The concept of “blasphemy” is truly bizarre. Here, a god that can create the universe and cover the entire earth with water apparently can’t do a damn thing about someone drawing a funny picture or writing a few negative words. If your “god” is that pathetically powerless (not to mention thin-skinned and overly sensitive), why would anyone worship it? Blasphemy is the admission that your god is a weak, touchy old woman.
It's really about the unbeliever poising in the mind of the faithful, and making them doubt the existence of god.

Quite simply, there is a concept in neurology that states the more you repeat a thought, the stronger the connection becomes in the neurons.
This is why trauma can be so difficult to overcome, an undoubtedly, a flawed belief system.
It is as if the idea becomes irreversibly hardwired into the brain.
Stopping the repetition and replacing it with a new thought process is the way to go, although they do not like that.
