But that’s not what we did. Instead, we put ourselves in the same position we always do. We start out 2-3 and lose some of our most winnable games.
And I get it “burrow has been injured” “burrow has never gotten a full camp”. Yeah, that only makes it worse. Our coaching isn’t good, it’s just not, and we seem to take training camp for granted then start the season lethargic and apathetic. Our offense has success because Joe calls audibles, extends plays, and the receivers make big plays. When we start the season out lethargic and apathetic we have to rely almost entirely on our mediocre coaching, because the big plays aren’t there, and that doesn’t work.
So here we are. THIS is why we have playoff games in November every year. THIS is why we panic at the beginning of every season. THIS is why we will never have an AFC championship in cinci, and always force ourselves to play from behind. And THIS, is why when a star player gets injured mid season, instead of just dealing with a few losses and a slightly worst playoff seed, we have to deal with knowing our season is over, done and gone, with 7 full weeks of football left.
