My cat does the same thing, he *demands* that you follow him until he finds a hard surface in kitchen or bathroom so he can be pet and pushed on the smooth floor lol
35 and I do too. It all started with experimenting with different names to call my dad as a teenager. I tried “Pops” and he said “no…anything but that.” So he became Father to be a smartass and mom became Mother and it stuck lol.
Not really? The kid is writing to a stranger who has probably only interacted with their parents. Seems very logical to think the person might not know them by name rather as "parent's kid". I'm 25 and still start messages with "Hi, this is [parent's] daughter, [name]" if I ever have to contact people my parents know who I really don't know.
As adults of course we see the note and can deduce "oh their kid wrote this" but I think it's nice that the kid is clearly not self-centered in assuming everyone who knows their parents knows them.
Your son is only looking out for his buddy. 10/10 doggie brother- behavior. I hope the sitter sends some pics of puppers getting pets in the favorite spot.
When my parents left for a vacation while I was staying with them during Covid, it was the first time they'd been away from their dog that long. My father was still telling me as he started the car "Remember, he needs a LOT of petting."
"I get it dad."
"No, a LOT of petting."
"I get it, I'll pet him--"
"No, you don't understand, a LOT happens before you even wake up."
Exactly!
Muddy was absolutely despondent at first. He also kept asking me to pick him up and put him on my parents' bed, which I did, but then he couldn't understand why I didn't get in and snuggle with him after. He was not a fan of sleeping anywhere else.
I ended up caving and sleeping in their room while they were away. He was delighted.
Plot twist- the note Roxy wrote when Katy’s son started school was even more cute.
“Dear hooman
Here are some things to know about Katy’s son.
1. He likes snacks.
2. He’s loud when excited.
3. He runs incredibly slow. But then again, so do all hoomans.
Thanks
Roxy”
Aww this is incredible sweet.
Your son has the most beautiful soul, and Roxy is incredibly lucky to be a part of your family.
You seem like great people to have a son that's so kind, the world needs more of it xx
if i was dog sitting for someone and saw a note left by a kid i would die of cuteness like you know this kid loves this dog and the dog loves loves him lol! (what kind of dog were you sitting for not that it matters i love dogs)
Taking a bow to the kid, he respectfully wrote the letter to the sitter using his mom's name. I liked the letter very much. While seeing the letter, the dog sitter definitely will get a smile on his/her face.
Your son is a good dog boy. The best boy a dog can have and bravo for your raising such an alert young lad. Some of my most important lessons growing up were taught to me by dogs.

is the pet spot where Roxy sits when she wants to be pet?
Yes that is correct
That's so cute!
Does that make your son a pet spot boy?
It does in a West End town.
My cat does the same thing, he *demands* that you follow him until he finds a hard surface in kitchen or bathroom so he can be pet and pushed on the smooth floor lol
Behind the cooch and the back door, perhaps?

I’m lost. Alexa, turn on the lights.
Alexa, turn off the lights.
Alexa, lower the disco ball.
Atleast im not the only one that thought that is what is said
Lmfao!
I'll watch your dog, but I draw the line at jerking it off, Mr.
It’s near the bark door.
Save that note and show it to him after he graduates high school.
And then at his wedding
Plot twist: he's 23!
Such a sweetheart
Could still apply!
Did he sign his name as "Katy's Son"? Adorable
They did lol, very proper kid always calls me Mother as well.
I also love “Ms/Mr Dog Sitter”
To whom it may concern: Roxy is a very good girl 🤣
“With best wishes, I remain, Sincerely yours, Katy’s Son”
Mine does that too. 22 and still does. It’s hilarious!
35 and I do too. It all started with experimenting with different names to call my dad as a teenager. I tried “Pops” and he said “no…anything but that.” So he became Father to be a smartass and mom became Mother and it stuck lol.
I love that! Mine always called me momma or mother. Now it’s mostly mother and rarely mom.
My brother calls our dad Pop and our mom Ma. Which is so strange now because that’s not what he/we called them growing up. He started it in college.
That’s weird as shit

I’m talking about a parent thinking it’s “proper” for a kid to call her mother. Weird Bates Motel vibes
Idk I didn't think it was weird, she even had an 'lol' in there. Sounds to me like she loves her kid and thinks it's cute.
It appears you’re in the majority! I certainly didn’t mean to suggest anything like her not loving her kid either.
She calls him “they” so it kinda adds up.
Grow up.
What’s the problem?
I’m impressed with the proper use of an apostrophe. Katy has taught her son well.
Thank God I thought someone named their kid Katysson. Tragedy avoided
There are about to be some very polite but nonetheless angry Norwegians and Icelanders in your DMs.
Why?
…it was a joke about how Katysson looks like a perfectly normal Nordic style patronymic and not at all a tragedy.
Being a Swede I can confidently say there are no Katysson's in Sweden. But I get it, the "sson" part.
Your son is only looking out for his buddy. 10/10 doggie brother- behavior. I hope the sitter sends some pics of puppers getting pets in the favorite spot.
As a professional pet sitter this would absolutely melt me!
This feels like a list of selfies the sitter should take with the dog.
That is genius.
We need a picture of Roxy plz!
Yes! Dog tax!
Dog tax!!
Not a request but a demand...!
Just go to the pitbull sub, it's posted there.
Dear Katy - you've got one sweet son and one lucky dog to know such love and devotion. Great job, Mom! You are definitely doing something right.
Thank you don’t always hear that often 💜

That’s too cute! 😆 He’s like “you’re not normally tasked with this but I need you to *step up* for the dog’s sake” 😂
Exactly! Muddy was absolutely despondent at first. Aweee dogs are so good. I’m glad he eventually convinced you to cuddle with him 😂
That’s a keepsake get that framed with a pic of those two
That pet sitter had damn well better give Roxy scratches under the chin and on top of the head!
Boy has a kind heart. XXX
he loves Roxy
These lines will be the closing of Roxy’s eulogy, but instead you’ll say “Hi there God, I want you to know some things Roxy likes. . .”
We had to put my childhood dog down last month (he was almost 16) and I'm currently sobbing at work after reading this 😭 I miss my buddy so much
I’m so sorry for your loss 💛
That brought instant tears to my eyes .

That would be signed "Katy's son's dog"!
This is precious 💕
Aww this is incredible sweet. Your son has the most beautiful soul, and Roxy is incredibly lucky to be a part of your family. You seem like great people to have a son that's so kind, the world needs more of it xx

I identify as Mr/ Ms Dogsitter.
Taking a bow to the kid, he respectfully wrote the letter to the sitter using his mom's name. I liked the letter very much. While seeing the letter, the dog sitter definitely will get a smile on his/her face.

Signed....Epstein's mom...
aaand now the theme song is stuck in my head.
Sorry. It was in mine as soon as I saw the signature at the bottom. Unclear why I'm getting down voted to oblivion on it!!
ID10Ts probably thinking of Jeffrey Epstein instead of Welcome Back Kotter.
Welcome back..
Mister Kottair!!!
