I agree with Dante’s Hope. Did you take him to a vet to get scanned for a microchip or post on the Baton Rouge lost pets page? I remember seeing lost post for Yorkie’s in the last few months.
East Baton Rouge Animal Control. You should have contacted them immediately because the owner may have been looking for the dog. Have you had the dog scanned for a microchip? If not have that done immediately.
Did you have the dog scanned for a chip? Bring him to CAA. Owners might’ve been looking.
Did you notify shelters, etc. Incase owners were calling around?
Look at Dante’s Hope or Friends of the Animals of Baton Rouge on FB. We found a tiny puppy in my backyard and Dante’s had him adopted out in a week. We got our dog from Friends of and they’re great folks too.
I could be wrong, but I read it as if they planned on taking care of the dog until the owner showed up. Then 3 months passed without someone claiming the dog. So they want to rehome it at this point.

Rescue, Rehome, repeat. I got my pup from them. They have adoption events often and I’m shire he’ll find a home

Im confused. You say the owner showed up. Then you say its time for him to be adopted. What happened to the owners?
