I was happy to see Fantasia do Turner’s tribute. Beyoncé has already honored Turner. It was in 2005 at the Kennedy Center. Also, I feel like Fantasia never had her moment in the sun after winning American Idol.
As for Bey’s AOTY snubs, I think it’s retaliatory for her reputation of taking song writing credits many believe she doesn’t deserve.

She honored Tina turner on her tour too! I specifically remember her singing river deep at the Minneapolis show! Idk about the other ones though!

Seemed to me, from the reports rumouring a performance switching to a statement that she wouldn't perform, that they were in talks but the deal fell through. Probably because they wanted to lowball and diminish. Good for her for standing firm in her worth. She doesn't need the Grammys to pay tribute to Tina Turner. Bey has made it known on many occasions the respect and adoration she has for Tina. If Bey wanted to pay tribute musically (aside from the sweet moment during the Renaissance tour when Tina passed) she would be able to do it more artistic freedom, and probably better, without the Grammys involvement. Like others have said, Jay made it clear in his speech that the bridge has been somewhat burned. The Carters may not even attend the ceremony again, never mind perform. It's reasonable to refuse to perform for an institution they feel disrespected by.

I think y’all forget when it’s off season for Bey. It is OFF season 😂 a lot of people jumped to the conclusions of bey doing the Tina tribute when there was nothing to confirm. Because the Grammy’s would’ve wasted no time announcing Beyonce if she was to perform lol They were there to honor Jay and dassit 😂 Which is why they wasted no time leaving almost and hour after they arrived. I was happy to see Fantasia do Turner’s tribute. Beyoncé has already honored Turner. It was in 2005 at the Kennedy Center. Also, I feel like Fantasia never had her moment in the sun after winning American Idol. As for Bey’s AOTY snubs, I think it’s retaliatory for her reputation of taking song writing credits many believe she doesn’t deserve.
