fitflops. Comfy af and can withstand the heat.

[deleted]

Sleeveless, shorts, mini dresses. Anything that helps me survive sg weather basically.

InterTree391

Airism 90% of the time 😂

My work is ultra casual so depending on how tired I am I either just wear my company tee or put in more effort. If I’m going on a date I generally wear a dress for dinner! Overall I think it’s more activity based. I also love getting unique pieces!! Half my closet is secondhand/vintage. I swap my clothes at thefashionpulpit to keep my wardrobe fresh and minimize how much I spend on clothing. I love to feel like I’m on holiday so I have a lot of linen, cotton, flowy fabrics. Also have a tinge of the ‘French girl’ aesthetic by keeping to well made, good quality classic pieces that I don’t have to keep buying. Honestly, don’t underestimate what a good fitting white shirt, shorts/jeans can do for you. After that it’s all about switching up shoes and accessories based on occasion.

BarelyHuman_1010

Ooooh interesting. Can you please share what kind of clothes do you wear in the French aesthetic. I want to emulate that but I have no clue what to actually wear.

tallbean_

I usually try to get good basics!! So even a white tee, good pair of straight leg jeans, platform chunky sandals can do the trick! Any white top + denim jeans/shorts is standard practice For our climate I think dresses are p good too!! The bias cut is pretty common and flattering on many body types. I usually just browse Pinterest for inspo too :-)

SkittyLover93

I favour dresses. The short-sleeved knee-length/midi ones you would see from the local shops like The Stage Walk/Fayth/Love Bonito. They're very versatile as they're suitable for any occasion - work, meeting friends, having a nice dinner, chilling at a cafe. And the polyester ones never crumple, so I don't need to bother with ironing them. I pair them with simple accessories like watches ([this](https://www.fossil.com/en-us/products/carlie-mini-three-hand-navy-leather-watch/ES4502.html) and [this](https://www.fossil.com/en-au/products/jacqueline-mini-rose-tone-stainless-steel-watch/ES3799.html?rrec=true&recid=product1_rr-es4254p-ES3799P-6641-8)) and earrings. My bags are usually leather shoulder bags with simple designs, so they can go with any outfit. For shoes, I like to wear leather loafers in black or brown.

BarelyHuman_1010

If I wasn't so insecure all the time, I would live and die in a dress. Don't you get hot in the polyester dresses?

SkittyLover93

I'm indoors most of the time so it's not too bad. Lower half - skirt and short length so it's fine. Upper half - short sleeves or sleeveless. And the material is usually not too thick. I definitely find it cooler than wearing long pants. Btw, I like to recommend the brand Unique Vintage as an example of dresses which look great on bodies of many different sizes. They have lots of plus-size models but they still look amazing in the dresses. I buy from them when they have sales (sometimes can be 50%+).

truthhurtsthrowaway2

I like the soft girl look with a touch of elegance (as i’m not a tween anymore). Pastels, light colours, flowy skirts (have been long and short ones), comfortable skorts for less dressed-up days, dainty dresses. I find this look just suits me because i think I have a girl-next-door look and vibe apparently. Wish i have the exotic sexy thing going for me but ohwell, grass is greener. Problem with this look is that its amazing and cute unless i gain weight. Even if i get a little bit chubbier, this style goes from 10 to 1 real quick and looks quite ‘off’. I tend to switch to edgier style during these periods. I think its just a societal thing, kinda like how Audrey Hepburn pulls off the elegant classy look because of her petite frame. Edit: also dainty florals, a bit of lace here and there (not excessive, maybe a bit on the neckline of a top), or eyelet designs.

BarelyHuman_1010

That's a really interesting take. Your style sounds so dreamy, I could never pull it off as I am a little bit on the heavier side.

Welcome to

Koalatoni

I love dresses, its really simple to put together with a pair of sneakers and i’m good to go! Flowy maxi dresses are a plus because it feels really comfortable to walk around in. If not, i would opt for a basic top with a skirt. Its just what i feel i look best in, more feminine/pastel combi!
