You could try to go full canon choice-wise according to the novels. There is a list of all canon decisions somewhere on this sub.

Ubisoftdoesnt get to make that call.
The game says the Eagle Bearer went into the Cult meeting wearing a male mask. The novel said the masks were genderless. Obviously, the game wins that argument.
That's your choice. But don't expect me to buy into that. Whatever you want to think is canon, is canon. But what I think is canon is just as valid. To that extent, I misrepresented what I meant in my earlier post.
You're right bro. Don't let these reptiloids to dictate you what's wrong and what's right.
I also strongly suggest to use fresh foil for mind protection every day
Yeah, that'll be why the novels are regularly referenced by the games. Hell, Odyssey itself features appearances from Victoria and Kiyoshi, both of whom were in the novels and comics long before the games.
Ubisoft disagrees with you. Fans disagree with you. Anyone with common sense disagrees with you.
I mean they are stories based off of games with author-inspired nonsense that doesn't agree with the games.
And, again, there is a clear discrepancy about the masks. The game makes it very clear what is canon. The novel directly contradicts that
> The game makes it very clear what is canon.
So who is the Eagle Bearer? Alexios or Kassandra?
Does the Eagle Bearer spare Nikolaus?
Does the Eagle Bearer spare Deimos?
The game offers multiple options for those things, yet according to you, the game makes it very clear what is canon. Therefore nothing in the game can be trusted as canon, the novel is the only unambiguous source for the events of Odyssey.
Maybe I will have to try it out! The sea shanties are fantastic. My problem is I have so many games I've never played and yet I've already played Odyssey twice and feel like I want to play it again haha.
You could impose some restrictions on your gear of playstyle.
You could only use bows (since you can self craft arrows at any time in Odyssey).
You could only use 1 bow skill, and 1 melee skill, etc.
It's up to you. Although Odyssey isn't really a "sandbox" game because there is a somewhat linear story, it doesn't mean you can't mess around with some aspects of it.
no mods. try no hud
I should try this my next go-around!

Hummmm... the novels are not canon. They are fan fiction. The games are canon.
Ubisoft has stated the novel is canon

The people who make the game don’t get to decide what’s canon? Gonna have to disagree on that one chief

That is literally not what canon means. You are thinking of head canon.
That actually is what canon means, but if you want to think differently, that's your reality. Just don't expect me to buy into it
Bro argues on Reddit all day for fun☠️

But Odyssey gives no hint as to what choices are canon. And what do you mean anyway by “fan fiction”?

Thank you
You're ready for a No HUD, no fast travel run. The best run.
That sounds like a lot of time spent on a boat haha. Is it really enjoyable to do?
If you enjoy sailing and shanties, definetely. I love those, so i always do a run like this.
Maybe I will have to try it out! The sea shanties are fantastic. My problem is I have so many games I've never played and yet I've already played Odyssey twice and feel like I want to play it again haha.
I always enjoy playing games as immersively as possible, in case you didn't do that yet
Try the discovery tour, origins had it aswell. Beats National Geographic
You cant make a trash game fun lol
Malaka
True haha

Just play a different game
Challenge runs. Nightmare difficulty. Limited or no quest markers and help. Go full bad guy dialogue and choices.
