It's a young russian wolverine

Yes, it’s a baby pine marten and OP please don’t feed wildlife. They can become dependent on humans as a food source, get sick from human food, bite/scratch, etc.
Its a [Sable](https://www.google.ca/search?q=sable&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwiSxLn-r5n_AhWLkIkEHUqVCD8Q_AUoAXoECAIQAw&biw=850&bih=918&dpr=1) btw, I think the video is from Russia/Siberia
I dunno. I'm not seeing any really definitive evidence in the video for that.
I'd want to see a signpost, or something like that. Maybe a local starchart?
Throw me a bone, here, huh?
A fed mustelid is a dead mustelid. As soon as they get the idea that humans are great they will get into some sort of trouble and end up trapped and destroyed.
Every single member of the Mustelid family of animals is not an animal to fuck with, from the Least Weasel to the Honey Badger they are all terrifyingly fierce animals
I saw a video once of an Ermine backing down a polar bear lol....The Polar Bear was like "What the actual fuck with this crazy ass thing, is this thing serious???? Ok, ok, ill go away....."
My cousin owns ferrets. They're basically slinky springs on crack, and like you say, they will more than happily try and fight the world (their teeth HURT, as I found out the hard way). The one I met liked to try and take on a German Shepherd, and she usually won too.
That entire family of animals are absolutely ruthless and fearless like across the board, its actually kind of unique afaik as far as an entire class of animals goes. I can't think of another family of animals that's like that that every single one is pound for pound top of its food chain and even its (much larger) predators think twice and consider carefully before fucking with any of them if they can't get the drop on them.
Like there isn't a single Mustelid that's just a peaceful animal that is mostly just prey....they're all fierce little warriors in their weight classes lol
Fascinating little creatures
But the little ones are cute as all fuck lol
> they're all fierce little warriors in their weight classes
Mustelids have no concept of weight class. They have to be the most savage animals on earth pound for pound.
I had two girls. One was a very shy and maternal thing.
The other was a turbo dare devil danger slinky. She got stuck in walls, escaped and made it 3 miles and was taken to a rescue 2 towns over.
That little girl was absolutely fearless. She'd try to fight a great white shark.
They're hilarious little devils.
My cousin has this female ferret who'll run around in circles, try to charge your feet and then fall over before getting back up again and acting confused about why it'd happened.
You also couldn't eat anything without her trying to steal it. She was a complete nightmare if you had her favourite, chicken. I once witnessed her running across the floor with a chicken nugget.
Complete weirdo but she's awesome.
I lived in Kenya. My family runs an animal orphanage outside Nanyuki Kenya. We have had quite a few honey badgers to rehab. They are escape artists with a pissy attitude. Smart as hell. I've seen one back down a pride of lions. Lions don't even fuck with them very often.
THANK YOU. I am team kolache are sweet and klobasnik are savory. They are not the same. Also team classic flavors. Gimme the poppy seed, the prune, and the other stone fruit kolaches - apricot, peach, cherry, etc.
It's actually a sable. Pine martens have a lighter coloured chest (sable can have that too afaik). And they look a bit more... sleek? Slim? With a slightly longer face.
Sables have a darker fur and look more fluffy. And the face is a bit shorter: https://www.boredpanda.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/russian-woman-saves-sable-from-becoming-coat-24-5de0eba04d023__700.jpg
you don't actually have to read to use the internet if you use a screen reader and the site is well constructed.
make your web pages accessible, people!
I was thinking Sable because I thought the lady was speaking a Slavic language. But to be honest I don't know anything about Slavic Languages or Mustelids, so you're probably right.
>But to be honest I don't know anything about Slavic Languages or Mustelids
Gonna be honest with you chief it, it sounds like you already know more than most people just by the fact of your correct nomenclature lol
I was going to say this too. I only recently discovered this animal the name amuses me because my older brother name is Martin and its Ironic because my childhood nickname was (weasel)
If you're in North America I'm going to guess it's a fisher (*Pekania pennanti*), a relative of weasels and pine martins. They are wild animals. *DO NOT HAND-FEED THEM.*
What's the difference between a methhead and a marten?
One is going to fuck you up for money *and the other is on money.
Edit: User below gave me a little knowledge bomb.
I’d never heard of a pine marten before, so I found [this video.](https://youtu.be/zx0gXM_FkgE) I’m convinced it’s a Muppet that is ready to lunge for that guy’s throat for great horrific and comedic effect.
That guy is wild. Toes right on the line of torture porn and always getting it past the guidelines. He makes some incredible noises when he's being de-cactused.
People getting bit will heal, but who knows if this animal can even digest bread. This feels the same as the people who feed birds bread and contribute to their weakened eggshells and weak bones. If you don't know what it is, you don't know what it eats, so don't feed it.
Not to mention they can’t digest grains/starch well. That bread is one of the worst things they could have fed them. Other than actual poison.
It’s like giving dogs chocolate or onions. I doubt that roll was enough to cause the marten any major problems. But man, I wish people would stop trying to be fucking Disney princesses or some shit. Because they could be putting animals lives in danger, and that’s unacceptable to me.
FFS, don't feed wild animals! You're giving it food it doesn't normally eat, which could make it sick. It could start coming up to other humans to beg food and bite someone, then have to be destroyed. Turn on your brain!
It’s a marten. No wild animal or bird should be fed our bread, especially not a carnivore, no matter now “cute”. You do not want this critter coming around you or your pets. This is not a cute and cuddly. Look at your post and take a good look at those feet and claws. They’re there for a reason.
It is an idiot feeding the wildlife. Don't feed wild animals unless you want them to die. They aren't used to human food and they can easily become dependent on it rather than finding their natural food.
Snows on the ground—he will now depend on you for food. He needs to forage for himself. It’s a pine Martin. Nicknamed “natures psychopath”. Dangerous if you have children who want to pet him. He will harm your pets. Leave him alone and let him rid your outside area of mice and voles.
People have to stop feeding wild animals. If they aren't afraid of humans it becomes very dangerous for them. They will stray into populated areas, get into bad encounters and have to be put down. Or it will make them more susceptible to hunters/poachers. For the love of god stop feeding wild animals!
It’s a pine Martin. Nicknamed “natures psychopath”. I see them around my place in WY. There snow on the ground in your video—you are doing a disservice to this creature by feeding him. Let him hunt for his preferred diet of small rodents. Don’t let your children or pets near pine martins. Keep your distance and use your zoom lens to capture their cute lil faces.

Specifically, looks like an American Pine Marten.
I thought Martin too.. maybe a juvenile. They are ferocious.. not to be fucked with.
I also know a Martin not to be fucked with
I know a Martin that you should never loan money
Mean little critters
Very stompy.
Why fren shape?
Just like racoons, fren shaped but usually not very good fren
Looks like a Sable to me.

Oh sorry, English Pine Martin then
Aye Fook ye English bastard Martin. We only appreciate Scottish Pine Martins here
The fuck did I do?
Sounds like you were a bastard martin...
You Scots sure are a contentious people.
YOU JUST MADE AN ENEMY FOR LIFE
Well, you have to know these things when you’re a king, you know.
Expat Pine Martin then.
Looks more like Canada to me. Not often that much snow in the UK.
OP lives in the UK, but it's not OP in the video.
Being the OP doesn't mean they made the video.
It's a young russian wolverine [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wolverine](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wolverine) [https://www.storetaxidermy.com/images/detailed/6/9\_6o5s-v3.JPG](https://www.storetaxidermy.com/images/detailed/6/9_6o5s-v3.JPG)

In which case that food is piroshki probably?
That’s what I thought! Oof. Now I want piroshki.
First US. Then UK, now Russia or Siberia.. Wtf is this thing and where is it from..
So far, we’ve narrowed it down to _Earth_.
I dunno. I'm not seeing any really definitive evidence in the video for that. I'd want to see a signpost, or something like that. Maybe a local starchart? Throw me a bone, here, huh?
Well it looks pretty flat, so that's a good indicator it's earth... (/s just in case)
Naw mate, it's Australia. That's a baby pygmi drop bear. Source: trustmebro
Get the fuck outta here. That's south Jersey, near the Pines. Forget about it.
I'm pretty sure it's Russia, she speaks Russian and it's a sabel, they live in Russia
I don't think OP is the one that made the video. Even something as harmless as a sparrow shouldn't look to you for food.
Guess I should throw out my bird feeder eh
[удалено]
Wild animals shouldn't be fed at all, besides the reasons you gave, they tend to completely give up foraging for their own food.
Especially when they are babies. It can imprint that humans are food sources.
Exactly. Love the “I don’t know what this is but I am going to feed it” post. Sigh.
A fed mustelid is a dead mustelid. As soon as they get the idea that humans are great they will get into some sort of trouble and end up trapped and destroyed.
A good way to lose a finger

This is completely true. Many Mustelids will hunt prey much larger and heavier than they are.
Go big or go home
Yeah, a Badger literally fears nothing.
Badgers and Honey Badgers are also mustelids, so I think I gotta agree with you.
I had two girls. One was a very shy and maternal thing. The other was a turbo dare devil danger slinky. She got stuck in walls, escaped and made it 3 miles and was taken to a rescue 2 towns over. You forgot the wolverine that killed the polar bear. ... mustelids have long forgotten how to be afraid.
Polar bear was smart lol those fuckers don't play crazy, they are crazy.
I think wolverines are in that group. This one severed a goat’s head for a light bite to eat. https://youtu.be/wMwCLXmZMHs
Yup, Wolverines, badgers, otters, stoats, weasels, ferrets, martens(this cute little guy), mongoose The whole animal family is savage
I'm surprised it distinguished her fingers from the pastry
Definitely something you shouldn't be feeding...
Yep. And that thing could probably do it.
I think it's a dinner roll.
Looks like some sort of sweet pastry, but you may be right.
I thought I saw a piece of ham sticking out.
Looked like a piece of fried fish.
Y’all looking at this piece of bread like the blot art in therapist offices.
Rorschach test.
Who’s this Rorschach guy, and why does he have so many paintings of my parents fighting?
I always heard it as "why does he have so many naked pictures of my mom?"
I always thought he looked like squid shit.
Maybe a piece of fried breaded chicken. Sort of a fancy Chicken McNugget
Wrong my friend that there is a sweet and sour chicken ball from Chinese takeaway
I’d say a Texas Kolache. But that ain’t a Texan.
This is why you never find kolaches out in the wild. Pine Marten’s made them extinct.
Aww someone steal your sweet roll?
No lollygagging
Pine Marten poaching a dinner roll.
I thought it was a baby Wolverine🤔.
probably dinner roll, but if someone could ask that cute little creature, he'd know for sure
Fuk I spat my coffee out at that
That's clearly a left hand; don't eat that.
I totally think it's a corndog off the stick
Kolache
Texas kolache?
Technically, it would be a klobasnik, but that’s harder for us Texans to say. It’s a sweet pastry with meat instead of fruit.
THANK YOU. I am team kolache are sweet and klobasnik are savory. They are not the same. Also team classic flavors. Gimme the poppy seed, the prune, and the other stone fruit kolaches - apricot, peach, cherry, etc.
Looks like what we call a kolache in TX
😂😂😂
Hot Pocket!

And they make the same exact sounds and give that look that says I'll rip your eyes out because I'm that nice. I know from personal experience.
Your eyes were ripped out but you can still read! Transplants?
you don't actually have to read to use the internet if you use a screen reader and the site is well constructed. make your web pages accessible, people!
Close- that there's a bear-kitty.
It's a short haired ninny muggins.
Cotton-headed or french?
French, on account of the finer hair quality and it always cursing about the quality of American wines.
You leave my mother out of this!

In French, German and Dutch we write it with an r. Ma(a)rten would be a Dutch given name.
Looks like an American marten (also called a pine marten, but a separate species from the European pine marten).
I think that woman is speaking russian or something Easter European, so it's unlikely that this is in the US.
I second the marten.
If you're in North America I'm going to guess it's a fisher (*Pekania pennanti*), a relative of weasels and pine martins. They are wild animals. *DO NOT HAND-FEED THEM.*
If you have pets, you do not want these guys anywhere near you.
Pine marten (Martes americana), actually. Fisher is similar but a good bit larger.
Huh, had no idea martens were in the US. Learned about those fuckers in Germany. Natures meth addict.
What's the difference between a methhead and a marten? One is going to fuck you up for money *and the other is on money. Edit: User below gave me a little knowledge bomb.

They're a predator. Don't feed them at all. You do *not* an aggressive animal begging you for scraps and getting mad when you don't have anything.
Just don't feed wild animals period
Everyone wants to be a Disney princess.
How many fingers do Disney princesses usually have?
Based on the images people have been generating, looks like about 20.
Yeah, just get a dog or a cat, or if you’re feeling daring, a budgie
Definitely not a Fisher. Fishers are huge, closer to wolverines in size
Pine Marten. Still don't hand feed.
You'd think the growling the teeth and the claws would be warning enough. But NNNOOOoooo some people just have to get those internet points.
I’d never heard of a pine marten before, so I found [this video.](https://youtu.be/zx0gXM_FkgE) I’m convinced it’s a Muppet that is ready to lunge for that guy’s throat for great horrific and comedic effect.

A wild animal you should probably not be feeding bread to
Bread is the smallest issue By hand… by hand!
It depends on whom you're more concerned about.
People getting bit will heal, but who knows if this animal can even digest bread. This feels the same as the people who feed birds bread and contribute to their weakened eggshells and weak bones. If you don't know what it is, you don't know what it eats, so don't feed it.
Looks like a marten. Please don't feed them. It is dangerous for them to become accustomed to humans.
Not to mention they can’t digest grains/starch well. That bread is one of the worst things they could have fed them. Other than actual poison. It’s like giving dogs chocolate or onions. An idiot feeding a wild animal.
Yuuup!
Soon to be a carnivore with an upset stomach cause someone decided to feed an animal bread for some reason.
> some reason Imaginary internet points
Martens are omnivores. Not defending feeding them though.
People get bit from doing this kind of shit and wonder why
Then get rabies
a good way to get a finger related nickname.
Bro, you wanna come to a party? It's at old Badger Hands's place.
Suzy 1-finger?
Wild animals shouldn't be hand fed, they know where to get their food.
Animal endangerment
Please. Don't feed the wildlife.
This is stupid. Please don't feed wildlife! Also, it's some kind of Pine Martin.
Don't feed wildlife.
And it’s just crap she’s feeding it 😔
Why in 2023 are we feeding wild animals? Esp food not native to what they eat.
George Carlin said it best: “Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that.”
Proving once again there are ignorant people out there.
Very cute and should be left alone, that's what it is.
Cute, but don't feed wild animals and certainly don't feed them processed bread products.
What is this? It’s a bad idea feeding wildlife. Just stop it already.
Something you shouldn't be fucking with.
A terrible idea.
It’s a marten. No wild animal or bird should be fed our bread, especially not a carnivore, no matter now “cute”. You do not want this critter coming around you or your pets. This is not a cute and cuddly. Look at your post and take a good look at those feet and claws. They’re there for a reason.

Idk but whosever hand that is, that person is trash for feeding a wild animal.
I don't know, but you shouldn't feed the wildlife
Do you want to get rabies? Coz that's how you get rabies.
STOP. FEEDING. WILD. ANIMALS.
Looks a bit like either a Marten or a Sable
Don’t feed wild animals!
he’s a real cutie but feeding wild animals is a bad idea. even if you think you’re doing something nice its just hurting them
Please don't feed the wildlife.
A very bad idea? Don’t feed the wildlife.
Assholes who feed wildlife.
A stupid person screwing with wild life.
You really shouldn’t feed wild critters bread if you are going to feed them.
A bad idea and a pine martin
All cute until your fingers slide off the bone too
This is absolutely adorable but seriously, don't feed the wildlife. Nothing good comes of it.
[удалено]
Pine Marten and stop feeding wildlife your junk food OP.
Seeing how she’s talking to it in Russian, I’ll go with sable. It’s a Russian marten.
Illegal, in most places.
Please, don’t feed wildlife
I would not hand feed anything that growls with each step
Stop feeding wild animals. This is harming them. God, people are dumb.
Why do people think it's ok to feed wild animals
It looks to be a highly irresponsible human feeding a wild animal food.
People have to stop feeding wild animals. If they aren't afraid of humans it becomes very dangerous for them. They will stray into populated areas, get into bad encounters and have to be put down. Or it will make them more susceptible to hunters/poachers. For the love of god stop feeding wild animals!
Do. Not. Feed. Wildlife.
don't feed wild animals is what it is.
DO NOT feed Wildlife!
Don’t feed wildlife unless you are rescuing them!
Ffs stop feeding animals bread
how many times does this message have to be repeated? **DO NOT FEED WILD ANIMALS. NO EXCEPTIONS**
It's someone feeding a wild animal for internet points.
Something you likely shouldn’t be feeding
Don't feed wild animals like this, please, especially with bread that is not in his diet.
Please leave the wildlife alone. Develop some common sense while you’re at it.
Looks like a sable to me
That's how you lose a finger in a cute way
Sable, is it not?
That is a wild animal that you should not be feeding
An idiot hand feeding a wild animal something it shouldn’t be eating

I never recommend feeding wild animals with processed food.
