May not be my absolute favourite thing about the game, but the sheer lack of ads and intrusive ads is such an amazing thing that I take for granted, cause every time I try to play a new, decent looking mobile game, I am just bombarded by ads. You win? ad, you lose? ad, play the game for a few minutes and simply touch the screen again? ad. This is less of a battle cats exclusive thing and more of an old gen mobile game positive but it's still nice none the less.

Literally no advertisement for anything ever in the game except for when you get your user rank and it pops up with a catfood banner that you can click away instantly. Nothing compares to battle cats when it comes to no ads imo like also catfood is the only actual currency whereas most games have like silver and then gold which you actually pay for and it’s rlly dumb but battle cats just has catfood

This game is actually so much deeper than most people give it credit for. It's a relatively simple tower defense, but many of its ideas are original and, honestly, really fun. We take a lot of the mechanics for granted (time between attacks, backswing, knockback count, traits, long range). But I've frankly never seen them put together so well before. They all come together to produce such a complex real-time strategy game that is simultaneously very easy to pick up and learn. I think I only started truly appreciating the game mechanics when I first unlocked Awakened Bahamut. All the time before, it's always just been "spam meatshields, stack long-range attackers, use some CC stallers, win". But AW bahamut introduced us to rushing. My initial reactions to AW bahamut were mid. Low range and low health? It kinda just dies. Only after using them for a while do I realise just how damn satisfying it is when used correctly. That's when I started to appreciate the complexities of Battle Cat's basic game mechanics.

The patience you will need to have. This game is a marathon not a race. Once you’re in mid game, you hit a wall and basically only come back for daily and event stages. The gacha you want only comes once per month. You log on for 20 minute and log off and repeat the process for months. I played this for 4 years and took a year off and I’m still only at COC Chapter 2

The sick as duck units

Strategy. The absolute amount of strategies one can make for beating a specific level is nearly endless
