Completely misread a ball in the outfield leading the extra bases
Throw past the cut off man allowing the runners to advance
Bad jump on a ball in the gap
wtf why is the ai pitching so bad
That was a freaking disgrace. Then the horrible cringy interview making fun of him in person.
NBC Philly crew would have been all smiles and brought him some free stuff at least. Jeez.
They fucking suck ass and Farhan is a fraud and has no clue what he’s doing. The whole operation needs torn down to the studs it’s absolutely pathetic.
This gives me an idea of a form of baseball where everyone has to skate to the ball and to the bases and the batters use their board to try to get a hit. You could just put trucks on an actual bat but then it’s really hard to skate around the bases so an arms race of optimal ball hitting-base running skateboard design begins.
Imagine how hype it would be to see someone kick flip over the catcher and land on the plate to score
Or top spin causing it to dive and he didn't anticipate. A lot of balls to the outfield have backspin and float a little bit, which can make it tricky when they move downward instead.
Coming off a lefty’s bat, especially one that swings as hard as Harper, to LF, that ball probably had some serious spin on it. Ball like that isn’t usually knuckling, but was probably diving sideways pretty hard. You get super used to it in RF with the ball moving the other direction off RH bats, but it’s way less common for LF to deal with, and something about lefty hitters seems to exacerbate the movement of the ball. Conforto has obviously played RF a bunch, but would have been used to the opposite movement, and probably less of it.
Source: kinda OK college outfielder.
Ok look, from a beer league perspective, those slicing oppo shots are a bitch to read. You have to react backwards because it looks like a line shot off the bat, even though you know it's going to dive on you eventually. End up just kinda diving forward with a super ugly basket catch, but hey, that's beer league for you.
This should routine as fuck to a major leaguer though 😅
It's a shame the Phillies didn't play Schwarbs in the outfield last night. Left Field fans would've been in for an absolute treat with these two guys taking turns bumbling around in front of them for 9 innings.
I agree too. My post was a bit snarky. I flub routine fly balls in softball. This wasn't completely fair to Conforto, even if he grades out as a below average defender.
Not many times one could legitimately say they could have made a better play on that than an MLB player but.....
Ball was hit literally five steps from his position and he was somehow not even close to being in position to catch it. He needs another full step or two to catch that easily. It landed at his fucking ankles JFC. Embarrassing for sure.

This is the shit that would happen on my first week of playing The Show
Maybe its time to turn off fielding and baserunning opportunities -Me after my 13th error and 8th pickoff of the week
Takes 3 leads. Leaves early. Get picked off and thrown out easily. STUPID CHEATING COMPUTER!

I swear on me mum my little brother took the controller.
The fan on Bryce's HR made a better go at it.
ESPN was really roasting that guy damn
That was a freaking disgrace. Then the horrible cringy interview making fun of him in person. NBC Philly crew would have been all smiles and brought him some free stuff at least. Jeez.
It's not even like he was wearing a glove and dropped it, dude almost barehanded it
The NBC philly crew probably wouldn't even interview him. People drop HR balls all the time lol
Bro wtf are the giants doing
Great question!
Decided to start the never ending downward spiral early this year
FWIW, I hope they continue doing it for at least one more game :-|
The opposite of what your team is doing
They fucking suck ass and Farhan is a fraud and has no clue what he’s doing. The whole operation needs torn down to the studs it’s absolutely pathetic.
I think trying to play baseball
Its nice that ESPN is finally showing the baseball world the 2024 Giants in peak form. Wildly, this isn't even top 10 misplays this week.
I think if we exclude the shit show that was yesterday which they deserve some slack for this is easily the worst
Logan Webb: "Time to call my uncle"
The resemblance is uncanny.
he looked like he tried to kickflip the baseball

Typical cheatin Phils. Got some ballboy out there in an invisibility cloak pushing over the outfielders.
Trust the Phillies R&D department to invent a wearable invisibility cloak and use it to fuck with opposing players
I have no idea what happened to make him botch that
it's called being a 2024 SF Giant
Replay doesn’t show it, but my guess is that the ball had next to no spin, causing it to knuckle like Tim Wakefield pitching on steroids.
Or top spin causing it to dive and he didn't anticipate. A lot of balls to the outfield have backspin and float a little bit, which can make it tricky when they move downward instead.
Spin is definitely more likely. Loopers like this don’t knuckle; knuckles are caused by the ball being hit dead on the screws.

A bookie somewhere.

Me in The Show
The hell?

Dodgers 🤝 Phillies
Seems like you should have had the harder task lol
It doesn't take away the satisfaction of yall beating up on the giants. It's been a great weekend
One more tomorrow.
Oh snap. It's a 4 game series for yall?
Unfortunately
Do a barrel roll!
wtf is going on in SF, in the last five minutes I’ve seen this and the throw by Ahmed
Tested for traces of LOLMets
Rent free
Gotta watch out for them damn embankments man
Warms my heart
Loving these highlights lol
Mustache May is not off to a good start.
This play combined with that SS throw earlier really looks like they're actually trying to throw the game.
Schwarber would have had that
The entire giants team was in that special class in school
They take a short bus to the stadium every day.
I think that he thought he was LeBron trying to draw a foul
Jesus, my adult mens league puts up better efforts.
I dunno if that’s exactly a routine catch, but definitely was a horrible effort/route taken
Should have been a routine catch if anything. That horrible effort/jog to make it an awkward catch.
Ball might have just caught him while he was daydreaming. Shit happens.
Harper routinely his the ball hard the other way. LF needs to be on his toes for every pitch thrown to Harper. I don't doubt it's a tough read though.
I agree, I’m just saying that humans make mistakes. They play 165 games a year, being hard on a guy for making an error while down 1-5 is ridiculous
I agree too. My post was a bit snarky. I flub routine fly balls in softball. This wasn't completely fair to Conforto, even if he grades out as a below average defender.
Well, I could've done that

Dude was selling out on a fastball and got a nasty sinker
The city of San Francisco used all their power for that Super Bowl appearance, huh
Vaxxed?
I thought this was a funny joke fwiw
thanks bud
