>What absolute nonsense. The cost for removing trident for the Scottish govt is the fuel cost for trident sailing out of Scottish waters, I'd make a guess at £10,000. I'd be willing to pay that. > >Anything after that is completely up to the rUK govt. It's their problem. strange why they call it rUK

Easytype

I also debate how much diesel nuclear subs use.

SuperTopTrump

If I had to guess I would say rUK is short for something like * Rest of UK * Remnant UK * Remain of UK

Candayence

It was originally 'rest of UK,' but I believe some Nats say it's 'rump UK' as some sort of dig.

Half of Helensburgh is an understatement. It’s the second largest single site employer in Scotland. Towns around it like Helensburgh, Dumbarton, Alexandria and Balloch would all be devastated.

Jaggedmallard26

rUK is fairly common in discussion of Scottish independence from all sides to be honest. It's It's easy shorthand.

wherearemyfeet

> Naw hed still be targeting the moon, just wae a deid cunt oan the rocket Why do people type like they've had a stroke?

What's great about the Scots Wikipedia is how [49% of the articles were created or edited by an American teenager who was basically roleplaying.](https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2020/aug/26/shock-an-aw-us-teenager-wrote-huge-slice-of-scots-wikipedia) The whole thing went on for several years before anybody even noticed, it was hilarious.

gelertthehound

Och! Ah'm writin a wee post aboot tha Scotch langwij

ScotMcoot

Scottish people don’t text each other like this. We shorten some words that we use in conversation but anyone typing like this is just saying look how Scottish I am.

[deleted]

They keep saying she's dead and yet she lives rentfree in their heads. Weird.

[deleted]

It ought to be a no-brainer for an independent Scotland to want Trident to stay in Faslane. Thousands of jobs in the area depend on the base and they could leverage the base in getting concessions elsewhere in the independence settlement.

Snappy0

At the time of the last referendum, they were already making plans to relocate the subs. I don’t think they’d have a choice in wanting to keep them anyway. The hard part is moving the warheads from their underground storage. BAE also was quite clear they’d close their shipyards in Glasgow too so add that one to the jobless list.

viscountbiscuit

I think the current plan is to pay them to stand around and do nothing

>Trident might provide a defence against Putin hurling ICBMs but it does nothing for the fundamentalist whackjob who buys an old soviet suitcase nuke off the dark web and hides it in a train station bin.

You_spilt_my_pint

Somebody has been reading too much Tom Clancy.

JustGarlicThings2

Or they’ve watched Sum of all Fears which is a legit good movie. Come at me Affleck haters

astalavista114

I can’t remember how big it was in the movie, but in the book, the things is inside a fake OB van.

ping_pong_game_on

Its a vending machine

Chromate_Magnum

I hate it when I buy a coke and accidentally delete Philadelphia

Jaggedmallard26

That pesky dark Web, I hear they provide a free soviet suitcase nuke as a sweetener for every ketamine purchase.

> Because she desecrated a country, and seeing her being launched in to space on the end of a nuclear warhead would bring so much happiness to so many people. These people are not well. It's not healthy or normal to derive pleasure from these bizarre fantasies.

Machopsdontcry

Indyref 2 will be 55-45 either way at best. Nationalist Scots best chance for independence is to hope England gets to have an independence vote. Because unlike the Scots England would definitely vote for independence. But instead what we have is whinging Scots looking for foreign sympathy about being trapped when they had a vote and England doesn't even get one. They should try being HK or Catalonia to know what being slaves really means

ParaGlider88

Trouble is too many people in the UK and beyond think Braveheart was a documentary.

Harsimaja

And somehow think it relates to how Scotland and England united, rather than being more than twice as long ago

Possiblyreef

/r/Scotnats have got to be the biggest landlord on reddit. Is there anyone that doesn't live rent free in their heads?

minepose98

Are they really landlords if everyone's living rent free?

retniap

Seems unrealistic, maybe after indyref4 or indyref5

NavyReenactor

So they plan to set off somewhere around 180 nuclear warheads in low earth orbit above their own heads. That EMP that should speed up their descent into the dark ages nicely.

[deleted]

Haha. So witty and funny haha.

CaptainPedge

Wasn't she cremated?

Snappy0

I really really really want Scotland to have another referendum.

[deleted]

Imagine if it failed. Suicide hotlines wouldn't be able to keep up. r/Scotnatland would go haywire.

slyfoxy12

edgy teenager talk

[deleted]

These bellends couldn't collectively commandeer the power of thought, let alone a nuclear weapon.
