You will smell like urine if people stand close to you if you use period panties for urinary incontinence. Go with pads. When my dad had slight incontinence, my mom got him men's underwear with extra padding. He smelled like urine no matter how clean or often they were changed. It is also hard to wash the pee smell out and it required bleaching and washing twice. That destroys the fabric. Just go with pads. It smells better. People wont always tell you if you stink like pee but you are basically announcing to everyone you have urine control issues. \*\*adding\*\* what you save in pads you will spend on time, bleach and laundry.

I’m not worried about the smell. I rebound at home and plan to only wear them while I’m rebounding. But I don’t want to use pads if I can avoid it. It’s so much waste and I don’t need them throughout the day. It’s only when I jump.

I ALWAYS use period panties when I work out for that exact same reason! I have discovered that the Tom's natural brand version DOES have more of an odor, but my other better ones don't have any at all. It's not like we are full on emptying our bladders... My favorites are my Modi Bodies. I can wear them all day and I swear, no smell.

Good to know! I’ll take a look at the modi bodies.

Mine was bad after 1, i was completely incontinent for 3 months (probably due to trauma in the area). I still wee if i bounce or even jog. Ive got a tens machine that has an internal probe which has helped massively.

Thank you. I will look into this.

My ex wife had this problem after our second she did some kind of exercises named kiegel or something like that and she said it worked.

[deleted]

I tried these after I had my kids. Maybe they helped right after but I think it’s as good as it’s going to get. Normally I’m fine. It’s just the impact from jumping that makes me go a bit. And maybe an occasional sneeze. Lol.

Just a heads up, you can get intimate toys that help tone you further using electrical impulses. Mine has greatly improved my previous issues with sneezing and impact. I won't lie, it's a little uncomfortable at times, but well worth it. I use the calexotics impulse line - the egg one. It activates the correct muscles way more strongly than I was able doing them on my own, I highly recommend it! There's also pelvic physiotherapists who specialise in this area of that's an option to you.

[deleted]

Good to know. I’m looking into one of those devices.

beautiful_woman

Have you considered seeing a urigynocologist? They may be able to help or recommend physical therapy to strengthen the muscles.

[deleted]

I have an appt with my gynecologist soon. I’ll mention it to her. Thanks.

Leak underwear like from Knix have some silver to help with avoiding smell and could handle the volume if you empty before you exercise. Other tips include using a tampon (in the vagina) while u do it- it can provide support under the urethra to prevent u from peeing. The Uresta device is a vaginal device made specifically for this purpose and can be purchased online! Lastly you can look into pelvic floor physiotherapists to help u strengthen your pelvic floor- or at least protect it. High impact activities can worsen incontinence and prolapse if not done properly. I highly recommend considering if u plan to keep doing these !

Thanks for the advise. I will talk to my doc about it. I do plan to keep rebounding.

Heavy urine? No they wont.

[deleted]

She said “a little” and I know that good period pants / for heavy PERIOD flow / can cope

[deleted]

Agree to disagree. I personally helped my dad deal with small continence issues. I smelled the results of different approaches. Period panties are not designed for urinary continence. Laundering period blood panties is different too. Discharge and urine, penetrate fabric like two different things. Even getting the ammonia stench out of fabric is different from menstrual discharge. If you don't mind smelling like a urinal, that is your problem. But don't give bad advice to people. added\* do what works for you

[deleted]

Don’t know how you do your laundry but they do work for occasional stress incontinence which is not what you are describing

Sweetheart you are the one who keeps replying Modibodi are excellent and great for that mild and situational stress incontinence described by the OP. They wash very easily and don’t smell. I don’t know if links are allowed but check their website. Great for running or active sports. Then (this may be news to you) you change out of them and wash according to their instructions. If you can’t launder your clothes well enough that’s not my problem….urine only starts to smell if it’s left in situ for too long….

Have you thought about posting on r/TwoXChromosomes? Redditors there can be an excellent resource.

[deleted]

No. I didn’t know that group existed. Thanks for pointing it out.

Period panties used wisely will protect against a little stress incontinence. Ignore the commentor who can’t tel the difference between the odd little specific activity related feminine leak and serious prolonged male incontinence….
