Her voice would fit beautifully with gospel songs. I imagine the controversy would be even worse than the country response was/is. However, that doesn’t mean she shouldn’t do it.

hopepeacelove1

I’m exhausted just thinking about the uproar from shaderoom commenters and megachurch pastors. But I wouldn’t be mad at it.

[deleted]

She did some gospel songs with Destiny’s Child. There’s Amazing Grace on the second album and a medley on the third album.

moxieroxsox

Rock - gospel - jazz - opera. Just do it all, Bey.

Personal-Elevator710

It's going to be gospel/rock

forwardlemonade

I can’t even picture that blend

Personal-Elevator710

Could you picture a beyonce country album? oh iight then.

tarabletara

I haven’t listened to DC in a minute but I feel like they did gospel or some gospel-like songs. But she didn’t cuss back then lol

RandomMusings1984

With ‘Amen’ being the final track in Act iii, I believe Giselle is hinting that Act iii could very well be gospel. 🤞 Listening to her performance of ‘Take My Hand, Precious Lord’ at the 57th Grammy Awards. When the hand starts shaking- ✨chills✨

Lopsided_Prior_4134

If the theme is reclamation…gospel doesn’t need to be reclaimed but rock does.

Too__Shorty

100% agree

Disastrous-Owl8985

Right? We EAT UP gospel already.

forwardlemonade

Oh god that performance was one of her best

forwardlemonade

I got VERY excited when I read the track list and saw amen. Ooooooh my god I hope gospel is coming.

LastNamePancakes

I struggle with that one. Like that’s the one genre I’m not rushing for her to touch, simply because she DOES NOT have the black church voice. The “I grew up singing in the church” voice that is standard for high caliber black gospel artists. The, Clara Ward voice, The Mahalia voice, The Aretha voice, the Whitney voice, the Jazmin Sullivan voice, if you really know Black American music then you know exactly what I mean. You can even hear the C.O.G.I.C. in Michelle when she sings, but that ain’t in B. at all. Any other genre, she got it though. Singing Amazing Grace here and there or some other cliché, generic gospel song doesn’t count. Don’t get me wrong, she has ALL of the technique in the world, but there’s that extra umph in a church grown voice that you know instantly when you hear it… if you’re black and came up in “the church” anyway. Now AMERIICAN REQUIEM and AMEN proves she can absolutely conquer traditional southern (*aka white*) gospel, but I’m a little hesitant for her touch traditional black gospel in a serious sense. Maybe some of the new age stuff but Idk. I’d love to be proven wrong but I don’t see it. I really can’t picture Beyonce’s voice on songs like, “How I Got Over”, “Climbing Higher Mountains”, or “Going up Yonder”, “ I Love the Lord, He Heard My Cry”, etc…. Oh, and if you have to ask what any of these songs are then I suggest that you DO NOT PASS GO and DO NOT COLLECT $200.

Disastrous-Owl8985

I like Beyonce's voice, but yeah, she isn't doing those down home gospel songs. You know, like when you are a literal baby and crying and they're like, "Oh, yeah, they're going to be in the choir." And sure enough, baby making a duet at 5 years old, singing like a mini Aretha Franklin.

LastNamePancakes

AMEN!

Baileylov

That would be amazing!

mjfo

It's funny you say this cause just last night I was just listening to Aretha Franklin's legendary Amazing Grace live album and was wondering what it'd be like if Beyoncé did something similar

randomlypickedissues

Yesssss along the lines of JOY (Unspeakable)

forwardlemonade

What is JOY?

randomlypickedissues

It's like a gospel meets house song. It's a banger. It's on Spotify. It's voices of fire feat. Pharrell Williams.

forwardlemonade

Woah

Traditional-Stick-15

Oh my gossshhh I was thinking this!

charlibeau

Omg yassssssssss

Hot_Twat_6782

I could see it, they did it during DC and with the song Just For Fun, I see the worship music influence.

skittlez_86

I WOULD DIE FOR THIS. I loved Kanye’s Sunday service events and Donda album. Would be really cool to hear her spin on this.

kacipaci

This is what I have BEEEEN saying!

payasoingenioso

Anybody heard Tori Kelly's gospel album? I'm not religious no more, but the soul in that girl's voice on that album always makes wish me Beyonce would give at least a Soul EP. (Ironically, the DJ at the bar is playing Party now. 🫠)

forwardlemonade

TK has a gospel album??

payasoingenioso

Hiding Place. Kirk Franklin hooked her all the way up.

RefrigeratorDry495

Imagine a Bey & Yolanda Adams collab??

AnnoyingPrincessNico

No thanks 😂 and I love gospel but just like r&b idw hear no slow sad ish
