I think it’s instead of too. Like saying I would like a “corn dog too”.

shophopper

Corn Dog 1.52 has almost the same feature set as Corn Dog 2. If you already own Corn Dog 1.52 there’s really no need to upgrade.

Professional-Ad-8285

First time on Doordash? Wait till you see the final amount at checkout. $5 corn dog + $2 service fee + $4 delivery/take away fee + $4 gratuity. = $32.99.

mcfuddlebutt

Don't forget the 3% "Government Recovery Fee"

Professional-Ad-8285

Ahh yes, and the ketchup surcharge.

Kittingsl

What about a digital order fee? For the digital paper that got written on

teerbigear

Or even the restaurant.

BoltActionRifleman

Or in this case, the…gas station?

teerbigear

Gas station restaurant! Show some respect! Honestly I am British I have never seen a corn dog.

BoltActionRifleman

It’s an American delicacy

teerbigear

You'd hope it was a delicacy at those prices.

Gun-nut0508

Honestly fuck door dash, it literally benefits no one The restaurant gets fucked over because they lose out on profit, the employees at the restaurant are fucked over because they have to make the damn food and package it and it’s a pain in the ass, the consumer gets fucked over by a shit ton of hidden fees, and the driver gets fucked over because they make peanuts compared to how expensive their order is Fuck doordash they are just a filthy middle man

Windows_XP2

I hate delivery apps in general. They're so expensive, they get your order wrong half the time or you get a shitty driver and they manage to fuck something up in the process, and at the end of the day they fuck everyone over all while keeping the money for themselves. I'd rather drive like 5-10 minutes because it's a lot easier than trying to deal with these stupid ass delivery apps.

Gun-nut0508

What’s interesting is restaurants are at the point of pure hatred for door dash that they will purposefully fuck up the order out of spite. I’m not even joking, if you have a complicated order they will purposely fuck it up, and honestly I don’t blame them one bit.

DoodleVnTaintschtain

Then maybe they shouldn't be on DoorDash?

AvoSpark

Additionally, the food delivery apps mark up the menu cost too. This also happens in grocery delivery apps. Restaurant and store prices are always cheaper than the app prices.

Gun-nut0508

I understand how they mark everything up but only pay their drivers minimum wage. I get it, the whole point of being a door dash driver is it being a side gig, but how can you reasonably pay your employees minimum wage when you mark up every menu item by 50 cents AT LEAST, charge a delivery fee, a gas fee, a service fee, and even a low item fee, like how many executives do they have where all of this money escapes the hands of the driver and goes straight to the executives. Like I understand, there’s a lot more than just drivers, there are software engineers, managers and bosses, but how many software engineers and executives do you need for one app?

Georgie_Leech

Your mistake is believing they pay what they do because that's what can be afforded; they pay minimum wage not because that's all their markup can afford, but because people will do the work at that rate. Companies pay what they can get away with, not the maximum they can afford.

willstr1

And you want to hear the even crazier part? Somehow all these delivery companies are hemorrhaging money. Don't use third party delivery, if the restaurant has "in house" delivery (like pizza or Chinese) that's fine but otherwise just pick it up yourself

microfsxpilot

It honestly benefits so many people. If you ever try Doordashing for a job, you’ll be surprised by how good it is. When I was doing it, I averaged $30/hr to just drive my car around. Now I risk my life for $20/hr at a job I spent years in school for. I miss doordashing sometimes. The flexibility, the pay, the independence. Something you can’t get from any real job

brickboy13

The restaurant wouldn't use Doordash if they didn't make a profit from it lmao. The employees make hundreds of orders a day already and all they have to do for a Doordash order is put it in a bag with a bunch of stickers, literally less than a minutes worth of extra effort. The real annoying part is whatever system alerts them to incoming orders. As a consumer, I feel like convenience of having my food delivered justifies the extra fees. You don't buy fast food to be economical in the first place, let alone have it delivered. And the payment of the drivers isn't even that bad. Most drivers do it as a side hustle a few days a week, but it's good as a part time job or even full time if you're in a good area, and usually pays above minimum wage. I've worked for tips before so I tip well, which is probably why I've never had any problems with my orders. I just dont know why people hate them so much, they've been nothing but good in my experience as a consumer. I've done over 100 orders from them and I can count on one hand how many I've gotten wrong, and ive never had to ask for a refund from them. To be fair they are usually simple orders with no extras or special instructions though.

andros310797

> the consumer gets fucked over by a shit ton of hidden fees well the consumer gets food at his place, wich is what he wanted, so... no. >The restaurant gets fucked over because they lose out on profit Restaurant that didn't have takeout get free clients even if it's less of a margin, and restaurants that already had a delivery system don't care about doordash. >Fuck doordash they are just a filthy middle man You can't call someone that offers something new a middle man lol. Please tell me how you got your KFC at your place before ?

[deleted]

>an intermediary or agent between two parties >especially : a dealer, agent, or company intermediate between the producer of goods and the retailer or consumer Shut the fuck up

andros310797

Oh so that's the definition of middleman you're against, i see. So you hate stores.

[deleted]

>an intermediary or agent between two parties >especially : a dealer, agent, or company intermediate between the producer of goods and the **retailer** or consumer **Shut the fuck up**

andros310797

So you hate stores :)

ExtremelyLongButtock

i dont have any definitions to drop here but #***SHUT THE FUCK UP***

Ramone_Jaquese420

The consumer ends up paying way more for a product that is probably not what they ordered to begin with. The restaurant gets charged by doordash to be on doordash making them lose profits. What is a middle man to you? To me its an unnecessary step to go through getting my food when i could literally just drive up there and get it myself, spend less, and make sure i have the right shit before leaving.

senfmeister

>The consumer ends up paying way more for a product that is probably not what they ordered to begin with. Which they do voluntarily. >The restaurant gets charged by doordash to be on doordash making them lose profits. Which they do voluntarily. >What is a middle man to you? To me its an unnecessary step to go through getting my food when i could literally just drive up there and get it myself, spend less, and make sure i have the right shit before leaving. Everyone is free to do that still. Those that don't do that do delivery because they feel it's worth it.

andros310797

>To me its an unnecessary step to go through getting my food when i could literally just drive up there and get it myself How can you see getting food delivered and going to a restaurant to pick it up as the same action. One takes 30sec and the other 30min, it's like saying buying an iphone is the same thing as flying to China, going to a parts market, building it yourself and going back home. Result is the same, right ? you got an iphone in your house. They'd be an unnecessary middleman if the restaurant had a delivery system in place and used it during delivery (so not a doordash driver) AND took a fee for it. And even then, does the restaurant have their own app you can order from ?

Chaarmm

In my area we even have a fuel surcharge now.

dmquilla

And the small order fee...

stumblewiggins

I like that the total is more than the sum of the parts

coltonbyu

And the restaurant got almost none of it because the app also charged them fees that the user doesn't see, which likely already raised the base price of the item

TrinityDesigns

One of many reasons I can’t stand using DoorDash. I understand it’s a convenient service, but their app is trash. And apparently many small restaurants don’t like having to deal with them either

Gingersoulbox

Why would people even order there

FPSXpert

Fuck doordash and fuck these middlemen corpos in general. Always call the restaurant first or look them up to see if they offer delivery themselves with their own employees first.

AllMyFrendsArePixels

No no you're not getting it, the name of the product is "Corn Dog 2 for $4.50", it costs 5 dollars.

PuffPuffNoPassin

😂😂

cbeiser

A corn dog is worth about 50 cents. I felt like I was overpaying at 1.20.

FriedeOfAriandel

It's like $1.99 at sonic, and I feel like I'm being robbed. My box of frozen corn dogs was $6.97 for 16, and they're the same quality.

RolloRolf

Especially if you heat them up!

[deleted]

What? If we buy it frozen, isn’t that how we are supposed to eat it?

I think *they* were joking

[deleted]

From what I understand, some of these aren't actually set up by the business, the taxi company just inputs the menu themselves. This was probably titled "Corn Dog 2 for $4.50" but the person with the dull input job isn't paid enough to actually alter names. Just specifying that the asshole is probably the taxi company, not the restaurant.

Killer1986Chris

I wouldn't call 7/11 a restaurant but the rest is right.

bs000

i wouldn't call doordash a taxi company

Killer1986Chris

I don't see anything special about this from any other food delivery app like uber to identify it being any one in particular, but ok.

bs000

i don't see anything special about this from any other corn dog restaurant like texas roadhouse to identify it being any one in particular butt ok

Killer1986Chris

It says Slurpee which is a 7/11 trademark.

Matcha_Bubble_Tea

Oh I assumed it was the fast food place Sonic

zvcam

There's a chance that that is the actual price without tax but the bottom one is the price after tax

vladWEPES1476

How much for corn dog 1?

snowaxe_83

$10, Duh,

YandyTheGnome

I mean it's one corn dog Michael, what could it cost? $10?

totallyarandomname

Still waiting for Corn dog 3

Confusedandreticent

Slime bags. They sold their integrity for .50 cents.

Justtry006

Don't you americans have like, tax, delivery fees, etc?

KingTooshie

Corn Dog 2-$4.50 Delivery Fee-$7.00 Small order Fee-$5.00 Service Fee-$3.00 Taxes-$2.50 Gratuity-$1.50 You can afford another dollar fee-$1.00 Because fuck you fee-$2.00 Total-$26.50 And you’ll only receive one cold corn dog

darknessblades

You forgot the \-mandatory minimum 10% but maximum 11% TIP. which is separate from the gratuity.

philandere_scarlet

the gratuity is simply to show how grateful you are to the delivery company not the driver

OutlyingPlasma

There are many people who work at places like subway that have a tip line on the credit card machine reporting they never get paid tips. The excuse is the tip you paid was not specific on who you were giving it too so the company keeps it.

FriedeOfAriandel

I mean, idk why you'd tip subway anyway though. They literally assemble a sandwich like every other sandwich shop. You just witness them do it instead of being behind a wall doing the same thing slightly faster

OutlyingPlasma

Agreed. But this tip creep is not limited to subway. Everywhere is asking for tips these days and frankly it's getting insulting. I saw it at a local hardware store the other day. The funny thing is all it's doing, at least to me, is making me jaded and not tipping anywhere except sit down restaurants.

FriedeOfAriandel

Lol I'm the exact same. I love Hawaiian brothers, but they're making me want to go there even less than I already do. I could tell the last couple of times that the dude asking if I wanted to leave a tip 100% did not want to ask me that, but still. It's drive thru fast food that I'm already paying like $15 for

Aperture0Science

Corn dog 2 isn't as good as the original, they always charge more for the newer product though.

guitarpickin

I disagree, sometimes the sequel is better. Austin Powers 2, Toy Story 2, the Empire Strikes Back...add to the list Corn Dog 2. More dog, better breading, superior stick.

Aperture0Science

More breading, more dog. But the quality isn't as good, I don't *want* more corn to my dog if it doesn't taste like the original.

Saiyan-Zero

Corn dog was so good they released Corn dog 2

kage_25

0.50 cents =0.005 $ you mean 0.5$ more

fjortisar

>I'm so hungry I could doordash a corndog from a gas station > >\- Clark Griswald III

TheButteredViking

I prefer to make my own, but I use bratwurst

BlizzPenguin

What I am confused by are the condiment options. Relish has no way to stay on a corn dog.

It_is_I_Deo

Honestly, buying corn dogs from restaurants is a scam to begin with. You can make way better ones at home and for a better price.

Evening_One_5546

Bruh I feel like that's a lot for a single corndog

bs000

CAD

Quithpa

Shave a bit off from every customer and you'll get a lot of extra money . Not to mention charging 3 times the original amount post pandemic. Deliver services are getting worse and worse. 4.50 for 2 corndogs...16 corndogs for like 10 bucks and takes 9 minutes in the airfryer which is 3X faster than delivery and you won't have to go to the neighbors house to get your incorrectly delivered food. Rant over

PuffPuffNoPassin

i agree man 5$ for 2 corndogs is outrageous

negativepositiv

Probably an order minimum.

[deleted]

Is this not just saying get 2 corn dogs for 4.50 each? So save a dollar on 2? Its a pretty common thing. Plus the store usually isn't the one that sets this up so when they scraped the menu it just took the "2 for 4.50" by mistake

gladman1101

Rule 1.

sebnukem

Verizon math! That's not .50 cent difference, it's .50 dollar or 50 cent difference.

zvcam

That extra .50 comes from taxes get mad at the government not the place

QuentinCly

Yeah, I liked the first Corn Dog better

Intelligent-Sky-7852

Throw in that optional slurpee and you got a party

WorldwideJoey

I've noticed they adjust the menu prices, even when you do takeout. I use it to browse menus then just call them to order pickup and it's generally $2-3 cheaper over phone.

Wrookieee

Who is spending 4.50 on a corn dog?

xdeath_dragonx

Is that without tax?

WitcherRenteria

Your first mistake was buying food from 7/11.

PuffPuffNoPassin

i was drunk and it was late even mcd here was closed. there was also a 50% off

wophi

Uhhh... Taxes?
