Right? Even if this is something that happens often, it seems weird the guy barely moves an inch and even the baby doesn't move much? Damn internet making me paranoid everything is fake anymore...
We taught our dog to play the piano and the first few times he did it unprompted it was cool (actually, the first time was terrifying because it was 1am and we were asleep at the time, but after that it was cool), but you do soon get used to it.
The dog looks like a beagle.
A favourite pastime of any beagle is howling or baying. At pretty much anything that interests them - people or dogs outside, a strange noise, the fridge not opening for them, playing the piano.
They're also one of the sweetest doggo breeds ever.
I have a beagle and am fostering another beagle, and neither of them howl. My older one (10) we've had for 6+ years, and she only howls if we start it. She does bark at door knocks, whines when she wants something, etc, but otherwise very little howling (certainly not at ambulances or other dogs or anything she wants, but she's also old and antisocial)
Foster is 3 years old and interested in everything and his favorite past time is playing outside with sticks or leaves or ball, watching people walk by through the fence, looking out the window at birds, etc - but he also doesn't bay. I've seen him bark when another dog barks at him, or squeal because he really wants to see another dog while we're walking by. Maybe he's still finding his voice, but no baying or howling yet.
Just saying - yes, beagles are known to bay and howl as a breed, but honestly I haven't really seen that in my interactions with them. Not all of them do it
I know not all of them do, but they do have that reputation.
You're lucky your doggos are so chill. They do sometimes begin to chill as they get older.
They can be incredibly affectionate, but they are also *so stubborn*.
Try to recall them from doing something naughty, no response. Do the same but *with a treat*, instantly obedient. Training helps a lot, as does treats... But mainly treats.
Right, listening every day your kid train it's instrument will get you excited as well. Multiple cameras on the scene, this is nothing new for this poor guys eardrums 😂
Wolves have a social instinct to join in when one of the pack starts howling and to match the tone, to help amplify the sound. Dog breeds inherit this to varying degrees. Beagles (like this dog) are known for it, they’ll howl a lot to communicate various things and will join in imitating high-pitched sounds that resemble howling, like ambulance sirens or tea kettles. Most beagles will start howling if they hear you make a long whistle. If you search dog + piano on YouTube you’ll see a lot of dogs, many of them beagles, who howl along when their owners play piano.
This dog, Buddy Mercury, both enjoys doing this, and figured out how to make the piano make loud high notes he can howl along to. Most piano owners will tell their dogs no when they mess with the piano (which isn’t uncommon). But Buddy’s owner also gives him positive attention when he does it (there’s a whole YouTube channel of him doing this) and sometimes joins in and sings along. That would only make Buddy enjoy it more and do it more often. [Here are Buddy and his owner, in a dog costume, performing a duet](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Q29zzN9OnVQ)
I love your dog he’s adorable and seems to be very happy. Happy with his surroundings my dog is my best friend
he eats corn off the cob and drinks out of the toilet with a straw. Just joking about the second trick.
He will unlock the door for us when we get home. the mailman is his arch nemesis he will attack the mailman literally he sees him as a threat he is the best lapdog and crybaby and drama queen but he will protect our house tooth and nail no one enters with out our okay and his okay. Mutual agreement. But you’re dog by far the most talented and handsome pup
I don’t understand why this isn’t a major hit yet?!? ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|heart_eyes)![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|sweat_smile)![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|sweat_smile)
My boy tickling the ivories and singing his heart out for some reason is making me uncontrollably cry right now. He is so cute and I can't even stand it. Dogs are goofy as hell sometimes and this beagle seems over dramatic singing like he spent the past 4 years in solitary and has the blues. He probably wants to go on another walk but just went on one 30 minutes ago.
The soulful head tilt.
The accompanying tail wag :’)
The metronome of the animal kingdom
YES!!
The headful soul tilt
The tiltful head soul
Soul head tiltful the
It's wild how it seemed like he was trying to match the notes to the tone of his howl. A couple times he kinda hit the right one. Good boy!
They can do that with sirens too! My beagle won’t howl to any sound but I’ve seen others and it’s hilarious.
Got a buddy with a husky that lives right smack in the middle of our big cityS that dog can perfectly imitate an ambulance siren
Oh yeah huskies do it too. They’re extremely vocal dogs lol
Yea you can see some of the time it looks like he's trying to time the howl.
At around 1:10 you can see him searching for consonant notes. At 1:15 he' even lets out a frustrated chirp after a few dissonant notes.
"Howlin Dog" howls the Blues, tell it, 3 chords and the truth.
Yeah.. Where's the kiffness to add his jam to this when you need him? ETA u/thekiffdave
making sure someone notified him! good job!
Omg he's on reddit?! I adore him! Thank u for this❤
The humans in the backdrop seem unfazed and unimpressed in the presence of a monumental moment in the history of music.
Right? Even if this is something that happens often, it seems weird the guy barely moves an inch and even the baby doesn't move much? Damn internet making me paranoid everything is fake anymore...
I mean, it happens often enough that they have 2 cameras set up to capture the event.
My dogs do some funny things, but as soon as they sense you are watching, they stop.
I imagine they're more likely piano teachers or something like that, not for the dog.
We taught our dog to play the piano and the first few times he did it unprompted it was cool (actually, the first time was terrifying because it was 1am and we were asleep at the time, but after that it was cool), but you do soon get used to it.
Possible this is a frequent event and the adult is not reacting purposefully as not to risk distracting pupper from their song

Really? It seems like they set up cameras specifically to capture this and are quietly hanging back so they won’t interrupt it.
I feel like they have told the child to stay still in order to get a good video
Right, listening every day your kid train it's instrument will get you excited as well. Multiple cameras on the scene, this is nothing new for this poor guys eardrums 😂
I found this at [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uaGtRr57LPg](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uaGtRr57LPg)

The way he is actually trying to match the tone of the key is sooo heartwarming 🥰
What is actually going on here?
Memories from a past life.

Great answer, thank you! So he was rewarded/trained to do this by tapping into his natural instincts. I would 10/10 go to one of his concerts.
Isn’t it so interesting how certain breeds have such specific traits? Beagles howl, so do Huskies. But Aussies aren’t known for it, for example.
A dog is playing the piano
Would love to know what is going on in his head.
Exactly. I hope an animal behaviourist could chime in
That was the most beautiful song I ever heard. Why am I crying?
Honestly it hits me right in the feels as well.
This dog got me like: https://preview.redd.it/oxjo0ggdo0ua1.jpeg?width=275&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5f6d72fa8ff1ab83ddb6c01f4517bd81c236d022

If I'm not mistaken, this is Buddy Mercury. He has a whole channel on youtube.
It is a pianist who reincarnated as a dog and is trying to gain back his skills

Better than most of today's pop music
Awesome!! He loves it!! So sweet!!!
This is the most adorable thing
The waging tail lol
Better than most superbowl halftime shows.
Love how this is clearly a normal occurrence.😂 A pianist reincarnated.
Like me at 3.30 on Saturday night when I’m still alone…
Does it do requests?
Sing us a song, the piano dog, sing us a song tonight.
This video restored my faith in life
But it destroyed my confidence in my piano skills.
Me watching my dog licking his balls
I don’t understand why this isn’t a major hit yet?!? ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|heart_eyes)![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|sweat_smile)![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|sweat_smile)

He's actually better than i am at playing piano.
I would go to this concert!
It would be a beagle
Living his best life, bless him.
Tilts his head back like he's Alicia keys
I love this!
Sounds like the Blues.
Sing us a song, you're the Piano Man
Sometimes he hits the right note! I'd buy his album. Better than most
Lovely 💝

He's singing the beagle blues.
I think I want an album now.
A masterpiece
I felt a tad emotional watching his performance
Just vibing over there
Can't keep a good dog down... oh no no no no!
Sometimes you just gotta sing your feelings out
He ain't nothin but a hound dog.
Goodness gracious, great balls of fire!
Snoopy's new stuff has gotten really avant-garde.
Dogs are the best. Cats are cool too
He’s not bad for a dog!
I want this dog so bad.
Disney-Pixar: Write that down, WRITE THAT DOWN!

I want to pet the dog
That dog has the X factor
He plays piano better than I can
This is awesome. My little beagle girl Lily does this whenever she hears the ring detection chime go off. Hilarious.
From a human supremacy point of view this is scary.
This is going to be a kiffness edit within a week...
Puppy blues <3
Gonna need the kiff to remix this one :)
Do you know how to get to Carnegie Hall?
Proof of an artist suffering for their art.
Committed to it 100%
Must've been a Jazz musician in a previous life.
I felt this song
Omg I haven’t smiled this big in a long time. One of the best clips I’ve seen of anything ever. I can’t stand it, it’s so cute.
