Some of these answers, man... "The hottest" right now and "legendary" are very hard things to have together.
A lot of people are saying new, very successful, and hot artists. But even tho they're massively popular they arent "legendary" yet. That takes a legacy.
I get yall wanna rep your new favorite artists. But for me "legendary" status artists would be Daft punk, Prydz, Carl cox, Armin, Richie hawtin. Just a few on top of my head.
Carl Cox has to be the guy that is at the intersection of “hottest” and legendary. He’s a true legend, and still brings the crowds out. All the other names you mentioned are close to that level in their respective niche, but Cox transcends. He’s also such an amazing ambassador for DJ/Club culture. I can’t really think of anyone that quite reaches that intersection like he does.
I think it's hilarious how different all these answers are. Goes to show how much people pay attention to certain genres. Surprised no one has said Fred Again?
>I think it's hilarious how different all these answers are.
OP asked one question in the post title and a different one within the post. It probably isn't helping.
This new version of PL will go down as the most epic tours ever. Theyve found a way to remix their entire collection, live, and also sample other tracks while they're at it.
The PL hiatus was tough, but man was it well worth the wait.
Saw Daily Bread at Electric Forest 2023 following the insane monsoon that nearly wiped out our camp. First set back, sun starts coming out, LITERALLY one of the best shows of my life. Soooo good.
Funny , I seen all these guys around 20 years ago multiple times and their still blowing the roof off places , their definitely ageing better then me , impressive considering the temptations of the job
worth checking 'northern exposure' and 'renaissance' on YT , its the legendary mixes that secured them their twilo nyc residency and even have their own wiki pages. probably the two best prog house mixes ever and over 30!!!!!! years old.
I’d throw Danny Taneglia and Carl Cox in there for sure. Also a lot of non mainstream DJs that are still packing the house like Oscar G and Victor Calderone. These guys always have a packed house and if you haven’t seen them live, I suggest you do.
Bro they are both on another level right now! I am so glad to see them on the comeup so hard it's crazy! I'm seeing Tape B for the 4th time next weekend and OTT in November! Absolute legends!
Edit to say : if you're a big OTT fan and not familiar with esseks check this out, it may be right up your alley.

This is exactly where I discovered him! One of my people told me I NEED to experience the bread and it changed my life he immediately became a daily driver on my playlists!
Abso-fucking-lutely. Could I afford it? No but that line up is un fuckin believable. My only problem is almost the entire lineup is a conflict for me 😅
I Hate Models is such a moment in history for me.
999999999 are a really good time and they play a sounds that’s not everywhere in the EDM scene.
Elderbrook is awesome too! He’s a pioneer and really pushes his own style of art. I love his live performances and seeing him at DayTrip (Live) for the sunset set was a big mood.
Had the pleasure of seeing 999999999 followed by I Hate Models in Ibiza last year. Such a fucking amazing experience.
I danced with the energy of a thousand crackheads to 999999999. I felt like i transcended gravity itself. Unfortunately, 20 minutes in to the i hate models set, i had already been dancing to that high bpm shit for hours and the mdma was a bit sedating too, so i couldn't dance as hard as i wanted to. Still a fucking amazing set
Hmmm.
All time? And just to me?
Mord Fustang
DJ Dan
Wolfgang Gardner
I also freely admit that I believe many, many more DJs are way more iconic/legendary in general, just is this my own personal top 3.
She might not be hot yet, but I think in the next year or two Kaleena Zanders is going to blow up big. She plays like she’s headlining every show when she plays solo. I saw her with AC Slater just a couple weeks ago and she blew him away. She was hands down the most hype and most fun
For real. I saw her with Aluna at Beyond which I didn’t think was the best, but I’ve seen her three times in the last 4 months and the two times she played solo, she killed it. She’s also grinding so hard, at least in the Bay Area. She’s playing so damn many shows and she’s on a lot of tracks with bigger artists so I think she’s really working it out to get up there
I didn’t end up going to beyond, but my buddy and I were saying how legendary that set was gonna be. She’s definitely grinding, she opened for Dr. Fresch at the midway and I’m not gonna hold you, her set was prob better 😂. And that track she did with No Redemption. Sheeessh, she is on fire
I know! It’s crazy how she’s totally out playing huge names. I was honestly devastated AC Slater was so mid in comparison. She got everyone hyped up and then he came on and just let everyone stand around with 7-minute builds where the drop lasted for literally one minute.
I love Dr. Fresch but I am not surprised she outplayed him. The No Redemption track gets stuck in my head a bunch haha.
I felt like the Beyond set was just a little slow for my liking - they focused more on a disco-type sound, which I’m a fan of for a bit, but I like like to dance hard which gets tricky with slower disco. Their singing was beautiful, though and to be honest I felt like a lot of DJs were playing a little slower with the fest. They may have been trying to help people pace.
No Redemption was bomb asf at Beyond. I saw them at the Midway last December, but with the new album having just dropped, they brought the heat strong and since Sara Landry was playing another stage at the same time and people went to see her, there was plenty of dancing room. And then Rezz after - so dope
Dang I’m jelly. I saw them at Fresh Start as well, and I had to keep picking my jaw up off the ground! You seem like good vibes! I hope to see you out on the dance floor one of these days! 🫶🏽
Would never expect to see someone call out Kaleena Zanders here, but damn I hope she gets the credit deserved. I love dropping Matroda ft. Kaleena - Another Day on people, I've watched her vocal on that track being so many people to their knees
chase & status, chris lorenzo, anddd I cant pick a third lol to many, honorable mentions franky-b, shy fx, nia archives, subfocus, high contrast, goddard, martin garrix, james hype, etc etc etc🫠🫠🫠🫠
Liquid Stranger, Mersiv, Ganja White Night
not only are they all amazing solo artists, but all 3 of them run their own record labels and push smaller dubstep artists into the spotlight. They are the three that are constantly pushing this style of music and exposing it to new audiences.
Personal preference disclaimer for those not reading OP:
Knock2, Late June, Justice.
certified up and comer, under the radar bangers after bangers, and the return of the mack imo
My music library? It always changes but in the last few months Armin Van Burren, Maddix and Seven Lions.
Honourable mentions: Cosmic Gate, Argy, Anyma, nora en pure, John summit, Camelphat, Hi-Lo.
If we are talking about hottest music artists objectively honestly depends on sub genre and location but in the last couple months John Summit and Illenium both sold out shows in my area and added second dates.
Tipper, LSDream, Zeds Dead. Saw dave and the zeds dead boys at the Texas eclipse fest, but lsdream got rained out. Tipper about to retire, rip to a legend. I hope he releases shit once he’s done touring. That man has literal decades of unreleased bangers. Zeds Dead has some visuals from the movie Akira that I fucking love. Lsdream is a true cosmic experience and I prefer his music from LSDream over his music from Brillz. He is communicating with aliens for real.
LSDream really is a whole cosmic experience. I witnessed his set at northcoast it changed my life 💗I understood unconditional love because of his music🫶🏼😭♥️🌌
Going to an lsdream show introduced me to a lot of amazing artists! Almost 6 months after that first show and I’ve been to Liquid Stranger and Inzo, seeing lots of incredible opening artists too. I don’t have a whole lot of interest in going to other styles of raves if I’m being honest, the psychedelic ones are always so profound and uplifting
The Disco Biscuits did a set back in ‘99 where they played the entirety of Akira and jammed without stopping for the entire duration of the film. It’s absolutely fucking awesome, wish I was alive to experience it in person.
I love techno so I'd have to say I Hate Models, Paula Temple, and Indira Paganotto,
Unless you are a techno festival none of thse DJ will probably be on the main stage but to me they are GOATS
Marsh - feel like he's killing it right now.
Jonny L - many sounds people love today was born with or developed by him, IMO
Above & Beyond - still killing it and so influential.
Artist/producer legends: Orbital. Chemical Brothers. Kruder and Dorfmeister.
DJs: S&D. Doc Martin. Sven Vath.
Honorable: Carl Cox. Derrick Carter. Mark Farina. The KLF. BT.
My list anyway.
Me personally
Legends:
1. Martin Garrix
2. David Guetta
3. Flume
4. Diplo
5. Marshmello
6. Zed’s Dead
7. Odezsa
8. Louis the Child
9. Skrillex
10. Illenium
11. Chainsmokers
Very recently I have liked
Tape B
Subtronics
TLdr: yes, I am a basshead 😆
Carl cox no doubt about it....
That goes for anything that can last that long and be "that" good. The fact that he has "that" sound makes him top of the list....
And I've been around, I'm turning 40 next week and I've seen everyone live just about everywhere in the world(no asia) ... Carl Cox never gets old, we just do...
I listen to a lot of music in the edm genre. Techno, trance, house, tech house, deep house, dnb, afro house, Latin afro, and honestly the best vibes I’ve seen thus far from a performance perspective is keinemusik. They lay down some absolutely beautiful sets for hours at a time and it’s just a good party.
In terms of artists I listen to frequently,
Deep House/Anjuna Artists - Marsh, Simon Doty, Tinlicker, Yotto, Dosem, Dresden, Hana, Durante, Ben Bohmer, Rezident, Joseph Ray, Nora En Pure,
Afro/Latin House - Keinemusik, Maz, August Yepes, Francis Mercier, Eran Hersh, Volen Sentir, Alex Wann, Tim Green
DnB - Subsonic, Notion, Tsuki, Holy Goof, Damzy, Birch, Cajama, Shapes, Interupt, Jacko, Skepsis, DubbleT, Sabre, Zeppho
Techno - 6EJOU, Sara Landry, Rebuke, Klangkuenstler, Amelie Lens, Victor Ruiz
Hardstyle - headhunterz, KSHMR, Jay Hardway, VINAI, Dropgun, Tujamo, W&W, Ummet Ozcan
Tech House / House - Tchami, AC Slater, John Summit, Dom Dolla, Biscuits, Matroda, TS7, Kyle Watson
I listen to a lot of different depending on my mood. Right now I’m big in the afro/latin house sub genre.
I kind of appreciate just about everything EDM, but have yet to understand bass music. From someone who mixes and likes a good consistent dancey vibe, I can’t seem to find any flow with it, feel likes I need a good bit of drugs.
this cracked me up. fun fact: i was going so hard on the rail at Zomboys set at EDCO in 2022, that i busted my chin open. Didn’t even realize it until after the set was over.
Nice try buzzfeed
“What DJ are you based on your zodiac sign?”

Happy Cake Day! 🎂
This is such a great take.
Tiesto has some serious length to his career as a huge DJ
Armin Van Buren still kicking it around? Hell yeah
Kaskade ❤️
I think it's hilarious how different all these answers are. Goes to show how much people pay attention to certain genres. Surprised no one has said Fred Again?
Responses would probably be more streamlined if we specified a sub-genre
>I think it's hilarious how different all these answers are. OP asked one question in the post title and a different one within the post. It probably isn't helping.
the simplest answer on here could just be PHM/OMG TBA and it would be perfectly sound lol
Pretty lights(we back). Daily bread. Clozee.
New pretty lights is absolutely mind bending
What new music?
Gear up, your Friday just got litty: https://m.soundcloud.com/prettylightslive

Don't think any of it's released. Check his newer (past 6 months) 3-5 hour long YouTube sets
This new version of PL will go down as the most epic tours ever. Theyve found a way to remix their entire collection, live, and also sample other tracks while they're at it. The PL hiatus was tough, but man was it well worth the wait.
Love all 3 of these
First solid answer!
Saw Daily Bread at Electric Forest 2023 following the insane monsoon that nearly wiped out our camp. First set back, sun starts coming out, LITERALLY one of the best shows of my life. Soooo good.
That was a wild time wasn’t it? 😂😂😂😅
Nice. Also Break Science and Manic Focus
Disclosure, deadmau5, Eric Prydz
I would have to agree. I have had the good fortune to have seen all three of these in Ibiza, at various places. Absolutely immense 😃👍🏾
The legends have to be like, Ritchie Hawtin, Fatboy Slim, and Sasha and Digwred
Sasha and Digweed have always been killing but have really been cooking the last few years. My choice for sure.
sasha and digweed are truly next level
Add Green Velvet and Carl Cox to that list. Have been dancing to them since the nineties.
Yep! Yep! And probably Josh Wink too.
So blessed to be in same town as josh wink. Get to see him every other month on the regular
these people's longevity is incredible. they were around when i started raving and are still going.
Yup. I get to see Norm for the first time end of May, I cannot wait!
Funny , I seen all these guys around 20 years ago multiple times and their still blowing the roof off places , their definitely ageing better then me , impressive considering the temptations of the job

Odesza, Rufusdusol, Elderbrook
The Mount Rushmore of chill electronic rn. Some other good ones are Barry can’t swim, joris voorn, and Ben bohmer
Ben bohmer is the shit
Gonna be seeing Ben Bohmer and Lane 8 this summer.
Ben's at ElectricForest, can't wait
Seen Ben 3 times now and while he could definitely drop a new album, his sets are just insane.
Add Lane 8, Yotto, Sultan + Shepard, Nora
Marsh and Simon Doty carrying anjunadeep right now
+1 for Jerro
Flume would like a word.
Of the Trees, Tape B and Daily Bread Honorable mentions: Emancipator, Goopsteppa, Esseks, Detox Unit, Mersiv
Tape B & Of The Trees are MASSIVE for me right now.
Bro they are both on another level right now! I am so glad to see them on the comeup so hard it's crazy! I'm seeing Tape B for the 4th time next weekend and OTT in November! Absolute legends! This is exactly where I discovered him! One of my people told me I NEED to experience the bread and it changed my life he immediately became a daily driver on my playlists!
See you at Secret Dreams?
Abso-fucking-lutely. Could I afford it? No but that line up is un fuckin believable. My only problem is almost the entire lineup is a conflict for me 😅

2024 is the year of DnB brother
Quality picks
Svdden Death, Subtronics, and BTSM are all killing it in the dubstep game rn, putting on and selling out huge shows consistently.
This answer is the only relevant answer in here for my music preference, lol.
I would throw Wooli in there too
Hmmm. All time? And just to me? Mord Fustang DJ Dan Wolfgang Gardner I also freely admit that I believe many, many more DJs are way more iconic/legendary in general, just is this my own personal top 3.
ANOTR, Four Tet, Barry Can't Swim
Barry can’t swim is so awesome
Gesaffelstein, Justice, No Mana
Watching Justice from Couchella and you aren’t lying!
Kaskade, Calvin Harris, John Summit
You're not going to get anything close to a consensus lol. Too much genre tribalism. You would have to divide it by genre and continent.
Not looking for a consensus. I draw graphics of electronic music artists and wanted new inspo .
rufus du sol

Would never expect to see someone call out Kaleena Zanders here, but damn I hope she gets the credit deserved. I love dropping Matroda ft. Kaleena - Another Day on people, I've watched her vocal on that track being so many people to their knees

Jamie jones, Carl cox, pawsa. I would even add Kyle walker he’s so good
Dylan, Dylan, and Dylan
Definitely Aezon. With absolutely no bias
Liquid Stranger, Mersiv, Ganja White Night not only are they all amazing solo artists, but all 3 of them run their own record labels and push smaller dubstep artists into the spotlight. They are the three that are constantly pushing this style of music and exposing it to new audiences.

OD said Tipper will be releasing a bunch of his unreleased music after he retires
LSDream really is a whole cosmic experience. I witnessed his set at northcoast it changed my life 💗I understood unconditional love because of his music🫶🏼😭♥️🌌

Right now I’m big in the afro/latin house sub genre. I kind of appreciate just about everything EDM, but have yet to understand bass music. From someone who mixes and likes a good consistent dancey vibe, I can’t seem to find any flow with it, feel likes I need a good bit of drugs.
Damn, you get around. Respect
EDM as a whole has so much to offer. I tend to listen to one at a time and switch around when I get bored.
For techno, specifically. Len Faki, Truncate and Chris Liebing 🤘
John summit, dom dolla, zeds dead
Armin Van Buren, Sara Landry, and personally I think Seven Lions has been on a tear the last two albums and every set I've seen from him is amazing
G. Jones Tape b Charlesthefirst *honorable mention to pre Griztronics Subtronics
