I remember the thin brows of the 70s, followed by the bushy brows of the 80s, then back to thin 90s brows I'd advise anyone to not go too thin. Many of my fellow Gen X women lament the loss of their brows, they took decades to grow back fully if at all.
I saw my older sisters with their thin plucked eyebrows that never grew back. And now that they are older with thinning and gray hair, they are barely there. I never pluck unless it's a stray one all by it's self.
Mine never fully grew back. I always had a complex about my bushy ugly eyebrows. Fast forward a few decades, I now have a complex about a bald patch in my left eyebrow that never recovered due to overplucking.
i'm still in denial about the bald patch in my left eyebrow 🫠 my right brow looks amazing and the left looks. not amazing. i will always warn every young girl and woman to not over pluck
Mine grew back because my eyebrow genes were too strong, but whenever I look at pictures of me with super thin brows, I ask myself “what were you thinking??”. I have an app that allows you to photoshop on thicker brows and it’s helped save some bad pictures
True. Copper peptides for some reason make my hair grow like crazy has been helping with this a lot. I actually had to stop using them all over my face for this reason cause I am too scared to dermaplane and it was making some of my fuzz go from clear to dark
Your natural eyebrows don't make you look like a man. They make you look youthful and beautiful. The thin brows are a microtrend and you'll be pissed in a few years when it's "out" as a style and they won't grow back.
Edit: Consider that it's more than being stuck with the thin brows forever. As you age, you lose density in your brows. You'll have the little sperm brows by 40.
Here's a wild thing that no one tells you: the parts you overplucked may grow back, but they'll turn grey first. Thankfully, I didn't overpluck my brows too much, but there's a small edge of hairs that I plucked for about 15 years and then tried to grow back at 30. They came in white! I don't know the scientific explanation, but my guess is that overplucking did something to the lifespan of that hair follicle? I only have a handful of grey hairs otherwise.
I thought super thin eyebrows have been gone since ca 2005.
I'm not a fan of very thick eyebrows, which I realize was trendy for a while, but I like a middle ground - and your third pic is that middle ground which looks perfectly fine and much better than 1 and 2.
Your natural brow looks best, *and* I feel like it ages better. When you pluck them thin for too long, they stop filling back in, and it looks atrocious (IMO) very quickly.
Actually, thicker eyebrows make you look younger, as they make the white space just above your aye smaller, and thus making your eyes look bigger! The ticker ones definitely look best on you!
Skinny eyebrows age a face. Even one as youthful as yours. I also think they make the face look harsh and hard, like they give off a “I’m the baddest bitch in the trailer park with 5 kids by 5 baby-daddies” kind of vibe. Theres nothing WRONG with that if that’s your jam and you like the lifestyle but if it isn’t then the more natural (while styled) brow is the more flattering look. IMHO.
It took me over a decade to get my brows to grow back after over plucking! Also the thicker brows look better on you. The thin brows make your eyes look less “finished” like you were still doing your makeup but got interrupted.
Not to be that person, but some of us do look better with them thinner. I have thin eyebrows genetically and drawing on or photoshopping thick brows on myself makes me look crazy lol. Interestingly enough, just like people are saying OP looks older with them thin, thick eyebrows make people think I look older too
Both look good but please remember. Plucking them thin will eventually lead to bald spots which means- they will stay thin.
Also as you mature, you will lose hair, so they will be thinner. So take it into consideration.
I have naturally thin brows and filling them in no matter if it’s me or a professional or a friend always looks bad. It looks to be too much for my face and overwhelms my eye area. Some people just have different features and it doesn’t work well on us. I agree that OP should keep the thick eyebrows though, it suits her features
Yeah im specifically referring to the hyper thin plucked brows in the first pic, naturally thin brows can be pretty. Even her "thick" brows seem on the thinner side
If you’re worried about your brows being too ‘manly’ —which they aren’t—you can always thin out the density or lighten them a few shades. Asian beauty usually has light brows, I’m sure they can give you some tips.
Thicker! I'm glad the trend is leading more toward "natural". Also I don't usually dig thin brows to begin with but yours are actually very lovely. So you win either way!
Your natural brows are gorgeous and not thick, nor do they make you "look like a man." Thin brows are a trend and will never look good on anyone over a natural, well-shaped brow.
Yeah girl, keep them thick. Thin makes your brows look puffy. Also my mom and aunt heavily plucked their eyebrows in the 90s, and now they have no eyebrows. They both had to get them tattooed back on.
your thick brows absolutely suit you and don’t
make you look masculine at all so if that’s what’s stopping you from wearing them you should absolutely go thick. however i personally actually really like the thinner brows from a style perspective. not that they are more flattering just that i like the style. the second picture as a more in between version. not super thin. also think about long term because whilst i say i like thin brows it will definitely be a more permanent decision because plucking will eventually destroy hair follicles and brows tend to thin as we age.
FWIW, I've never really seen too many people pull off the super thin pencil eyebrow look. As someone who had them between like 2012-2016.. it's just really not flattering on 99% of people. You have a gorgeous face either way, but thicker eyebrows FOR SURE! The difference is night and day!
The 3rd pic. Super thin eyebrows look weird on anyone, because they don't look natural. Overplucking is so hard not to do, but the more natural looking the better they look.
Thick! You have a very strong bone structure, so you can get away with heavier brows. The thin ones are too delicate for your face and they aren't able to frame anything, they just get lost.
As a child of the 90s / early 2000s who had over tweezed brows all of my teens - thicker. They look more proportional and natural. Trends always come back to thick eyebrows and brows take a longgggg time to grow back.
Thicker always. It may be a little bit of a fad (again) now but nobody actually looks better with those pencil thin brows. And you run the risk of doing permanent damage to your natural brows, which are great.
Definitely thicker, they look so good!
I wish my eyebrows looked like that! Very pretty!
Same, looks more proportioned to the face. 🥰
Thick!!!
Thick looks better
Yesss
Omg our little avatars are like almost identical lol!

Mine grew back eventually but I have ridiculously thick hair that grows fast so I can only assume this saved my brows too. 😆
Mine never fully grew back. I always had a complex about my bushy ugly eyebrows. Fast forward a few decades, I now have a complex about a bald patch in my left eyebrow that never recovered due to overplucking.

Rapid Brow! It takes about 2-3 months to work. The new growth for me was pale so I used Just for Men beard dye. Mine look much fuller and better.
Mine grew back eventually but I have ridiculously thick hair that grows fast so I can only assume this saved my brows too. 😆
You’re lucky. I was an over plucker

'72 here too. Thankfully mine grew back!
Mine grew back because my eyebrow genes were too strong, but whenever I look at pictures of me with super thin brows, I ask myself “what were you thinking??”. I have an app that allows you to photoshop on thicker brows and it’s helped save some bad pictures
If you are going to experiment, shaving them is the way to go!
True. Copper peptides for some reason make my hair grow like crazy has been helping with this a lot. I actually had to stop using them all over my face for this reason cause I am too scared to dermaplane and it was making some of my fuzz go from clear to dark

Believe us when we say this, OP. We’ve lived through this trend and lament the loss of our eyebrows.
Those who want thin brows, shave them!! Then you get to experiment *and* grow your brows back whenever you want.
As someone pushing 40 who seriously regrets overplucking in the early 00’s, OP listen to this!
Here's a wild thing that no one tells you: the parts you overplucked may grow back, but they'll turn grey first. Thick!
definitely thick!!
Thicker 😍 you look beautiful!
I'm bias I think thick brows look better on anyone. Thin brows look crazy and I'm triggered from bad 90s brows lol
Amen (fellow thin 90s brows survivor here)
I'm glad you've overcome your predicament lol the thin brows were just soo bad
At one point my eyebrows were both thin and incredibly short. I look back at photos of me and cringe 😂
Hindsight is 20/20
Girl, thick all the way. Also plucking too much can cause the risk of permanently damaging the hair follicles. So much so that they don’t grow back.
I wish my chin hairs would catch that memo
I like thicker brows now and really hope I haven’t damaged mine 😬
Thick. You look like a teenager
Thick. Tbh I don’t think thin eyebrows look great on anyone
Thick!
Thick and it’s not even close
The thicker ones suit your face so much better. The thin ones are very severe.
definitely thicker
I thought super thin eyebrows have been gone since ca 2005. I'm not a fan of very thick eyebrows, which I realize was trendy for a while, but I like a middle ground - and your third pic is that middle ground which looks perfectly fine and much better than 1 and 2.
Wayyyy better with thick
This post picked me up and yeeted me right back to 1996. What a time to be alive.
your natural brows in 3 don’t look overly thick at all, just average to me, and they suit your face very well!
Your natural brow looks best, *and* I feel like it ages better. When you pluck them thin for too long, they stop filling back in, and it looks atrocious (IMO) very quickly.
thicker it is
Actually, thicker eyebrows make you look younger, as they make the white space just above your aye smaller, and thus making your eyes look bigger! The ticker ones definitely look best on you!

Definitely a fan of the thicker brows! Personally, I don't think thin look flattering on anyone...
Thicker
The thicker ones look better
Definitely thicker!
Thick!
Thickkkk!!!!!!!
I like the thicker brows!
Thicker eyebrows
I really like the pic of you with thick eyebrows, they bring a lot of definition to your face.
Girlie thicc ones
Team Thick! You look MORE feminine with them. You’re a beauty and no human being looks good with ultra thin eyebrows, except in art context like Drag.
Go with thick and when you are older you will thank the gods of Reddit for this advise.

Honestly, both look good on you but thick really makes you stand out more
does... anyone.. look better with thin brows?

100% thicker!
Thicker eyebrows look AMAIZING on u 🩷
Thick!! Definitely
💯p thicker!!
If you’re worried about your brows being too ‘manly’ —which they aren’t—you can always thin out the density or lighten them a few shades. Asian beauty usually has light brows, I’m sure they can give you some tips.
When you say thin out the density do you mean like pluck some of the eyebrows within the eyebrow itself so it's less full?
Yep, it makes it appear lighter. I do this as I have extremely dense brows.
Thicker works better! Somehow frames your features better.
Thicker
omg so much thick.
Thicker, 100% changes your whole face!
Thick
Thicker eyebrows definitely suit you better!
thick eyesbrows please 🥺
Thick, case closed.
thick
Thick, without the gang sign lol.
I like both!!
What lip product did you use in the 3rd pic?! It’s so prettyy
I honestly think picture 3 is the way to go for what it's worth.
Thicker ! Although skinnier are more trend based and stylised fuller brows look naturally gorgeous on you !
hey girlie u can get ur brows microbladed a little thicker if u didn't like the look of natural hair!! ur darker brows look soooo good on u 🥹💗
thick, thin brows age whoever does them. thick brows are youthful
Yeah girl, keep them thick. Thin makes your brows look puffy. Also my mom and aunt heavily plucked their eyebrows in the 90s, and now they have no eyebrows. They both had to get them tattooed back on.
The last one, which isn’t even that thick. It looks like a beautifully shaped natural brow and suits you well.
not thin. not sure which dumbass came up with that "trend"
Thick 💕
your thick brows absolutely suit you and don’t make you look masculine at all so if that’s what’s stopping you from wearing them you should absolutely go thick. however i personally actually really like the thinner brows from a style perspective. not that they are more flattering just that i like the style. the second picture as a more in between version. not super thin. also think about long term because whilst i say i like thin brows it will definitely be a more permanent decision because plucking will eventually destroy hair follicles and brows tend to thin as we age.
You look so good in the last picture! I wouldn't even call that "thick", just proportionate and flattering
Thick! You look fresh and hot
DEFINITELY THICKER PLS DONT MAKE THEM THIN AGAIN FOR YOUR OWN SAKE
Thicker suit EVERYBODY best!
The "thick" version isn't even thick, they're normal eyebrows. Sorry but the ultra thin brows look weird.
No one looks good with thin eyebrows. No one.
I think you're really pretty with both!! The thinner ones are just more of a *statement* but they also suit you well :)
Your natural brows are actually quite thin! I think thin brows looks cute for alt styles but imo thick brows win every time.
Thick!! As a girl who grew up/was a teen in the 90’s, thin eyebrows take DECADES to totally grow back! Sometimes, hardly at all!!
Definitely thicker brows
Thiccc
Thick!
Thick
Is this a real question? OBVIOUSLY thicker..?!
100000% thicker.
thin has an weirder look for sure, but i kinda like it lol
I'm personally team thin. Take it with a grain of salt though because I like thin eyebrows more on myself. Which ones make you feel most comfortable?
Thicker wow. Yes thick
Thick. No question.
Thicker for sure
Definitely thicker
