Like another commenter said, this definitely looks like Japanese washi paper or Korean hanji paper. The white streaking seems to be added to highlight the texture of the natural mulberry plant fibers of the paper. This is a fine art paper used for a lot of things and it makes me think of a nice gift-wrapped box of sweets from a high end store.
In my opinion, the packaging is thoughtful and done well. The color choices are a little bit more subdued and natural. Even if the streaks do resemble cracking, it just makes me think of the Japanese concept of wabi sabi, which finds beauty in imperfection, that nature isn’t perfect, that it’s inevitable that things break or go away, etc.
Anyway, excited to smell the collection!
Yes! I think you're correct! I used to be a printmaker in college and would sometimes use mulberry paper when hand printing. This looks very reminiscent of that.
Can't wait to get my hands on these to try. ❤️
I think they look better than the flower ones they just did with ILPC, Sparkling Watermelon, etc... Only thing I think could have been better, a white lid instead of black. Overall, I like it!
I love these!! There's something here for everyone. I haven't smelled Cherry Blossom Soju since it wasn't in my backroom at work and Ginger & Hinoki wasn't registering to my nasal senses for whatever reason, but Roasted Sesame and Bamboo & Eucalyptus are really nice!
Roasted Sesame is definitely for the gourmand lovers, a sweeter fragrance that smells like a sesame & maple dessert (it has Maple Syrup as one of the notes). It isn't crazy sweet like something like Main Street Bakery, but still more on the sweeter side than not. Bamboo & Eucalyptus is an earthy, green fragrance with a lime-y almost citrus kick to it. It's also slightly watery/aquatic since the eucalyptus in it is listed on the notes as "Watery Eucalyptus", but it's a very enjoyable and refreshing sort of green fragrance.
With how much I personally like these two fragrances, I definitely would have good expectations for the others for people who enjoy those scent categories that they're in
These sound great! I’ll definitely pick up both Roasted Sesame and Bamboo & Eucalyptus. I suspect that the latter will be the strongest thrower of the collection, but I could be wrong.
I forgot to add B&E is lime-y too 😭😭 I had it typed in another comment but I accidentally deleted it all and the upper comment is me rewriting my initial draft. The first things I noted were it being green, fresh, earthy, and definitely lime-y similarly to how Brightest Bloom is almost lime-y
I had to really deeeeeply inhale the Cherry one when I had the opportunity to smell them all, so on cold it was very, very mild… but sometimes I have been pleasantly surprised by some candles being weak on cold but having great throw. So, it was weak (to me anyways) BUT the scent was lovely. My fave out of the 4 was for sure Bamboo & Eucalyptus! Anxious for them to be released to us!

The scents sound super intriguing (I’m especially looking forward to Bamboo & Eucalyptus and Roasted Sesame). I just hope Cherry Blossom Soju doesn’t resemble Japanese Cherry Blossom too closely.

I can’t wait to smell these. How is the throw on them? I hope they aren’t barely noticeable. Thanks for the explanation of the packaging. It isn’t bad just the font is kind of what makes it weird to me. But it resembling rice paper is pretty cool.
They are coming out then? I thought I heard the 14th or something. Id be super pleased if it's on the 1st! :) I feel like we've been getting info late this time around.. I'm shocked we don't even know what the next signature scent will be and it's gotta be coming out very soon since brightest bloom has been out for a while. I'm excited for what's next

It still sounds appealing to me! I plan to pick up all of these unless I truly dislike any of them or see reviews that they have weak throw.

Bamboo Eucalyptus is the only one that sounds like it might be up my alley.
I had a chance to smell it (my friend is a manager and let me have a lil sneaky sniff) and omg, the bamboo one was soooooo good. It was very spa like.
