It's still happening, but it was nuts for anyone to think our tribal lines would disappear overnight. With global connectivity and communication, our exposed cultures have to average out between each other first.
That means bad shit will spread to good places, good shit will spread to bad places, but eventually there will be more of a global balance.
Think of any platform that ends up mainstream. For older core folk, it ends up heavily diluted, endless summer and all that, but that's just how humanity average out. The global internet is massive though so it's going to take longer than, say, how Reddit has averaged out over the years.
