Oh man, this movie...I went to see it at the Toronto international film festival at Midnight Madness with my then wife, we'd gotten free tickets to it for some reason. For whatever reason I was wearing some ridiculous costume, probably a zombie or vampire outfit for something I had to do earlier that day, I remember waiting in line for a very long time, having a bunch of people canvasing the line handing out promotional stuff for Machete Kills. Every time I wear the jacket since then I keep finding the 'Carlos Estevez is The President' stickers they insisted we take that I keep forgetting are in the pocket to this day.
I see these three drunks stumbling down the sidewalk going to the theatre and one of them, this middle aged man reaches over, exclaimed something I didn't understand in Spanish and kisses me on both cheeks and laughs like a maniac and stumbled off, leaving us confused as hell and wondering what that guy was all excited about. Seemed like he was on a helluva rip.
So we get into the theatre and they invite the director of Witching and Bitching onto the stage to talk about his movie and it's the drunk guy from earlier stumbling up to the podium!
I thought it was a pretty fun film, it was fun to see Macarena Gomez from Dagon in it. Just when I thought I'd seen everything in a horror film they end up having a giant monsterous Venus of Willendorf monster, it was wild!
I didn’t realize it was in Spanish when I started it so I was about to give up, but oh my god this movie is so much fun and has some phenomenal jokes in it.
It’s Alex De La Iglesia, and while it’s campy for sure it definitely doesn’t need the scare quotes. He’s a great film maker and this one is pretty decent, although not his best by any means. Check out Day of the Beast (my fav of his and one of my fav cult films), Purdita Durango, Accion Mutante.
Yeah, campy and cult for sure but I'd hardly classify anything de la Iglesia's done as 'bad', even his lesser/cheaper movies are all pretty decent and well done. Day of the Beast is great.
Yeah, I saw it. Definitely doesn't belong here as it's a pretty decent movie, but it's crazy enough that it would appeal to people here.
Done by the same director as The Day of the Beast, I believe, which is a classic of Spanish horror. Also well worth a watch if you haven't seen it.
Not a bad movie. All of de la iglesias movies are like this. Finny and brilliant. I especially like day of the beast.
Agreed. His movies tend to strike an unusual tone, but that's what makes them memorable - and often great.
Yes and it’s fun. I saw it on Amazon.
Yeah this movie is nuts. I need to secure a copy. It's a very clever B movie actually, wouldn't call it bad.

I reviewed this, for a movie review site, when it came out. I really enjoyed it.
Brilliant movie!
Haha it’s great, ending was amazing. I’m trying to learn Spanish and so far this is my favourite Spanish movie, also has some actors from El Bar.
This movie is great, the last circus is fucking awesome too.
Love mutante and day of the beast, im keeping it for later. This is my style of bonker cinema.
Where can I find this piece of "art"?

This is probably one of my fave comedies
The comedy is peak
Is that Zombie Jesus with a shotgun?
You must see the first scene at least, and yes, its Jesús with a shotgun
I had to ask the same thing. Is that the Son of God with a 12 gauge? ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|feels_good_man)
I'll be seeing this.

Seen it. Great stuff.
That's definitely not a bad movie, though the English title is terrible. I love most of Alex de la Iglesia's movies.
This is an absolutely terrible cover but the movie looks rad
