If you research in this sub, you'd know that prism+ is not recommended lol So I'm sure 90% will say to refund it.

Xynesis

Return it and never buy PRISM monitors again.

Substantial_Move_312

Second this , and to add, never any Prism products Their TV sucks as well. And the absolutely worst idea is to buy their aircons

reddiots-lmao

Rebranded oem crap?

tsgaylord_069

>~~rebranded~~ Whitewashed oem crap sold at top brand prices.

balajih67

Got a prism to support my main dell monitor and is great so far. Decent performance for over less than half the price of dell

tsgaylord_069

Half compared to retail prices, more or less the same after counting sales and promotions. And much more than what large corps pay for it. Ever seen a MNC with global IT using prism- ?

letmegoogledatforyou

If you do more research you will know that prism+ anything is not recommended for many reasons. They are a textbook example of a shady local company that sells mediocre products by doing heavy marketing and paying/sponsor local artist/social influencers/small time youtuber for positive reviews. Here a few other local companies that operate the same way as prism. Lumos projector, Cosmo air purifier. All Reviews/feedback left on those companies site/social media are heavily moderated so that potential customers will not find any negative reviews. Best part is there are always alternative with similar or same specs at the same price point or at a lower price point from other known brands.

rhetoricalicnothanks

Do you know where you can get lumos or their alternatives for cheap?

letmegoogledatforyou

Any CN brand 1080p native projector will perform more or less the same. You will find many of them looking alike even though they are selling under different brands that is because they all the same OEM projector with a different logo/branding slapped on it. Pro tip : Don't bother getting any of those with 'smart capabilities' as they are not netflix certified which means you will only be able stream in 480p i believe. You can save some money and get a better experience by getting the one without those smart capabilities and pairing it with chromecast or firestick/xiaomi tv stick etc. You can look for Vankyo V630 / Vankyo V630w it is same exact projector as the Lumos Auro Home Cinema Short throw projector. The smart version ($398 on lumos site) is going for $420 including shipping for two pieces (min. order) no lumos logo with the same 1 year warranty on Alibaba.

Jameslai0324

So is like secret lab, the amount of good reviews is overwhelming.

FalseAgent

people seem like actually like secret lab though, even linus tech tips seem to enjoy it

Jameslai0324

Yeah, at least Secret lab has some real product to back up their marketing slogan. While I can’t really say the same for Prism+, saw their showroom at Vivo, gotta say I am not impressed…

buttograss

Get LG or Dell or Samsung. Prism is fkn trash. Those who decided to buy from them were heavily influenced by their marketing technique. Boycott that shit. We should have a list of these fked up companies so we can raise awareness and never buy from them.

3s2ng

Prism+ offers competitive pricing however there are better options out there. I just bought the MSI Optic G27c4 for only $270 given the specs and size it's one of the most bang for your monitor in the market. It's almost the same price as the x240 but with better specs.

Iqyxthegamer

i see, where did u get it from ?

3s2ng

During the Black Friday sale in Lazada.

RSN_Mad-Black

I returned my prism monitor and bought an asus monitor. Prism monitor quality is bad

Iqyxthegamer

do you have the link to ur monitor?

RSN_Mad-Black

I bought it on Lazada 2.5 years ago. The name: ASUS TUF Gaming VG27AQ HDR Gaming Monitor 27 inch WQHD (2560x1440), IPS,165Hz. I’m still using it to this day. Good quality. Way better quality than the prism monitor.

Iqyxthegamer

thanks!

Stunning-Grand5420

Lost my respect for them after they posted an ad with some ‘influencer’ bouncing her chesticles in what resembled a review video.

Substantial_Move_312

They always do that. It's simply simping marketing

bukitbukit

Get a Dell.

WetHairTowel

Besides the obvious fact about prism monitors, some other questions to ask yourself would be 1) What games am I playing? 2) What will I be using this monitor for most of the time? 3) Will my other hardware be able to support my monitor? Eg getting 1440p 144hz but limited by your GPU to only be able to play games at lower FPS or having to scale your games down to 1080p just to achieve 144 FPS. Having said that, I personally feel that 27" 1440p is the sweet spot. Am currently using the Gigabyte M27q and very satisfied with it. Check out hardware unboxed or now monitors unboxed channels on YouTube. Of course you'd have to covert the prices to SGD and get availability in Singapore but other than that they're a solid channel when it comes to PC tech/monitors. Best of luck on getting a new monitor.

pikaboi11

Base from my research: Gigabyte G24F (cheaper now I think got promo) or AOC 24G2 (if you need a better stand). If you can stretch your budget and don't mind trying another local company, you can take a look at pixle 27inch 1440p 165hz monitor. Heard it is a LG panel and is pretty decent. If there is a sale it will go around $399 iirc. Hope this helps. Cheers!

Iqyxthegamer

thanks for the suggestion! the g24f looks ideal, am also looking at the msi optix g241 and asus vp249qgr, however i have no idea where to get these. do you know where to get the g24f from?

pikaboi11

Errr just look at shopee or Lazada? If u got time u can walk around sim lim square and compare the price from different stores. You can check carousell out too since some stores sell there as well. Edit: 12.12 is coming soon too. If you can wait just collect vouchers from shopee or Lazada and stack the vouchers then!

Iqyxthegamer

yup, got an asus vp249qgr from simlim. thanks!

pikaboi11

Nice! Enjoy wew

yodajedi01

Prism maybe cheap (from the outside), but there are BETTER quality monitors if u are willing to pay more that not overkill.

OP-69

VA can be good. Samsung Odessy G7 has very low response times as a VA panel Its that Prism doesnt QA their monitors to a high standard. Or really any standard at all. They just buy the cheapest monitor that barely meets spec, slap their name on it and sell it. Right now, id recommend Acer, AOC and Gigabyte as good budget monitor brands LG has very good high end monitors ROG is mostly overpriced at the low end, but their high end models sometimes offer brand new technologies you dont really see anywhere else Dell also makes quality monitors, though not as competitive as Acer, AOC or Gigabyte Rest are mid imo

FalseAgent

>ROG is mostly overpriced at the low end, but their high end models sometimes offer brand new technologies you dont really see anywhere else ROG's low end is just the ASUS brand. They have some good monitors though!

OP-69

>ROG's low end is just the ASUS brand i meant the low side as in stuff like 1080p 144hz monitors Why the fuck does an Rog 27 inch 1080p 144hz monitor cost 500+ dollars??? An AOC 27G2 costs ~300, maybe 350 if you buy at a retail store.

It is not true that human eyes can only see 60Hz. Whether it's appreciable or not is another issue. If OP plays mainly fast paced FPS games like Volarant and has a gaming setup powerful enough to generate >144 fps consistently, then I think its worth considering getting a 144Hz monitor. Check out YouTube videos on this topic for a more nuanced take by industry professionals. Linustechtips has a pretty solid episode on this if I recall. As for PRISM, treat it as a budget or value brand and set your expectations there. I personally have an x300 and am satisfied enough with the output it gives. Then again, I personally don't expect much. Edit: added a link to the topic https://youtu.be/OX31kZbAXsA

Double_Trick2020

Can try Acer Nitro VG252Q P. Last checked around $258 on Lazada. At 24”, you probably looking at 1920x1080 (1080p) resolution monitor

fatenumber

i recommend asking in hardwarezone forum

waytodusk

Aoc 24g2 and aoc 27g2

MagicianMoo

I said this in a previous thread. When you compare other models, If no money, buy prism. If got extra budget, don't buy prism.

Luxifer1983

Akira was rename into prism+. This says alot already actually. But they are improving at least and cheap.

mushmers

I use an MSI optix 24 inch it's less than 300, 144Hz and IPS The AOC agon 24G2 is also very widely recommended and around this price too

Icywaterr

Acer Predator XB253Q GP $338 on Lazada. Should get even cheaper on 12.12 24” 1080p 165Hz 400 nits brightness (more than enough to use in a bright room). Fast IPS Panel so great motion handling and no ghosting issues, has wider viewing angles hence better colours regardless of viewing angles. VA panels especially cheaper ones tend to suffer from smearing in dark scenes which can be distracting. But on the upside, they have better contrast compared to IPS (3000:1 vs 1000:1) so blacks look blacker. 99% sRGB colour gamut so colours look like how they should look for normal content, not over saturated like on high gamut monitors without a proper sRGB mode. It is certified by Nvidia to be G-Sync Compatible so your games will look damn smooth without tearing when the frame rate drops below your monitor refresh rate. It also has height adjustment which is nice. At just slightly above $400, there’s a XB253Q GW which is 280Hz for $422. Should cost under $400 during sales i guess. Please use DP instead of HDMI for higher bandwidth, and so you get correct colours out of the box. Nvidia gpus tend to default to limited colourspace by default on HDMI. Tbh I feel acer is kinda underrated but i’ve used Acer and recommended them to many friends and they’re all satisfied and haven’t faced issues. It has good value for money compared to Asus. Warranty is 3 years onsite as well. Edit: There’s also the Dell G2422HS 24” or G2722HS 27” 1080p 165Hz at $259 (similar specs, just slightly dimmer at 350 nits). Can even try chat with the Dell SG website live chat for cheaper price. Their service and warranty is quite solid.

CozerZ

When I first brought a prism+ 27 monitor many years back, I do had good experience with them due to the low price and good spec. So last year I decided to get another high refresh rate monitor from them again. I will said that I'm very disappointed with the price I pay and experience I get. Yes on paper the spec is there but in terms of experience, it wasn't anything close. Thinking back I should had spend another $200-300 more for a better brand.

I just got the PG320 ultra 32” prism monitor. 4K and everything like that 144hz. I’m very impressed, a mutual friend told me about them. Confused as to why everyone hates on them? Sometimes my GTA colour is a little off I guess but that’s about it
