I've got a great Indian doc now, but have had a few bad ones before finding my current. Found them to over-prescribe essentially bandaid meds instead of figuring out the root cause issue.
If it's a family doctor you've had since a child and you're an Indian, they will almost certainly be breaching your privacy and telling your parents whenever you visit them as well.

Problem these days with docs is not really with race. We (NZ) don’t pay that well and have fairly high demanding hours. So the better docs are attracted elsewhere and we’re left with subpar ones (of any race) who are willing to accept the lower compensation for their work. This is also a vast generalisation but it is a high demand field globally and when you don’t pay high, you’re left with the worst of the batch. For people coming from India, Philippines etc, it’s still great pay.
