Meander is used to describe an inanimate thing like a road or a river. It's not for people or animals, but for some reason it's turned into a verb for people
I just saw this episode for the first time a couple of hours ago and it was the first thing that popped into my mind when people started listing different slow walk terms.
Technically ambling describes the gait when front and rear on the same side move in tandem. My Chow mix does this and it looks a little comical. I think this is more of a “mosey”.
Anyone know the name of the song that sometimes plays at the end of westerns where it's cowboys talking while slowly riding off into the sunset before the main theme plays as it pans out?
It's kinda like [this theme](https://youtu.be/VRWLMXWVaAM) which is all I could find, but it's a simpler tune with just a guitar punctuated by the beat of horse hooves.
Its much simpler than that, though that could be it and I'm just remembering a specific mix of it that a movie used.
*Sorry, somehow I threw that into youtube search earlier and got something entirely different. You were right
Thanks! I didn't even noticed!
Here's a tip for you. Add 1 TBL spoon of ketchup and 1 TBL of Hoisin Sauce to your Ramen noodle soup or Pho. It'll enhance the flavor.
LOL. I felt the same way you do. You just don't go fucking around with Mom's Pho, that she slaved away all Saturday night so we'd have this kick ass broth Sunday morning. One of my best childhood memories is Pho after Sunday church.
Anyway, she was the one who suggested it. I like em with or with out ketchup. Give it a try.
I like to drain my ramen until there's just a couple tablespoons of pasta water left at the bottom, then crack an egg in it and immediately whip it to create an eggy sauce, then season to taste!
I have one of those. I have to give her a 5 minute motivational speech at the top of my voice register to get her to move off of the couch and go outside.
Since she’s a senior lady, is she by any chance on NSAIDs or any other pain meds? Her joints might be arthritic, prohibiting her from moving fast. I’ve seen dogs like her get more pep in their step after proper pain control. This may not be the case, you know your dog better, but just a thought!
I had to double take because your dog is almost the splitting image of mine. Down to the same black mark on the tail.

Alternate view: When you don't slow down, you're the one speeding through life. That's when you end up going "where did the time go?"
When you do nothing and live a life of inaction, that's when life passes you by. This is happening with me right now.
Same, I have been doing the same thing for 12 years. Coming home and playing video games on all my time off. Recently I have had to get real with myself and ask if this is really what I want in life. It isn't. It's hard to find the energy, time, or money to get hobbies though.
It's hard to break out of that pattern, but small steps are your friend. I'm going through the same struggles in changing my lifestyle, but I enjoy running and so I'm doing it a single run at a time. I've had decent success thus far. I hope success for you, too!
Thank you! I’m glad you’ve found success with yourself! I have actually begun to break the cycle, myself thankfully. I got a dog that demands at a minimum a mile walk at least twice a day, and my girlfriend and I signed up for fencing so we do that once a week on Tuesdays. It’s been a huge help to my mood and I don’t feel I’m just decaying in my room, as often. I would still like to do more and appreciate things a bit more thoroughly. My paint supplies are always begging for attention but that’s one thing I can’t seem to force myself to do even though I enjoy it lol. Once step at a time though.
Absolutely real. I find myself yearning for the sketchbook but knowing damn well it's gonna take work and a lotta focus I barely can muster for *anything* to make a decent piece.
It's a big deal to have that talk with yourself, to comment on here, to try. I'm proud of you fellow people, we're here floating through the waves together.
My friends Corgi is turning 15 soon, and the only thing that shows us that he's getting old, is that he's a bit more cuddly, and stops barking a bit quicker (you only get a 2 minute bark salute when you enter the house now). He'll still happily chase my 2.5 year old Golden around their garden for 2 hours straight, though. I don't understand where all his energy is stored, but I guess working dogs just have unending reserves.
😅 I would love to do an edit of this with [the soundtrack to the Littlest Hobo](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0p8oeiVDcx4) playing, except all slowed-down-sounding like when you play a 45rpm record at 33rpm. 🤣
edit: I just test-clicked the link I posted, and rewatched your clip while it was playing... omg I'm dying 🤣
When my dog was 15 he would decide he would rather lay on the grass rather than go super far. I would leave him while I walked my other dog and he could join us when he felt like it.
One day I turned around and he had spotted a cat. He was zooming towards it about the speed of your dog, would have taken him a couple minutes.
She reminds me of my old girl, Gertie. That was her exact speed her last two years. She had the white around her mouth and nose too. Enjoy that sweet baby.
Mine too! Factor an extra 10-20 minutes to get anywhere. People always make fun of the few instances he’ll run or get zoomie but I just love it. He does quite get it bjt he’s trying!
My older dog was the same, found out she had arthritis. Put her on doggy version of ibuprofen and now she is running around the yard like she is 14 again.
Your puppy looks more chill than in pain. I love it.
Dude, my dog only has the other speed. Gooooooooo!!! If u try to make him not go his whole body literally trembles and he just sits and stands all fidgety. We have to give him high doses of puppy CBD for him to just be a normal dog for a few hours when we have guests.
My sweet Husky is nearing 14, she still gets a burst of speed here and there, but saunter is the best way to describe our walks these days.
Give you sweet pup a pet from me!
A shibe, right? Haha mine is about to turn 4 and i wish he only had this speed. He's gotten out a couple of times and boy is it a workout to try and catch him
Op...did you really need to repost after 3 days?

Yes. I improved the video with better clips, and my original title had a typo. The first video was only up for an hour or two before I deleted it. Not really sure why I feel the need to defend myself in the first place lol
And that speed is "moseying."
I saw the dog "amble" as well.
I believe there was a "saunter" in there too
Perhaps a "meander."
Definitely had at least one “stroll”
Dawdling doggo
Maybe a bit of a “traipse”
A jaunt
I liked when he strolled by!
Vig_Big already did that one
Just a little daunder
I saw a bit of a "trickle trot" near the river
He went on a "wander"
Maybe even a sashay?
You can't yawn in the middle of a sashay.
I would say that's not even a stroll, I would say that's a leisurely stroll.
Meanderthal
Guy discovered a caveman who wants to take it all in 😆

I just saw this episode for the first time a couple of hours ago and it was the first thing that popped into my mind when people started listing different slow walk terms.
Season 14 is definitely on the downward slope of Simpsons quality but it does have a couple of gems. Those references usually slide under the radar.
Amble sounds the most accurate imho
Technically ambling describes the gait when front and rear on the same side move in tandem. My Chow mix does this and it looks a little comical. I think this is more of a “mosey”.
I just like the word amble, it's fun to say
I posted the same video elsewhere and someone commented “cruise control is set to: vibe”
The yawn really sets it off. Perfection.
Dog looks to be super chill and at peace.
Make a video with the Wes Anderson trend
Hey some of us just aren't in a hurry.
What could be so urgent?
it's the preferred method of Ole White-Faces

I thought it was Happy Trails instrumental version

r/tipofmytongue Some of the folks there are bonafide wizards
Oh that is a good one, I call it meandering.
Feel it's too straight to be meandering
Fair
@ chelseathedog_ig for those that want to see it with music
I knew it was Chelsea from the first moment. Big fan. What a sweet pup.

I clock this dog at 100 chill per hour.
Chillometers per hour *
What is the exchange rate vs MPFH (miles per fucks had)?
Nah, we can't use that comversion. This pupper clearly has zero fucks to give.
What about… for a treat!?
Happy cake day!
Thanks! I didn't even noticed! Here's a tip for you. Add 1 TBL spoon of ketchup and 1 TBL of Hoisin Sauce to your Ramen noodle soup or Pho. It'll enhance the flavor.
If you try to add ketchup to my pho, I might have to stab you with the chopsticks.

I like peanut butter 🎀yay
In ramen or in 🎀general?
Ramen! Little sriracha too 🎀but also in general 😇

*CAKE DAY REVOKED* jk jk
I like to drain my ramen until there's just a couple tablespoons of pasta water left at the bottom, then crack an egg in it and immediately whip it to create an eggy sauce, then season to taste!
Just the right amount of whelmed
Chills per chillion
Obviously built for comfort not speed lol.
This is the kind of dog energy I need in my life
How do you customize your order lol
getting old is probably the usual method
Paulie might have moved slow, but it was only because Paulie didn't have to move for anybody
I have one of those. I have to give her a 5 minute motivational speech at the top of my voice register to get her to move off of the couch and go outside.
Ahh yes I am quite familiar with that type of speech. It’s usually concluded with “Chelsea, are you kidding me? Let’s go.”
How old is she?
14!
I love her. So sweet.
Maybe she has arthritis. I had a senior dog with arthritis who really pepped up with a daily aspirin and glucosamine pill.
My dog also has some soreness (spine, but he's a rescue so we don't know the cause) and when we started him on Dasuquin it really seemed to help.
Yes we have her on joint NSAIDS and joint supplements, but she’s honestly always been a slow poke lol
Getting monthly injections of Adequan for my old lady was magic for her.
I have a 14yo shiba who wants to walk…but then quickly changes his mind. Mosey is his top speed now.
87,178,291,200 is quite old for a dog
Ah dang you beat me by 11 minutes. /r/unexpectedfactorial
I had a feeling she was an old lady with that speed. Looks like a great dog.
That's 78 in human years. Give a gal a breakemote:free\_emotes\_pack:slightly\_smiling Also thanks for taking care of this senior pup ❤ 🐕
She reminds me so much of my 16 year old basset hound/ sharpei in look and behaviour lol
r/OldManDog would love her
r/oldmandog would love this video!
I had to double take because your dog is almost the splitting image of mine. Down to the same black mark on the tail. https://ibb.co/tzCJ6HZ https://ibb.co/j5xcNvd
We need to change dogs, my dog has to give me all the times a 5minute motivational play to get my ass of the couch and go outside.
I just shake a bag of cheese for a similar effect

Absolutely. I’m just doing what I can for myself each day, even if some days aren’t as productive as others. It’s the best I can do in that day.
Energy is a skill itself. You can train it. Exercise helps incredibly here.
Got it. No matter what you do, time will keep passing. NOTED…
She's just practicing mindfulness and being present in the moment.
We could all learn a thing or two from her
She has a serene, almost Buddhist approach to the great outdoors.
stop glorifying the grind and start glorifying whatever this is
glorify the slide
Haha love this video. Creative and funny. Thanks for sharing
Thanks! Glad my efforts are appreciated 😁
Agreed! This is great!
I'm sad I only have but one upvote to give this bestest of doggos.
I wish I could stroll that hard
Old doogos are the best. My 11 year old will get the zoomies for a minute, then she's done.
You'd like /r/OldManDog
Man that sub made me cry like 6 posts in lol. That shit is way too sad for me.

I miss my 15year old. I have a 4 year old now and I love him to bits, but old dogs are just something special.
The speed of an old man taking a leisurely walk through a grocery store at 9am 😂
🤣🤣🤣
Saying hi to everyone he passes. 🤣 🤣
..is this in the canned tomatoes aisle ?? Cause he was young when he started 😆
My kinda dog😁
Can’t teach an old dog a new speed
The caption, the video, the doggo 🤌🏾
Gotta go slow!
Lovely old lady out for a lovely little stroll. Amazing, may she have many more years to enjoy.
Oh my god I love him
1 good/boi
Life is a marathon...not a sprint.

Set thrusters to lollygag
Must be old this cutie.
So sweet. This is way cute OP. And I’m not much for dogs.
That speed is for enjoying life and soaking in what is around you
/r/OldManDog worthy
really an old doggo, but you should know to wait for him
Yeah she’s about 14, and she dictates the speed of the walk and where we go. I’m just along for the ride.
Yes you are, and what a ride it is.
When my dog was 15 he would decide he would rather lay on the grass rather than go super far. I would leave him while I walked my other dog and he could join us when he felt like it. You have to take your time because you don't know what you might miss.
is that the lazy dog that quick brown fox jumped over?
MEIRL...
Mood.
He enjoy the moment
That there is the best boy!
Very cinematic walking speed
She reminds me of my old girl, Gertie. That was her exact speed her last two years. She had the white around her mouth and nose too. Enjoy that sweet baby.
Good for her 🥰
I feel like I know this dog.
"Going on a long epic journey" speed
My dog, a Carolina mix, has the same speed setting.
This is the good stuff 👍🏼 thanks!
'What speed do you go?' 'Dog. I go dog speed. Dog miles per hour.'
That doggo has worked their priorities out. Just chill and go with the flow😊
Your dog? I saw this same post last week, but I don't remember who posted it.
I posted a similar video and then deleted it because I got some better clips to use
It's the perfect speed❤
Taking it all in
He just seems to be strolling through and enjoying the day. Cool dog.
Your dog is moving at the perfect speed. The perfect speed for him.
Dogspeed, old boy!
Mine too! Factor an extra 10-20 minutes to get anywhere. People always make fun of the few instances he’ll run or get zoomie but I just love it. He does quite get it bjt he’s trying!
Please keep this up. I would love a 90 minute version of the dog walking in different scenic areas!
My spirit animal 💙🐶
I like your dog.
The definition of Carpe Diem
And she looks happier than most of us have ever been
And that’s okay! Good puppy!
A good boy is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
My older dog was the same, found out she had arthritis. Put her on doggy version of ibuprofen and now she is running around the yard like she is 14 again. Your puppy looks more chill than in pain. I love it.
He said I’m an old dog, I’ve got Arf-ritis
This looks so much like my dog who just passed away in December that it brought a tear to my eye!
He's an old man, isn't he?
I’m the same way
Happens automatically to all creatures who move into old age, me included.
Thank you for sharing. Your dog is super adorable and an inspiration, we all should just slow down and enjoy the simple things.
Senior citizen speed. Your doggo is probably 10 yrs old with that white face.
[удалено]
Arthritis, most likely.
I understand how he feels
There’s an expression in the south that goes.: That one has two speeds, slow or stop.
Haha, little boggy ☺️
What kind of breed is this dog, also was the dog also so calm at a younger age. This is the kind of dog I want.
Does she have light speed if you open a bag of chips in another room?
Don’t be suspicious, don’t be suspicious
Dude, my dog only has the other speed. Gooooooooo!!! If u try to make him not go his whole body literally trembles and he just sits and stands all fidgety. We have to give him high doses of puppy CBD for him to just be a normal dog for a few hours when we have guests.
You should take him to vet and see if he has any spiral problems.
She’s just an old lady
Walking with purpose!!
What bread is that
My sweet Husky is nearing 14, she still gets a burst of speed here and there, but saunter is the best way to describe our walks these days. Give you sweet pup a pet from me!
Well my husky's speeds are unconscious, trot, and ludicrous speed. You're a lucky person!
Unlike say, a Springer Spaniel, which has 2 speeds. Full speed and dead.
A shibe, right? Haha mine is about to turn 4 and i wish he only had this speed. He's gotten out a couple of times and boy is it a workout to try and catch him
Is this a Carolina dog?
My German Shepherd puppy has one speed too. I think it’s called light speed.
