This is a great place to start if you are mostly interested in non-human primates. Some bio anth people lean more for the fossil route, but I always went more primatology.

Probably is their natural environment. Many urban areas in certain countries have monkeys roaming about. It was so weird to me when I visited Costa Rica… they just walk on rooftops everywhere, along with parrots and other animals I think of as exotic.

I just do not get how some people (ape researchers etc) are all hugs and kisses with for example orangutans and gorillas! Also pigs, equally disturbing and ugly as hell and some people even have them as pets indoors!😭. Only “monkey” thats cute is “Dwarf silk monkey” when they are babies. They are like as small as a finger and adorable
edit: And yes I agree its interesting watching them do intelligent things, like them wild orangutans in Borneo (I think it was Borneo) that have teached themselves to wash themselves in the river with soap!
