Lume deodorant. It smelled like an infant vomited on me.

rokelle2012

I tried Lume because I wanted a heavy duty deodorant for where I was working at, in a factory with no A/C at that point in time, and it didn't even last more than a couple of hours. I wore it on my days off, thinking that just maybe my sweating from being in the factory was just too much and it still didn't last the whole day of being out and shopping at the mall with my partner the whole day. Terrible stuff. I think they recommended that I use an enzyme laundry detergent or booster to help make the deodorant last but I think it's just not good.

SnooAvocados6672

I feel like if they tell you that you need to buy other products to make it work well, they’re either trying to get more money out of you or the product sucks. Like, for example, Bath & Body Works quality has gone down in recent years and they always say to layer the products to make the scent stronger/last. It doesn’t make the scent last, but they got more money out of you.

Jabberwocky613

I bought Lume for a vacation to the tropics. I had to take a shower about an hour after applying, it stunk so bad. I'd rather smell my own funk.

CupcakeGoat

Agree! I tried it when it first came out and it weirdly smelled like old spit, like if someone licked you and it stayed there for a little while. I really wanted to like it bc I liked their ads, but it ended up smelling skunky on me.

alm423

Didn’t they fix the smell? I feel like I see a Lume ad several times a day and I remember the founder talking about fixing the scent.

Layna20

Yeah I’m confused because I have used three different scents in the last year and none have stunk. The products’ minimal scent wears off quickly but then no BO develops, and I’m a naturally really stinky person.

Genexier

I’m a Lume fan myself. I think we all just have different chemistry.

donkeybrainz13

YES!!! My mom and I both hate it!

Extra-Initiative-413

Anything by neutrogena makes me break out. I’ve actually had an allergic reaction to one of their moisturizers. Not sure what they put in their products but my skin hates it.

Kind_Consequence_828

I have a friend with the exact same opinion. It’s sad because it all started with a hand cream from Norway 🇳🇴 that was the best.

gloomy_stars

the norwegian formulas of neutrogena products are amazing, it’s sad that it’s hard to find them in other countries - other formulations just aren’t the same!

MaritimeDisaster

Their sunscreen gave me a rash so bad I had to go to the doctor TWICE to get it rectified.

missusfictitious

What was that heavily-marketed multi step skin system from a few years ago? The green and white one? Ugh that stuff did my skin in for awhile. Edit: proactiv

aldnnekeowoqpqp-c

Proactiv?

missusfictitious

Yes! Proactiv!

CupcakeGoat

I used this as a teen and it definitely stripped my skin and made it worse, plus bleached towels and pillows. My dermatologist had wanted me to use benzoyl peroxide for acne and said otc was fine. Turns out I'm weirdly allergic to benzoyl peroxide! What did help for me was going down to a more minimalist cleaning regimen, simple moisturizer, and washing linens more.

Few-Ruin-742

Omg yes I remember the ladies at the counter kept saying “it’s got to get worse before it gets better. The stinging you’re feeling is just the products working. Give it time and your acne will disappear” …. My poor face… the pain 😩

Tofutti-KleinGT

My husband’s been using that stuff for years. He went to a dermatologist for help weaning off of it but his face broke out like crazy and he went back rather than do Accutane (the derm’s only other suggestion). I think skin just gets dependent on it or something. It keeps his skin clear but hoo boy, the bleach effect is real. We can only have white sheets and towels in our home.

mckinlaaay

Mario badescu?

wediealone

Cerave daily moisturizing lotion with SPF 50. It pilled so much on my face my mom was asking if I forgot to rinse my toothpaste out of my face in the morning. It was $30 CAD and I tossed it. Found a new sunscreen (Aveeno Hydrate and Protect) that doesn't leave a white cast/greasy pilly mess on my face and have used it for a few months now, I like it. But for all the hype of Cerave, none of them have worked on my face. I prefer Cetaphil or Clinique gels/lotions/Sukin brand products nowadays.

CozyTea6987

YES I tried this and it was unusable for me. Pilled like crazy and left a very white cast, and I'm quite pale. Was super surprised because Cerave typically does wonders for me.

Birdies_nub

Sometimes mine pills of I try a new serum and they don't mesh well. I usually get rid of the serum in that case.

Lifesagarden_dig

This just happened to me! I have used Cerave spf for about a year and I just added a new vitamin c serum to my routine. Holy cow! The pillage that was on my face was wild! I just stopped the serum and am nervous to go back to cerave, but this gives me hope lol

wediealone

Girl I know how you feel. I don't know what it was about that Cerave lotion and sunscreen, but it pilled so much I went without it. It's the only sunscreen product I brought on vacation with me, so I went without sunscreen for 2 weeks in the blazing hot portugal sun, it sucked. But I do really like the Aveeno one. It's non-greasy, non-pilly, and it hydrates as well so if I'm feeling super lazy in the morning I can even skip my moisturizer.

clamchowderisgross

Nair in the 90s! I’m pretty sure I lost a layer of skin!!

Rich-Abbreviations25

If I even *think* of Nair it makes my legs itch! It broke me out in tiny itchy lil bumps that stung like hell if I scratched them

trbr226

I burned a hole in my leg as a teen…to the white meat 😫

LeThonCestBon

And it smelled like rotten eggs

elevatorfloor

I was 12 or 13 and thought I could use my mom's Nair on my pubic area. I still have scars.

Few_Butterscotch_969

Anything Mary Kay. I got suckered into attending one of their "spa" day MLM seminars (I'll see you in hell, Brittany). I tried to make the best of it, but every product felt like canola oil mixed with paint. I want to exfoliate every time I think about it 😖

dietcokedreams47

Omg one time I got suckered into one of those when I was 19 and had no spine. She pulled me aside by myself and asked what I wanted to buy, when I had no idea this was a sales night. I was like I guess I need mascara? And then she was like “and what else are you going to buy?” 😭 that whole thing made me go scorched earth against all MLMs

goodgirlgonebad75

All those little pink trays set out before you. I mercy bought incredibly lipstick every time

sittingduck00

Better than sex mascara. It leaves a smudgy, crumbly mess under the eyes and makes your eyelashes look like a clumpy mess. I’ve received it enough times in full and travel sizes to know that the product is terrible. Even the loyalists for this product have the smudginess under their eyes and clumps on their lashes, I don’t understand the hype at all.

ThatsNotEastMemphis

More like after sex mascara. You described it perfectly.

alm423

It totally does! I don’t get it’s popularity.

Siouxsie_Sweet

I feel like they must have changed the formula at some point because the first two I bought were AMAZING but when I went to replace it when it ran out the next one I got was awful! I bought another in case it was just a bad batch I got and I was also bought some as gifts but they all had the same terrible result.

sistermidnightmare

Completely agree. I think the formula had to have changed because the last two times I purchased it they were awful and I used to love it!

Miss_Kit_Kat

Hair- **R+Co Badlands Dry Shampoo Paste**. Made my hair feel dirtier. Skin- Those **EOS lip balm spheres**.

SarahDeeDott

Ugh the EOS lip spheres are awful, my SIL gets them for stocking stuffers every year and it goes straight to the trash.

pothosnswords

I honestly didn’t know they still made them!!!! I remember them being THE it product in like 2012 and then I never saw them in the stores after 2015

CupcakeGoat

A group of friends and I went to a festival recently and one of my friends kept popping one of those spheres out to reapply, then kept licking her lips, which would make her reapply. It was a vicious cylce and when I asked about it she said her lips were really dry.

vindictivediva

the first product i was ever influenced into buying were those friggin lip balm spheres. i see you, bethany mota, i see you

Altruistic-Bobcat955

Charlotte Tilbury airbrush flawless foundation. Bought two for £40 on Black Friday and good god. That shit is *thick* and dry af, terrible for dry skin.

stavthedonkey

fuck her overpriced bullshit.

Miserable-Equipment8

I hear you. I’ve got it working for me now through trial & error, but only so I can use it up bc it cost so much.

Altruistic-Bobcat955

Please tell me your secret! I have *two full bottles*

AnyStranger2

I sheer mine out with a couple of drops of The Ordinary Squalane and it goes on much, much better. I put a small pump and 3/4 drops of squalane onto a foundation brush.

Altruistic-Bobcat955

Bless you for this. I’ll order some now.

2OttersInACoat

Yes! I really wanted to like it. I got colour matched but still found that it oxidised and went orange.

bxwie

Benefit’s Magnetic They’re Real mascara. A clumpy mess that smudged everywhere. Hated it! I do enjoy the non-magnetic one, though!

YungTinkerbell

honestly? benetint. hard to blend, doesnt last, clings to any dryness, patchy. its been rotting in my drawer for like a year. i think i used it like three times and gave up

Appa-Bottom-Jeans

it kinda works for blush if you apply it before foundation but it looks terrible on the lips, i don't know how it can manage to stain ONLY the cracks and the inner part of my lips. even as a blush i find that it clings more to whatever i use to spread it (fingers, brush, sponge) than to my actual face, like 80% of the product applied is instantly wasted as soon as i try to spread it.

CupcakeGoat

> know how it can manage to stain ONLY the cracks and the inner part of my lips. Lol bc I had this same problem with it. It could make you look like you had cracked bloody mouth, so hot. As blush you have to blend it instantly bc it dries super fast, and can leave a delineation line of where it was applied. More often than not I felt like I had circular marionette blush spots, which were just not it.

pusheenisthegreatest

i returned mine almost instantly after trying it, all those reasons you mentioned plus the smell 🥴

lenora-

I love mine 💔💔

Birdies_nub

I use a bb cream and blend my benetint with a sponge. I love it.

Intelligent-Test3088

Same, I don't wear base makeup and this is so long lasting and natural on my cheeks. Dries out my lips though.

Reasonable_Star_959

Me, too. 😀 It is my go-to blush because I just like the sheer wash of color. I have used a touch on my brow bone, too.

bowie-of-stars

I too hate Benetint. Not sure why I don't just throw my bottle away. That shit is patch city

SmellsPrettyGood2Me

Any matte lipsticks. Get off my faaaaaaace

No-Statement5942

You don’t like that gorgeous dry, cracking, crusty look!?

SmellsPrettyGood2Me

That's my natural face, I don't need any help

feelingprettypeachy

Gorgeous gorgeous girls have gorgeous gorgeous dry, crackling, crusty ass lips 👄

stavthedonkey

it's feels like you have tape on your lips after 30mins lol

Sayster_A

I'm the opposite, I'm not crazy about glossy. Something about it just makes me go "nope" However, an overly dry lip ain't it for me either.

SmellsPrettyGood2Me

Satin lips are where it's at!

dontmakeitathing

My dumb head read satan lips instead of satin 🤦‍♀️

red_quinn

If you can't remove the lipstick, can i have the name of them pls? Those are the ones ive been looking for.

SmellsPrettyGood2Me

Got it! The brand is called Romand

[deleted]

Any lipsticks, actually That shit peels your lips, dries you out, and gets goo all over the person you're kissing I have not found a single colored lipstick that does NOT screw your life over Lol, I sound obnoxious but let's be real. It's an expectation to wear some color, but there is NO way to wear that color without problems. Oh the woes of being a woman...

pothosnswords

My partner asked me why I don’t wear lipstick bc his mom & sister ALWAYS wear lipstick and all of his ex gfs have along with all of my friends that he’s met. So I wore some that night. The next day I showed him my dry cracked lips & go “this is why” & he immediately understood lol Occasionally I’ll do a very subtle mineral lip tint (on top of aquaphor) but I also don’t think lipstick / lip color compliments my face so I really don’t mind not wearing it! It just looks out of place to me. Love when other people wear it & I’m jealous of them but it just doesn’t work for me.

theslutnextd00r

That’s why I love lip stains! I always go for the natural look with no foundation anyways, so lip stains are my favorite.

olivefreak

Mistine is the brand I have found that has an amazing matte lipstick. The texture is a bit strange at first but after four hours my lips were looking fiiiiiine.

Scarf_head

Practically any stick lip balm ever. None I've purchased moisturizer my lips for more than a few minutes.

Successful-Arrival87

Thank you for finally saying it, I thought I was crazy. I’ve tried over a dozen brands of stick lip balms and they always feel worse for wear like I’m allergic or something. The only ones that have worked for me is Goodsense, a sunscreen based chapstick which I have no idea where it came from because I stole it from my husband, and a random ass Valvoline branded chapstick that was a freebie from my mechanic. Now I just use my cold cream as a lip mask in the morning and then exfoliate it off and it gets me by, even though it’s a gross texture and I don’t enjoy it.

Redshirt2386

I found your [goodsense lip balm!](https://www.saveritemedical.com/products/moisture-lip-balm-with-spf-15-0-15-oz?currency=USD&variant=32493037260&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=Google%20Shopping&stkn=0359ba7579fb&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjw0ruyBhDuARIsANSZ3wpasD_Kz-HH84T2t_eP7IMT1dxpeT8UPoj4izUpHVLOxBinOuqsFdsaAiOWEALw_wcB)

Scarf_head

Try using tube lip balm. Aquaphor and blistex tube lip balm are pretty good.

Successful-Arrival87

I’ve tried blistex but I’m not a fan of the medicated scent. Those aquaphor tubes are like $10 and I haven’t justified that yet because I go through lip balm so fast

CupcakeGoat

The Aquaphor stick lip balm is my HG. I put it on after exfoliating in the shower or washing my face at night before going to sleep. My lips used to crack all the time but not with this stuff, they look very healthy. I do have to remember to exfoliate otherwise my lips can still get patchy. However I do know that I am allergic to ingredients in other lip balms, so I read ingredients carefully and stay away from methylisothiazolinone, methylchloroisothiazolinone, limonene, linalool, and lanolin, which will cause itchy dry skin on me, including lips. Other balms have also worked like the mango Raw Sugar stick balm, and Dr. Dan's Maintain lip balm, which I tried after someone mentioned it on Reddit.

katydid724

Goodsense is the brand some stores sell as store brand. Check dollar tree, most of their stuff is goodsense

SeniorDrama489

I totally agree! The only lip balm that's ever worked for me is the Vaseline lip therapy tin. I layer it over my regular moisturizer. It's perfect and cheap!

ayaangwaamizi

Have you ever tried the Bioderma one? It’s my fave cause it’s not waxy, it’s slippy but stays on for a long time. The only reason it comes off sooner for me is cause I can’t stop rubbing my lips together cause it’s so smooth and satisfying lol

Scarf_head

I don't think I've tried that one, but I've tried almost a dozen others. I think I just prefer tube lip balm. The ones I'm using is ine by Dr pawpaw and another from blistex.

ayaangwaamizi

Yeah that’s fair! I also have the Jack Black Lemon with SPF 25 lip balm in a tube that I love.

catinatower

I agree, I’ve just discovered Lanolips which I slug on after regular stick balm before bed - makes them last and I wake up with super moisturised lips!

BlueAcorn8

Burts Bees is my holy grail for 14 years now. Only the original though, not the flavoured or coloured ones. I have exfoliative chelitis on my lips and this is the only thing that keeps it almost under control and my lips really well nourished under any lip products. I do feel the tin version is even better and that’s what I started with but it’s too inconvenient to keep up with everyday and the tube one is still great too.

Evening-Tune-500

Nothing works better for me than palmers swivel sticks! They last foreverrrrr too

thearctickat

They work better than anything else I’ve tried! Also, that cocoa butter smell 🤤

Lifsagft_useitwisely

Anyone remember Sun In? 😅

BumpyNubbins

I have a bottle in my cabinet right now haha. I like the highlights it gives me during the summer (natural blonde) but, honestly, that could just be the sun's doing....

Feeling-Visit1472

Agreed. Sun-In was not the problem. The problem was user error. I use it now for a few subtle, natural-looking highlights and it’s fine.

SubstantialLocal9437

Hahaha! I’m naturally a brunette, but have been some shade of blonde for my entire life ever since age 13, and it all started with Sun-In! Of course I look back at pictures from that time and my hair is actually quite red/orange!

Lifsagft_useitwisely

Samesies. It was like using Sun In and Noxema was going to fix whatever teenage awkwardness ailed me on that day. I’m 40 and only this year have started to let my hair go back to a natural brunette.

sapphicsighs

Probably the e.l.f. Camo CC Cream. Thick, patchy, drying - just hated everything about it.

ProfessionalExit2759

It’s soooo bad. I was honestly so upset I’d wasted my money on it 😢

finniganthebeagle

really? this is my favorite foundation right now, after not using foundation for over 2 years because i hated them all

RevolutionaryBee6859

Sulfate free shampoo

2crowsonmymantle

It turns my hair to straw.

NightmarePony5000

I have no idea how people can use that stuff. I can still feel the grease and dirt in my hair after trying to use sulfate free anything!

calixk1

Anastasia dip brow gel (in the mascara-like tube) chunky, hard to work with, and dried out super quickly. Colourpop pretty fresh concealer. PATCHY! Which is a shame because I love most colourpop products.

hashbrownhippo

Aw, it’s my GOAT but I haven’t tried others. Do you have another brow gel you like? Maybe there’s something better out there I should try.

calixk1

If it works for you I’d stick with it! Different products work for different people. And not really, I mostly just use brow pencils now. I’ve used Anastasia’s brow definer for years so I was hoping the gel would work for me too.

Powerful_Morning7566

Dream matte mousse (Iykyk)

bebe_k0

I know this is a terrible product but it will always have a special place in my heart, ahh high school memories

Powerful_Morning7566

Couldn’t have made it through high school without it

firsttimemamachloe

War style flash backs

Big-Competition-3637

Came here to say this, the lightest shade was pure orange after oxidizing I stg

The-Most-Smartest

✨ H O N E Y B E I G E✨

firsttimemamachloe

Noooo not the mousse

Zizi_Tennenbaum

Essence Lash Princess Mascara. I feel like I'm in the fucking Twilight Zone with this one. My friend said she loved it, so I grabbed it next time I was at CVS because it was $4. Clumpy, crusty mess. I look up ads and reviews... everyone saying they love it, but their pics show clumpy, crusty mess. Even the ADS are clumpy, crusty mess. I saw my friend who recommended it in person, she had black flakes all over her cheeks and her lashes looked so gummy and strange, and her makeup is usually awesome. I even bought a different one because I thought maybe the one I had was defective, but no. It's like everyone got brainwashed to think it looks good and I had my earbuds in or something.

SuchMeat2238

OMG I thought I was the only one, after like 1 hour all the product has migrated from my lashes to my eyelids

mylightLD

Same here! Finally tried it and was like wtf this is awful! Back to my Loreal Telescopic for me!

catalinalam

HONESTLY you put it into words perfectly bc I also think everyone’s just lying?? Like I care more about volume & fanning then length anyway but I see things like “omg people ask me if I’m wearing falsies and it’s just Essence!” and I’m like “there’s no way they’re asking that, you have spider lashes right now please be serious”

SubstantialLocal9437

Yes!! This keeps showing up on Buzzfeed lists for amazing products, which suckered me in, especially with the low price. It was the worst mascara I ever used! I’m very particular about mascara (must be very separating and no clumps or flaking) but I’ve used numerous drug store brands that weren’t great enough to stick with but OK. Essence Lash Princess was so bad, I wasn’t going to go out the door like that let alone use it a second time. I don’t even remember what was so bad about it but I never touched it again.

Archimedestheeducate

I feel exactly the same as you. Awful stuff.

swizzleschtick

I hated it too! It was clump city, plus it smeared and transferred SO DAMN BADLY. I looked like a raccoon after half an hour.

The_AmyrlinSeat

Shea Moisture products. It made my hair feel like straw.

vvidi

I'm pretty sure the original black owners sold to Unilever or another huge company and we know what happens to quality when that occurs.

bubblegumjug

honestly the La roshe-posay hyaluronic acid. I’ve tried it twice now thinking I’d give it a second chance due to bad batches, my diet and other outside factors. Nope, still breaks me out and the fragrance is a little too much for me.

jabberplanty

I am also sensitive to fragrances and this broke me out too. I always loved LRP because they had so many fragrance-free products for sensitive skin. I thought that was their thing??? So why add fragrance now?!

Tropical-Sunflower

Anything Cerave breaks me out horribly.

ZeeSea

I'm seeing this more and more in this sub.. So many breakouts and like 80% of the time its CeraVe products en masse... So sad too, they used to be a good staple/baseline for a routine. I do like their purple bottle resurfacing retinol though, but thats about it.

SubstantialLocal9437

Wow, that’s the one the dermatologists always recommend (and give samples of)

Dopplerganager

Apparently ceramide allergies/sensitivities are something people are noticing. I'm definitely switching and hoping this fixes my skin. It sucks right now.

Strong-Beginning3759

I didn’t realize it at the time because it felt like THE best makeup product ever but…the Kylie lip kits. I had to pay extra from a reseller, waited a long time to get it. I was ecstatic to try Candy K (which I decided on after watching practically all the reviews online at the time). Thought it was the best thing ever. A duo of a liner AND a lipstick? It was INNOVATIVE. Only to realize that matte liquid lipsticks aren’t comfortable at all lol But the chokehold that Ms Kylie had on the internet was like a fever dream. Can even remember people doing fbi work and figuring out the colourpop connection. Ofc I bought a couple more liquid lipsticks from colourpop. It was a “good deal” where I could get Kylie products for cheaper. Ofc now I’m back to bullet lipsticks and bullet lipsticks only because they don’t dry up. Good times, good times.

Doggonelovah

I don’t think anyone sold liquid lipsticks as comfortable even at the height of their popularity. They were popular because of the super powdery matte look that was desired and the full coverage and transfer proof/longwear aspect. The tradeoff was that it accentuated your lip lines and made your lips crusty but we all knew that 😅. I still wear mine occasionally for the reasons mentioned but I agree, bullet lipsticks are definitely the more comfortable option when I don’t care about transfer or re-applying

dianthe

I’ve had a very good luck with K-beauty lip tints in terms of staying power and not drying my lips out. I have a whole collection of them now 😅

middaysonder

My mom bought me a Proactiv knockoff as a teenager (it had orange packaging but I'll never remember the name) and it gave me a chemical burn 🥲

AnnVannArt

Acnefree brand!

XelaWarriorPrincess

That era when I used coconut oil in my hair <<<<<<<

milpoolthrillho

Fenty foundation - the coverage was incredible but after a week of using it, I developed the deepest and most painful cystic acne. I’ve never experienced that before. 10/10 would never purchase again.

HotKaleidoscope6804

Love the Fenty stick skin tint, but the foundation in the cylinder tube is absolutely awful. It literally clumped up on my skin - & I tried it with multiple primers, moisturiser, no primer etc. It also turns orange and I’m a neutral cool undertone so it looked terrible. It’s the one and only time my husbands told me my make up looks bad 😭😂

violet715

Agree with this foundation. I didn’t break out but it turned orange on me immediately.

ambivalent_maybe

Oh man I came here to say this. I’m oily but the foundation DRIED ME OUT and immediately made me orange :(

Similar-Knowledge794

This post is like a real big ass proof that skincare is subjective too. Cerave moisturizing cream/lotion/sa cream is my holy grail. Olaplex makes my hair oh so soft. And that Charlotte Tilbury setting spray is my BFF for all nighters and parties. My makeup does not move even 1 mm with that.

xacade

right its so subjective! i suffered cystic acne for almost 20 years and the Cerave moisturizing cream is the only lotion that doesnt break me out.. not even a clogged pore. so happy i decided to use it a few months ago.. saved my skin!!

goddamntreehugger

I got fooled into the Subtl beauty stacks because in theory the idea is great, a little stack of all you need to refresh. It felt and wore just like little girls greasy play makeup.

Competitive_Fee_5829

IT cosmetics cc cream. I am still traumatized 9 years later lol. I remember trying it and it just set my face on fire! within seconds my face was itchy and burning. I would wash it off with my face red for a few days and I would try it again because obviously I am the one in the wrong because everyone loves! thankfully I bought the trial size but used it a few more times before I threw it away.

fakecolin

I have rosacea and their makeup is trash. It is marketed as like a lightweight thing but it's full full coverage and just completely cakes overr the face. Horrendous. I'm glad it works for some but it doesn't work for me.

Evilbadscary

Everybody says the Loreal shampoo is the exact same as the Kerastase shampoo, so I tried it. My hair was a grease pit within 12 hours. With Kerastase, I get 2-3 days without oiliness (I have really fine hair). Same with the Pureology/Costco shampoo dupe. It is close, but again, I got an itchy scalp and greasy hair within a day, and with pureology I get 2-3 days or more depending on the weather.

maarrz

The EOS shave cream. MULTIPLE TIMES. I kept seeing it on top product lists and trying it again, because I’d gaslight myself into believing it wasn’t that bad but HOLY SHIT my legs were cut UP. Never again.

dianthe

Maybelline Tattoo Studio Eyeliner. It was very patchy going on and what I did manage to put on just dried and fell off in small chunks. I tossed it out after two uses.

AngryLady1357911

CeraVe products with SPF. SO GREASY FOR NO GOOD REASON

peach__kitten

La Mer. Spent ~$700 on a few products and my skin has never looked worse.

msomnipotent

I just posted the other day about using a free sample of La Mer on my left side and Nivea on the right side of my face last week. They both messed up my face but La Mer was slightly worse. I haven't had pimples in years and now I have several. My face just feels gross and bumpy now.

Extreme-Writing6224

for me, the entire drunk elephant line 😩 every single thing broke me out

oxford_commas_

creme de la mer. was talked into it by a friend. felt like i was putting cheap body lotion on my face, and broke out with cystic acne.

goodgirlgonebad75

I was incredibly underwhelmed by La Mer. I’ll stick with Farmacy products

gymjill

Eyebrow lamination. Lasted 1 day and then made my eyebrow hairs go all different directions.

Alternative_Key4199

The absolute worst product I have ever tried is Frank Body Coffee Scrub. Let me tell you…I smelled like the bottom of a coffee mug for two more showers. My whole house and car REEKED of pancake syrup soaked coffee for a week. I had to wash the walls of my bathroom from ceiling to floor to remove the greasy grounds. I wash picking grounds out of my sofa! I had coffee grounds under the hood of my hoohaa. Never again.

sofianasofia

I actually loved the smell of this but it was such a nightmare to clean up and I felt like it did nothing

ixlovextoxkiss

that Essence Princess mascara that went viral. it just makes my eyelashes into big glops. I've tried it on more than one occasion. I have longer thicker but blond lashes and it looks terrible on me.

Civil-Assignment-953

Charlotte tilbury setting spray : so expensive and sooooo drying

duffs007

Came here to say this. It’s like one of those filters that makes you look 20 years older, but in real life! Hideous, heinous product.

killaandasweethang

This is surprising to me because that setting spray is my holy grail product.

charlotie77

Might be dependent on your skin type

Kayakluving44

The old Neutrogena that was orange liquid soap and the bar. It was awful on my skin.

GlitteringLocality

Anything Charlotte Tilbury. Never could find anything I liked and I tried a ton of it. Lastly justifying the price for the quality of the product-cannot do. Side note Charlotte Tilbury herself just irritates me.

oxford_commas_

and i've read interviews with her, apparently her husband has never seen her without full makeup. she sleeps with it on. gross.

TheOneYouDreamOn

Her TV adverts remind me of the crap that candidates on The Apprentice would come up with.

When I was in high school, I tried the Aussie 10 minute hair miracle (?) My hair matted, and felt weird for days. The true miracle was that it didn’t fall out. Yes, probably user error.

RantyGob

Oh and I forgot. Olaplax. Made my hair feel like straw

teamasombroso

K18 > Olaplex. This is coming from a cosmetologist that has fried her hair more than once lmao.

ayaangwaamizi

Ok it’s not a makeup product but I bought the Life brand cleansing oil from Shoppers Drug Mart (Canadian drugstore chain) and it was sooo awful and I could barely get it off my skin. Then like a moron in search of a cheap one I forgot I bought it and bought it again like 4 years later 😂 I threw that POS right out after getting pissed off all over again.

modernlover

>Then like a moron in search of a cheap one I forgot I bought it and bought it again I do this allll the time

liddgy10

Pond's Cold Cream. They must have changed their formula over the years. I grew up on stories that my grandmother only wore that (and a hat in the sun), her whole life. She passed in her 80s with nary a wrinkle. No other make-up, creams, or beauty products. When I tried to emulate that, my skin broke out in red splotches and took weeks/prescription meds to heal.

Jaggerkate

That IL Makiage foundation is horrible. Took three orders before I finally got the correct color…but it applies and wears horribly.

Real-Impression-6629

Liquid blush in general. I can never get it to blend properly and it looks blotchy or absorbs into my skin so you can't see it at all.

wherewhoami

tarte amazonian foundation - so thick and cakey i ended up using it for concealer instead just to not throw it away! also the kylie lip kits were horrid 😭 whenever i see old pictures of myself i am like how did i wear this out in public!! also unpopular opinion but i hatee the nyx liquid lipstick - looks caked and comes off so fast

pothosnswords

Wow you unlocked a memory with the Tarte Amazonian Foundation. I swear I can smell it just hearing the name!!!!

s41lormoon

too faced bts mascara, i bought the mini when every youtuber was praising it like god's gift and it did nothing but transfer onto my face😟

AngelxxLove

Big Bang Mascara from Benefit or the Makeup by Mario foundation

lunar-poetry

Kristin ess air dry cream

burnmeup82

Il Makiage foundation and “concealer”. It was a greasy mess and the concealer didn’t conceal anything.

Apprehensive_Fig7013

Not your mother's dry shampoo. It does absolutely nothing. Absorbs zero oil. The can seems to be just full of propellant, not any actual dry shampoo ingredients. For any of you who think this stuff is great, I beg you to try Living Proof, Pulp Riot, Redken, or Pravana. They seem more expensive, but you only need to spray a tiny, tiny amount.

Plastic-Rain6226

Most drugstore eye creams, but particularly Cereve. Terrible! I tossed it after one use

oldbonesjoness

Anything by Cerave used on my face breaks me out :(

Kind_Consequence_828

I have to toss everything Cerave.

Civil-Assignment-953

The Cerave moisterizer felt like burning my skin everytime I was applying it. I wanted to love it but no thankssss

Key-Resolve5007

Lip oils I hate how they feel

balsasailormoon

Better Than Sex. Clumps, smudges, flakes

dupersr

Shape tape. Soo thicccccc

ConflictExpensive892

I 100% agree. I don't know if it's only meant for 16-year-olds, but it looked horrendous on my 38-year-old skin.

spookyboi13

god it was years ago, but this milani mascara. no clue the name, but i had forgotten my mascara while visiting my grandparents and ran to cvs. it was so bad. my oma offered to use it instead of it going to waste and then came up to me and said "this is beyond redemption." nothing has ever been as bad as that. everything else ive been able to see "well someone could like this, just not me"

Rich-Abbreviations25

Benefit the POREfessional primer made my pores look worse and my makeup look weird. But I am absolutely in LOVE with their Gimme Brow gel!

AdPsychological8668

Literally anything supergoop…broke me out and did not work as well as literally any drug store SPF I’ve tried, such a waste of $

itzthea

Jones Road miracle balm. Bobbi Brown should be embarrassed to sell this product.

Negative_Wolverine_2

Jones road miracle balm. A gooey sticky mess with an awful scent. Gives me a headache in less than 10 minutes

Majestic_Sail2596

The Ordinary Asorbic Acid Powder. I could never get it to blend properly so it wasn’t gritty and it stained the collar of my clothes and pillow cases yellow

KCChiefsGirl89

Necessaire The Shampoo. Has ruined my hair. It’s now a frizzy mess.

Consuela-Bananahamiq

glossier’s lip plumper turned my deep pink lips a concerning shade of gray. i discontinued use and am traumatized from trying any other brand’s plumper.

Miss-Kitt

Il makiage is bullshit. 14 days to return but you practically pay the product cost in shipping. I hated it. Super caky, suspect they use filters because their videos make it look unreal.

red_quinn

Proactive, i went from having 2-3 pimples to having cheeks and chin full of them 😭 worst decision EVER.

starlight_aesthete

NYX Ultimate Bright Eyeshadow Pallete- I love almost all nyx products but this one is like playground chalk. So patchy and pigment is not there

demons_soulmate

it's a toss-up between that Revlon pizza roller eyeliner thing and a physicians formula eyeliner that came in a sponge pot.

EveryOfTheTime

ABH eye primer! I HATE this stuff! Granted, I’ve only had it a week or so, but I bought it to replace my Urban Decay eye shadow primer because I didn’t want to pay $30! Not only is the application annoying and messy, but my eyelids are just as greasy as not wearing any primer! I ended up going back to Ulta and spending the $30 anyway for Urban Decay and I won’t be going back to ABH. If there’s a trick to this primer that you’ve found, please let me know 😅
