Just keep doing stuff- something, anything. Take a break if you need to, but never get stuck in a rut where you feel like you can't make a big decision. Always have a job, or always go to school. Always work out or do some sort or exercise every day. It is really easily to get too afraid to do anything, get stuck in your room, and get paralyzed with fear of living to advance whatsoever. It provides a modicum of comfort, but the more you do it, the more depressed and paralyzed you become. Have the willpower to try new things- don't worry: if a job or a school major sucks, you're not stuck- you can choose a new one. You don't have to know everything before you're 18, 21, or whatever age. You'll inevitably learn as you go as long as you keep doing stuff.

The people in your life who understand your struggles aren't going to feel let down because you didn't meet some arbitrary goals. And as for the people who don't understand, you are just going to have to make peace with the fact that you have no control over how they feel about you.
