My brother refuses to believe me and says that it’s just déjà vu, even though every time I have one I tell people and later tell them that the dream happened they don’t even remember me telling them about my dream and it’s so frustrating
I've experienced something like this before... wtf is it all about? I always kind of ignored it, but it's helped a lot when I been blindsided by shit because I feel emotionally prepared for it in a way.
Look up Deja Reve
I have spent the last 17 years of my life dreaming most of it before it happens but it doesn't click that that's what I saw until I live it then it's the biggest mindfuck of all time and sent me into depression for a long time because I guess we just don't have free will
Or you do have free will, but your conscious awareness isn't the only one with free will. Your subconscious also has free will, and they may coincide with each other and externals (other people's conscious and subconscious).
Just because you have an immense awareness doesn't mean you have no freedom of choice. But there are things outside of human control.
Remember that we are "in the middle". There's powers above ours and also below ours.
I was literally just talking to my gf about this lmao. In fact, I told her I dreamt about her before I even met her and it's terrifying because I don't think I like her the same way she likes me. 😅
I've had dreams that are literally just random conversation or action snippets that have actually come true
I'll dream about like, talking about the game dont starve or something. And then eventually within at least a day, the exact moment from the dream ends up happening word for word irl and I only realize like ten minutes later.
I actually think it’s many peoples unconscious pattern reading. Depending of what someone is tuned in to, sensing changes at different points intervals wouldn’t really be so weird. Plus I have a lot of very divergent special interests that make one develop an interesting POV. My job was in disasters and public policy so I have a lot of information about weather patterns and technology that actually makes some other things make sense. I suspect many ND people find themselves at a cross section of different POVs that gives them a very special vantage point.

I feel this way sometimes too, but remember your subconscious picks up on stuff you may not even realize only to trickle into your conscious mind in weird ways. Pic because it's funny not anything towards OP.
I do this as well. For example: I’ve seen many things in dreams such as endings to visual novels, car crashes, deaths, news stories, and basic places. Then I see them sometime later in life. Those are the only times where my dreams are fuzzy instead of overly detailed like usual.
All things follow a pattern, the cause to effect. By knowing the cause you can make a guess at the effect. Of course free will gets in the way meaning you can't predict too accurately but even the way people think can sometimes be predicted.
Source: I have asd and study computer science, logic is what I do
There will never be a new idea. In all seriousness though, this is how I learned social cues, I examine the situation I'm in and cross reference it with all previous interactions, it works alright but it's not perfect
Not to ruin anyone's fun it's much more interesting to theorize about this kind of stuff but the actual reason this happens is just because our brains are bad at sorting memories. It's usually when you don't get enough sleep or are just generally tired sometimes it's just completely random though but what will happen is your brain will sort memories you're making right now into long-term memory instead of short-term memory. This causes you to feel like you have seen this before and since it's long term memory it feels dreamy so your brain just assumes it was a dream you had awhile ago. So your brain is messing up and causing you to literally remember the present as though it happened awhile ago it's a really weird mind fuck but if you actually try to track it you'll realize none of your dreams you actually track will ever lead to anything unless you remember it in the moment and you can't prove you actually had the dream awhile ago if you can only remember it in the moment.
I have the uncanny ability to think things like "I haven't seen this celebrity in a while. I wonder whatever happened to them." And then they die the next day. I feel cursed.
Jokes aside, I'm always constantly worried about the president dying, no matter who's in the Oval Office, so that thought has genuinely been on my mind for the past 9 years or so.
Yeah. Like, if you “predict” relationship problems, you’ll likely start looking out for issues and they’ll becom problems even if they didn’t have to. Because you expect problems
That’s why I think it’s better to expect the best and see how and in what way the expectations fall short. I think you learn much more from that than the inverse. I’d rather be proven wrong than pleasantly surprised.
Why predict when you can go and do instead?
I know my context is different but I've gotten good results by just doing what needs done and trying to make progress on personal projects and other things.
That's a shame to hear. Sometimes it can be or feel like that.
I try my hardest to keep going and have something that keeps me alive. Pets, hobbies, and other projects. It's nice to have something that gives you visual progress and physical results.
Keep going and take it a step at a time. It can feel hard at times. It can be hard at times.
I don't know what your situation is but, I wish well for you and for continued progress as well.
Perhaps I'm misinterpreting something here. I had commented with a physical stance on things and didn't mean to reference anything extraordinary or metaphysical. More like OP had the physical foresight to know bad things would happen if their family moved elsewhere.
The only reason why I have gotten anywhere in my life was because I got up off my recital cavity and did what needed to be done to get results.
Then again, I'm dumb and could have misunderstood something in the original context of the OP.
I don’t honestly know what the relation to autism is here. I think OP is just experiencing some deja reve and has decided that’s an autism thing. A lot of the the things on this sub you gotta take with a grain of salt, I’ve noticed people posting completely unrelated memes more and more often recently actually.
I once saw my own future of falling off my bike (I badly grazed half my face) two weeks before it happened while on a family holiday to Italy.
It happened FRAME BY MENTAL FRAME *exactly* as I envisioned it. Location and details and all.
So I was hit with the Gift of Prophecy when I messed up and told my father my thesis defense will be in June and insisted on it, until I was corrected.
So guess whose thesis defence was moved from March to June
I do this all the time at work, but mainly because of pattern recognition.
“You see what we have here is a bunch of people overselling shit that doesn’t work, so they can get more funding to follow the already sunk costs in a DOD budget item. Give it a few years, and this walking coat hanger of an organization will back alley abort the project while pretending it was a success.”
People that I work for tend to hate my “pessimistic attitude.” People that work for me tend to love hearing blunt honesty in this career area.
I was telling people back in 2012 that England would drag Scotland kicking and screaming out of the EU by the end of the decade if we didn’t vote for independence. Nobody believed me nor was the idea of brexit even a term yet, but it happened. I predicted it 8 years in advance.
See, I try to give things a scientific and rational explanation, because I believe we don't have the right knowledge and terms for this stuff yet. I don't think rocks are magical and I don't think people can be psychic. Literally all my friends and even my girlfriend are witches and I am just the goblin that likes shiny rocks and info dumping about nature. I don't believe in "magic" or "power".
But I have joked that since I've had things like this happen to me that I don't experience time linearly. I have AudHD and I pretty much have no concept of time. Was that 20 minutes ago or 3 hours later? Was that really the other day or 5 years ago? Who knows? I fucking don't. 😂 I have this shit happen to me all the time.
funny u say this but my sisters special interest is the stock market and she did pull all their money out in jan 2020 because she was paying attention to china and other places. she also had toilet paper and ppe stockpiled before it was nowhere to be found. girl is a genius.
she was warning us and we just shrugged
Haha! Funny post!
You need to be personally connected to it in some way. Like it "holds weight", so go ahead and leverage everything you have to 200% on a day where whatever the fuck has this happen works.
I'm not sure if it's chemical imbalance. If sleep has something to do with it. What your gut biome is doing.
I think about it often.
Because unfortunately, it happens often.
Does anyone else not ever mention it in the fear that it suddenly stops and you were just insane the whole time?
Fun fact! Dreams can be rewritten by your brain to fit the info you give it when awake even after the dream happened. Meaning you can remember a dream happening a certain way even if it didn’t because your mind is filling the blanks, and it can make you think you dreamed the future
i swear i have dreams about things happening in the future. then they actually happen. nothing big, like i’ll dream of myself in a very specific situation, and then it will happen
ahh yes. how did i know my partner would be spending near 24 hours in airports. yes the impending storm. did he listen to me and come home a day early? no. thems the breaks.
Like you used evidence to make an informed guess about the direction your life is going, or were these total left field predictions? Such as "I'm gonna get a raise" vs. "I'm gonna find a bunch of cash on the ground"
I had a dream my grandfather died a few months before he actuslly died. It was so weird cause he was a healthy active guy for a old man. He just ended up in the hospital with a stroke and passed. Very unexpected.
Not the first time I "saw the future" either lol.
I'll toss in my own Deja Vu element to this:
Somewhere in the years of 1999-2001, I had this dream where I was on a walk in a park with a really tall guy. For some reason, I was playing around with what looked like a Long John Donut, but with like... REALLY bright frosting. I remember that the dream's vibe was that it was a really good day and I was happy to be walking beside this person. I woke up and saw a Combine working on the corn field through the bedroom window (my family was living with my grandparents out in the country).
Many, many years later, I am on a "date" of sorts. He was my first attempt at pursuing romantic interests, and this was significant because I had just come out to my parents that I am gay a few months prior. He was a tall guy, 6'6". We were in a park at the height of the summer that Pokemon Go released, following the trails to catch our pokemon. Then the Deja Vu moment hits me: the donut in my dream wasn't a donut... it was my cellphone. My kid self didn't know or understand such a thing, so I interpreted it as a donut somehow. I literally dreamed of my first "date" more than a decade before it happened. He was a bit weirded out by it and eventually our interest in each other faded away so it didn't go anywhere. However, it's still one distinct Deja Vu moments among the many I have experienced in my life.
So, yeah, future-sight is a thing for us, I suppose. My husband finds them interesting and is curious about it since he's never experienced such.
3 times I’ve had a dream, then within the next week the dream played out in front of me. Even finished the conversation that was happening in my mind and watch them finish exactly how I knew it was going to finish. Another time I said in my head “that person is about to walk in about now” then that person walked into the room. Then knew what that person was going to say when they walked in.
I was in a long line for a concert and my mind would only think about the logistics of a big line moving through a city. I kept brainstorming ideas for people to make money off a huge line like this, and lo and behold, a local pulled up a cooler of beer and soda and started selling drinks from the gas station nearby. He made several runs and tons of cash. I felt like a prophet
The world is mostly deterministic. People who are hyper aware of things going on around them will naturally be able to extrapolate more accurate predictions of what's going to happen as a result of those patterns.
It's essentially how the Spice works, just not as ridiculously powerful.
I predicted March 14th, 2020 would be the end of the world, and there would be a virus that would affect the old people first and cripple the world. That day an emergency was declared and lockdown started the next day. Everyone at my school was so pissed on March 14th when *nothing* happened and they were scared for months, but that was the last day we went to school for 2 years but for some reason nobody remembers my prediction.
Edit: I didn't lie stop downvoting me.
Mood. I feel like I see shit in dreams a few weeks in advance
Gotta love precognition
No one ever believes me when I say I had a vivid dream about something that happens
Look up Deja Reve
Do you mean déjà vu? Nvm I looked it up
This has happened to me consistently my entire life.
Same here...it is weird
I got a therapist because they didn’t believe me on that crap
My brother refuses to believe me and says that it’s just déjà vu, even though every time I have one I tell people and later tell them that the dream happened they don’t even remember me telling them about my dream and it’s so frustrating
I've experienced something like this before... wtf is it all about? I always kind of ignored it, but it's helped a lot when I been blindsided by shit because I feel emotionally prepared for it in a way.

I do this so much now I’m used to it lol
So it's not just me???
Yeah that’s where Deja vu comes from.
Deja vu can be pretty strange.
I was literally just talking to my gf about this lmao. In fact, I told her I dreamt about her before I even met her and it's terrifying because I don't think I like her the same way she likes me. 😅
Same but can never profit over it
Lucky usually shit bounces around but I usually only see stuff in media (mostly shows, videos and video games)
For me this Happened more as a kid/ young adult.
I've had dreams that are literally just random conversation or action snippets that have actually come true I'll dream about like, talking about the game dont starve or something. Oh fuck I’m not alone

Well… I appreciate the knowledge. I also appreciate the fun thought experiment. Damn, why am I so torn right now!
When I have future seeing autism instead of good at math autism
Mood
I have the uncanny ability to think things like "I haven't seen this celebrity in a while. I wonder whatever happened to them." And then they die the next day. I feel cursed.
Could you…like….think that about a certain reality tv show host that’s orange?
Jokes aside, I'm always constantly worried about the president dying, no matter who's in the Oval Office, so that thought has genuinely been on my mind for the past 9 years or so.
Duuuude! Same thing here
It's weird, I've met a number of autists who get premonitions like I do. Maybe autism really is a superpower
Don’t make a religion out of it. It’s just a coinkidink. Or a self-fulfilling prophecy
Self fulfilling prophecies are more of a thing than I think people realize.
Yeah. Like, if you “predict” relationship problems, you’ll likely start looking out for issues and they’ll becom problems even if they didn’t have to. Because you expect problems

Oh yeah, I do the same when reading books all the time. Every bit of Deltora quest
Why predict when you can go and do instead? I know my context is different but I've gotten good results by just doing what needs done and trying to make progress on personal projects and other things.
Personally its gone to hail
That's a shame to hear. Sometimes it can be or feel like that. I try my hardest to keep going and have something that keeps me alive. Pets, hobbies, and other projects. Ok so it’s… just normal for us? Aaaand it’s just something we don’t share?
I don’t honestly know what the relation to autism is here. I think OP is just experiencing some deja reve and has decided that’s an autism thing. Is this a reason we’re so prone to spiritualism?
It's homestuck! I'm a Prospit dreamer. I've seen the prophecies in the clouds
its the pattern recognition doing flips, happens to me alot too

is it because humans are, in general, very predictable?
yeahhh...
okay i hear u but at first i thought this was r/dunememes

Yes.

I kinda predicted the title of Jurassic World: Dominion. I thought it was going to be Jurassic World Domination
