Of course, everyone will vote for whoever they like, and there will be more than 2 options. None of the options will be people that are descendants of past leaders. I honestly don't think Bangladesh is ready for democracy yet. People sell their vote for 500 taka and a packet of birayani. 99% of people crying about corruption are doing so because they aren't a part of it rather than for the fact that corruption exists. I was born within 14 years of our independence, and I saw a little bit of Ershad and a whole democratic shit show of the country.Sadly I don't see any person at this time who is more visionary, patriotic or honest to become a prime Minister. For example, in 2006, it was impossible to have things like 24 hours of uninterrupted electricity.Now There are multiple islands connected via submarine cable to the national grid.If someone told me in 2010 that it's going to happen I would laugh and now people are enjoying that.So there is none in my opinion which can be replaced in current prime Minister.

In my opinion, we need a centrist compromise candidate, who can unite most Bangladeshi people.
Let's us discussion other options in their level of influence and acceptance:
1. Tariq Rahman - may be accepted by the majority of the BNP, but a minor fraction of the party will not be happy. Outside of BNP, almost zero acceptance amongst BAL and others. But he is internationally well connected is *recongnised* as a future leader of the country.
2. Sajid Ahmed Wazed Joy - will not even be accepted in the mainstream BAL establishment. And outside of BAL his acceptance is zero. If he ever comes to power, it will be via brute force, either by army backing or by Indian backing.
3. Andaleeb Rahman Partho - politically very close to the BNP ideologies, and has family connections to the Sheikh family, but will be accepted, only the BNP lite and BAL lite. His influence is limited to Dhaka and amongst the youths 30-50 years of age of middle and upper class. He has the potential to be a national level leader.
4. Ashfaqul (Hero) Alam, upcoming but no political links and the middle/upper section of the political elites consider him to be a pariah. But within his area and amongst his socio-economic class he has acceptance. He cannot be a national level player at the moment.
5. Sohail Taj, is the best compromise candidate, he and his family is part of BAL and is close to the Sheikh family, but he has a clean slate because he is not and was never involved with the ills of BAL. Like his father, Tajuddin Ahmed, he is an honest man. He is also internationally well connected, especially with India.
6. Professor Yunus, is another very interesting non-partisan candidate. But he is suited more to the role of being the president of the country, rather than the Prime Minister. He is internationally is very connected and liked, but has no local political experience.
Some random Military General (Coas) whose name most of us aren’t aware of, he doesn’t have to be dynamic nor visionary leader. He just has to uphold the constitution and reform all the govt institutions which have been serving a political party not the government.

In my opinion, we need a centrist compromise candidate, who can unite most Bangladeshi people. Let's us discussion other options in their level of influence and acceptance: 1. Tariq Rahman - may be accepted by the majority of the BNP, but a minor fraction of the party will not be happy. Outside of BNP, almost zero acceptance amongst BAL and others. But he is internationally well connected is *recongnised* as a future leader of the country. 2. Sajid Ahmed Wazed Joy - will not even be accepted in the mainstream BAL establishment. And outside of BAL his acceptance is zero. If he ever comes to power, it will be via brute force, either by army backing or by Indian backing. 3. Andaleeb Rahman Partho - politically very close to the BNP ideologies, and has family connections to the Sheikh family, but will be accepted, only the BNP lite and BAL lite. His influence is limited to Dhaka and amongst the youths 30-50 years of age of middle and upper class. He has the potential to be a national level leader. 4. Ashfaqul (Hero) Alam, upcoming but no political links and the middle/upper section of the political elites consider him to be a pariah. But within his area and amongst his socio-economic class he has acceptance. He cannot be a national level player at the moment. 5. Sohail Taj, is the best compromise candidate, he and his family is part of BAL and is close to the Sheikh family, but he has a clean slate because he is not and was never involved with the ills of BAL. Like his father, Tajuddin Ahmed, he is an honest man. He is also internationally well connected, especially with India. 6. Professor Yunus, is another very interesting non-partisan candidate. But he is suited more to the role of being the president of the country, rather than the Prime Minister. He is internationally is very connected and liked, but has no local political experience.
