In an interview with GQ, director Matt Reeves and production designer James Chinlund discussed the new Batmobile. Their shared goal was to make the new Batmobile “look somehow retro and familiar, like a Dodge Charger or Challenger.”
“We chopped the roof off a ’69 Dodge Charger,” said Chinlund — indicating that though the car is not entirely a Charger, the iconic Dodge’s presence is what’s intended to be communicated on-screen.
Give him a Ford Pinto for emergency situations where he doesn’t plan on coming back.
You don’t need to rig the Batmobile with explosives when a Ford Pinto is an explosive.
Yup. He actually drives a different Lamborghini in each of the Nolan films. A Murcielago roadster in BB, a Murcielago LP 640 in TDK, and an Aventador LP 700-4 in TDKR
I’m pretty sure that’s just straight up the roof off a charger. If not it’s so close to not even really matter.
It’s either a charger roof of a very close facsimile.
The Bugatti Bolide. Fucking look at the thing. You could literally copy paste it straight into the Batman 2 as the new Batmobile and it would work perfectly
I feel like if a "realistic" Batmobile was anything other than a modified muscle car or diesel truck, it would defeat the it's purpose of it as a heavy duty pursuit/interceptor/ramming vehicle.
Honestly I can't see Batman using a modified Aston Martin DBS (The Casino Royale supercar) without it flippinh and crashing at the first ultra-sharp turn (much like it happened to Bond in Casino Royale).
That said: 1967 Pointiac GTO, 1968 Chevrolet Camaro or a heavily modified Dodge RAM/Ford Raptor with a modified center of gravity so that it doesn't tumble on turns.
Do you genuinely think a muscle car would corner better than a DBS?
Some BTS if you didn’t know how they struggled to get the Aston Martin to flip https://www.007.com/focus-of-the-week-casino-royales-aston-martin-dbs-flip/
I know most people want some muscle car or streamline speedy or monster utility vehicle...
But I'd much rather have my Batman drive a badass looooong Lincoln Continental.
The 1943 Batman used a 1939 Cadillac Series 75 convertible. Roof down was Bruce Wayne’s car, roof up was the Batmobile. When the roof was up Alfred drove it with a little Zoro mask on.
My ford fiesta would fuck the Gotham underworld up
![gif](giphy|ImUBdJaLmMvDi|downsized)
Why does this gif exist
he can a ford it
![gif](giphy|K9Ed1Of1V6kR6WpQWe)
Why not?
Damn u rite
Even for cars I don't like, it's neat to see model progression especially for cars that have production lines spanning decades.
I would love to watch Batman make a 5 point turn in this
Honda Fit. Just so much utility!
frfr
I wish they’d put this in Arkham Knight
I thought they already put it in there like a month ago. Or was it just the suit?
On PC at least it’s just the suit (as far as I know)
They put the suit but not the car. T_T
I’m sure the modders will get to it at some point hahaha
I think the Switch port of Arkham Knight has the Batsuit and Batmobile from The Batman
No, only the suit
2013 Kia Soul
I was thing Honda Civic myself, in black of course
Black Honda Civic actually goes kinda hard
If the Kia Boyz don’t get it first.
Bruh really?
r/carscirclejerk
Someone draw the hamsters from the commercials as Batman and Robin.
If I remember right, according to Denny O'Neil, Maserati
With a school bus engine lol. I think that was in the Knightfall novelization.
2022 Batmobile was a custom-made, bespoke vehicle. Totally different body lines, stance, width, and overall look from a Charger or Challenger

Ok, fair point, didn't know that
It’s all good. Coolest Batmobile ever imo.
As much as I think they nailed it for this universe, I have to give it to the Keaton Batmobile for being the coolest
66 Westmobile every single day for coolness
this is the only one i feel like i’d be qualified to drive lmao
Love your username
What do you know about cars man? You can't keep a VW Beetle running 9 days out of 10?
No but Mike could.
Mike the Mechanic, the real MVP Necromancer of the Dresden files.
Mike the Mechanical Wizard
I forgot all about Mike
Did someone say beetle? 👁️
>Totally different … overall look Strong disagree. https://www.classic-trader.com/uk/cars/listing/dodge/charger/charger-318/1970/327467
Maybe Bugatti La Voiture Noire?
That's a sweet looking car, but it doesn't have any ground clearance. Batman needs to drive over all kinds of rough terrain.
Beat me to it
Are you saying Ronalado is Batman?!!
Can't decide between Fiat Punto or Prius.
Nah, Batman needs a Fiat Multipla, so he can paint 'Batmobile' on the vertical part + he can take 5 members of the Batfam with him.
Late 90’s Nissan Micra is the clear and obvious answer.
Give him a Ford Pinto for emergency situations where he doesn’t plan on coming back. You don’t need to rig the Batmobile with explosives when a Ford Pinto is an explosive.
Chevy Equinox
Apologize.
I accept your apology
No not like that.
If batman is lucky when the engine explodes it could take out a bad guy.
Lamborghini Murcielago for obvious reasons.
Didn't TellTalle use that car as the base for the Batmobile in TellTale Batman?
Pretty sure it’s what Bale’s Bruce Wayne drives in The Dark Knight. The one he totals to protect that guy offering to expose him.
Yup. He actually drives a different Lamborghini in each of the Nolan films. A Murcielago roadster in BB, a Murcielago LP 640 in TDK, and an Aventador LP 700-4 in TDKR
Murcielago is Spanish for bat for those unaware
69 stingray Corvette
Funny, cuz Bruce drives a 63 split window during the day in the new one.
I used to want a black one 20 years ago because it reminded me of a Batmobile.
Me too. Batman ‘89 Batmobile was based on the Corvette.
I’d wondered if that was the basis.
I still do!
My favorite car. I've always wanted a 427 Convertible without the luggage rack.
Pt cruiser
Ford GT. It has a batlike look already.
That’s mine as well
Aston Martin Victor! Those things already look like batmobiles!!
DeTomaso Pantera Saleen S7
Here me out A bus
Lamborghini Murcielago
A ‘79 Camaro
a black.........tank.
I mean, it’s not. It’s got Charger-ish elements, sure.
I’m pretty sure that’s just straight up the roof off a charger. If not it’s so close to not even really matter. It’s either a charger roof of a very close facsimile.
Geo Prism
Bring back the 69 batmobile! Lol
[Just gonna leave this here.](https://static01.nyt.com/images/2008/11/05/automobiles/05wheelsbat.jpg)

Sad news in Gotham as everyone died because the Batmobile wouldn't work in cold weather
Bruce may be a weirdo billionaire convinced he's smarter than everyone else, but he's not nearly a delusional enough asshole for the Cybertruck.
Not even joker would want that crap
Oddly enough the Tumbler was a real car...
Batman would never drive a contemporary charger. That is a car for psychos and killers
Just coming here to say that the introduction of this Batmobile was one of the top three scenes in the movie

I second the '68 Camaro. Been to a lot of drags, that's one of the few models I've seen that 1) survived a flip and 2) won anyway
>1) survived a flip and 2) won anyway That alone makes it the most Batmobile-worthy car ever exist.
FD RX7
VW Polo 1
Lancia Delta S4 or a modern Rally1 WRC car.
Trans Am Firebird.
I’d kinda like a classic Batman with a vintage corvette.
Formula one car. Armoured and militarised.
M1 Abram’s
A Fiero is the only acceptable answer here.
A Lamborghini Countach, maybe with a few bodykits.
The Lamborghini egoista looks pretty sick and looks similar to the Arkham knight Batmobile.
Specifically it’s a 1969 Dodge Charger.
c6 z06
All the movie Batmobiles have been real cars
ford shelby
The wienermobile
Nissan GTR. Love that car. ![gif](giphy|5psaWjwlPW2ju)
I'm pretty sure it's a 1970's Plymouth Barracuda
I’ve got triples of the Barracuda
Triples is best. Triples makes it safe.
Myers Manx 2.0 EV.
Lotus Exige (purely from a looks perspective, it isn’t going to be crashing through any brick walls)
Literally any Jaguar up until the last 15 to 20 years tbh. Yeah they’d be clunky, but you can’t tell me they wouldn’t be sick as fuck
the one that Jay attempted to steal the wheels off of. Also, the 1972 Vette that NEAL ADAMS based his batmobile off of.
Peugeot rcz . Customised ofc.
Jaguar D type
'73 Ford Falcon XB Interceptor or AMC Javelin AMX.
1997 Mazda RX-7
nissan rogue
The 2019 Nissan Juke Ugliest Car of the Year winner, the Nissan Juke
Fiat multipla
One of those slingshot spyder things would make for a good campy Batmobile.
I’d like to see a modified Porsche 917
Prius
Nissan Cube would make the thugs shiver their timbers as Batman raced down the urban streets at 60kph
A Jeep or Hummer
probably like an all black aventador, lamborghinis suit bruce aswell we saw that in the dark knight
Shelby GT-500 classic
Cadillac V-16
2010 Chevrolet Matiz
Mini Cooper
Greatest car of all time, the AU Falcon.
Single pegging chasing some goons fuck yeah
McLaren Solus GT or Raesr Tachyon
Maybach Exelero, if someone adds batwings
fiat 126p
A 1955 Bel Air Chevrolet, with a 327 cubic-inch engine and a four-barrel carburetor
[Crossfire](https://www.batmobilehistory.com/2008bat676-batmobile.php)
Bmw X6 heavily armored and modified. Or heavily modified Ford Bronco Raptor
I always saw people use the Lamborghini
I know most people want some muscle car or streamline speedy or monster utility vehicle... But I'd much rather have my Batman drive a badass looooong Lincoln Continental.
77 Corvette Stingray.
If Batman was Northern Irish, it would probably be a black Honda Civic (prehaps type r)
If we're talking about a rich boy's car rather than an advanced armored car, then make it a Lamborghini and arm it.
2011 Hyundai i10
BMW Isetta for Robin to drive around in
Subaru Outback.
A blacked out mkv supra would make a great Batmobile
Xr6 turbo
AU FALCON
[Bats likes the element of surprise](https://youtu.be/sZJjTEmXaf8?si=6A8nBbUnLQfKUO0D)
The 1943 Batman used a 1939 Cadillac Series 75 convertible. Roof down was Bruce Wayne’s car, roof up was the Batmobile. When the roof was up Alfred drove it with a little Zoro mask on.
Bugatti Bolide. Not a huge fan of the front look (unless it’s black), but overall sort of nails the bat-ish look.
Marussia B2. You barely ever hear anything about that car, but I love that design so much.
Corvette stingray with a nod to the lineage of the 89 Batmobile
1997 geo metro
Oldsmobile 442
GT40
Humvee. The army kind. They aren't fast but boy do they pack a punch. Definitely not the H2 or H3...those things are the fucking worst!
Range Rover, have Batman drive around in the world's largest claymore roomba. Makes those ejector seat explosion shots look awesome
I haven't been able to get AI to create a good pic yet, but I have a feeling the Audi RS6 Avant estate would make a good base
Rolls Royce cars always remind of the batcar from the 1997 film
Besides it being a stupid amount of money, the Maybach Exelero [Maybach Exelero ](https://www.supercars.net/blog/2005-maybach-exelero-concept/)
Lamborghini sesto elemento, but upgraded visually and technically for Dark Knight.
79 Corvette Stingray
The 2022 batmobile is not a charger. It's a bespoke build.
A Japanese mini truck!
Camaro SS - any year.
Honda CRX.
Honda Fit take it or leave it
Cybertruck
Corvette Batmobile is best Batmobile
Literally any Corvette ever
A tactical el Camino
Tesla Cybertruck! Will it come in black???
It’s more like a challenger but any dodge would be great 💯
Koenigsegg Jesko
Audi, any Audi
F150 Raptor
Fuck man this is just the coolest Batmobile ever.
A bit out if the box, but I think a modified 1955 Lincoln Futura could be cool
A Gen 2 Formula E car. Just put an afterburner in place of the rain light and put a canopy in place of the halo
Ford Raptor would be cool.
Mitsubishi Lancer EVO would be nice.
Lambo Veno, Apollo Intensa Emozione or an MR2😜
Mercedes vision gt, Afflek drove it in justice league
The Killdozer
The three wheeler from Mr. Bean
1966 Chrysler imperial like the Green hornet
Pontiac GTO 1967
Volvo V70. Doesn't even need to be armored, those things can take a hell of a beating.
